Excellent food, great atmosphere and our waiter was superb. The chefs really know how to put a variety of flavors together and make it an amazing dining experience. This is more of a fine diner but well worth the visit!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat for brunch/lunchWe had a delicious lunch again at Bistro Roca. I had the croque madame for the first time--filling sandwich! Cocktails/wine/beer are always good. Service is always warm, friendly, knowledgable, and efficient.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent DinnerMy husband and I had a very enjoyable dinner at Bistro Roca. The entrees were very creative, the salad sampler was tasty and the bread pudding was the best ever! I love all the dog photos in the bar.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMVery accomadating with lastVery accomadating with last minute reservations, thanks to Open Table. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere, the service was over the top. Had something different for everyone to try and all of four of us enjoyed everyting. Would didinately recommend to others and would return to try other items on the menu.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMNever DisappointsWe haven't been in the past year and were excited to come back to Bistro Roca. I had the special and the usual fig/honey/proscutto app and it was absolutely perfect. Likely the best pork chop I have ever had, they called it the Pork Ribeye. It was wonderful. We have been eating Paleo and I was afraid we wouldnt' be able to find anything and I was wrong. I knew they had lots of fresh options but it was easy to stick to fresh foods! Love Bistro Roca!!!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, wine and helpful staffI have numerous food allergies and sensitivities. The waiter was very helpful in making sure everything on my plate worked for me. Fabulous food and wine, comfortable chairs.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoy A Mountain Gem!BR is among the best of some mighty fine restaurants in the High Country. The menu constantly offers interesting specials that are unique and tasty. The service is friendly and competent. The wine by the glass list offers great choices that are reasonably priced. The backporch is open, but you should request to be seated there when you make a reservation on Open Table. The parking can be tricky, but I suggest you park in the village lot and walk down by the lake. It is a quick walk that is especially lovely in the spring, plus you can eat more with a little exercise. Don't let the less than comfortable parking scare you a way from this culinary gem. If you want a lively, happy bar then go early or stay late and enjoy the Antler Bar.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great meal and excellentAlways a great meal and excellent service! I have enjoyed it with my group of girlfriends after a day at the spa and with my husband and his family when they have come up to visit us in the mountains. I personally love the many unique ways they prepare different veggies, that I always have to get the veggies plate, but they have a very nice variety of entres.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe iceing on the cake!We can't rave enough about our lunch at Bistro Roca. My sister and I and our spouses came to Blowing Rock for a foodie weekend and this was the icing on the cake before we left town. The service was wonderful and our meal was outstanding. The mac & cheese, which is normally off the list for us was to die for! I had the perfect Cod special and my husband had a fabulous flat bread. My sister and her husband shared a buffalo burger and were equally pleased. We were especially thrilled by the desserts - the chocolate and the lemon - sorry I forgot what they were actually called - but they were both fantastic!! Served with candles and comped too. The best meal we've had in a long time.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBistro Roca is one of ourBistro Roca is one of our favorite dinning spots. My wife and I dine there frequently. TheWe ate there for lunch. The menu had a nice variety. The food was excellent4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMNew favorite! We've been coming to Blowing Rock for years, but this was our first time dining at Bistro Roca. It's a new favorite! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food was wonderful and creative, and the staff was very attentive. Our kids liked it , too. Great find! We'll be back!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMIt'll be your favorite, too.Bistro Roca is one of my favorites. I have always been delighted with the food. Their menu has a Southern flair and there is truly something for everyone. The prices of entree's are congruent with the quality of cuisine and presentation...but there is enough diversity on the menu that you could get out of there having had a very scrumptious experience for under 35 bucks for 2. The service is spot on and the ambience is classy and cozy! With a stellar beer and wine selection as a bonus, Bistro Roca is on top of the High Country's Highly Recommended list!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant. ConsistentlyWonderful restaurant. Consistently good food, service, and atmosphere3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place rocks! This restaurant completely exceeded our expectations. It was set just a block or two off the main street of downtown Blowing Rock, which made for a nice walk to and from our hotel. The lobster mac and cheese and manicotti were both to die for. The service was excellent and I loved that they had moderately-priced glasses of wine. I recommend securing a reservation if possible on open table, though they did a great job of moving people in and out without being over-bearing. We will definitely be dining here again and you will not be disappointed if you try it, too!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMthe only complaint we hadthe only complaint we had was the bartender made NO attempt to service our table after dinner when we went to the bar for a nightcap. i had to go up to the bar and ask for service and even then he did not come and after about 5 more minutes the woman came. it was not busy at that point - they were catering to the locals only. very frustrating as i dine there a lot and always bring groups from out of town with me.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMRoca is consistently excellentRoca is consistently excellent in the presentation of their food. This was a Sunday so the Bistro was quiet. The shrimp and grits crepe was divine. I was hesitant to have the fried egg on top of the dish but the waitperson insisted and he was on the mark. Superb dish.
We are seasonal residents and this is our go to spot for excellent selections and are rarely disasppointed.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMScrumptous, as usual.Superb flavors and service. Took my father for his first visit to this restaurant, and he couldn't stop talking about it all weekend. Delicious.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMas usual, one of our favoriteas usual, one of our favorite restuarants anywhere. Reliable, excellent food, friendly service. We got a reservation via OT when my wife's phone request for the same or similar time was denied. So OT worked better!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food! Great Service!BISTRO ROCA never fails to deliver excellent food with great service. We usually eat at BR several times each month. As local residents, it is often the restaurant we choose when we have guests in the village or when we just need a "date" night. This week we tried the humus, pimento cheese plate to start. Both the humus and the pimento cheese were delicious, though our favorite appetizer remains figs wrapped in prosciutto. We also ordered the plain mac and cheese, and it was excellent. The pasta shells were lightly coated with melted cheese that was mild and flavorful. We do miss our favorite waitress, Danielle, who moved back to NY, but the entire staff, from the manager to the maitre d, continues to deliver great service.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best restaurants in NC!One of the best restaurants period. Could could compete right up there with some of the best restaurants in the US that are two, three times more expensive and be better than them!3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMYum...again.Still my favorite place, especially for lunch or brunch. Tried new things this time. Scrumptious pork meatloaf and shrimp/spinach crepe. Tasty cocktails as usual. Professional and warm service. Always exceeds my expectations.3/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI think this is my favorite placeWe're quite familiar with lunch/brunch here, but this was our third time for dinner (which has been a slight bit more variable for us than lunch). We loved everything we had--2 apps, the lamb special (THANKS for something other than a side of mint jelly), the ribeye, dessert, drinks--all wonderful. Usually don't order ribeye because it's such a toss-up on the cut/fat content, but we rolled the dice and it was delicious. We had a glitch at first with our table not being recognized/welcomed. We didn't really care, but I only mention to give kudos to the staff for going overboard to rectify it. Never usually order mussels since they can be gamey; since we were given a free app we got to taste theirs. They were DEElicious; we'll order again.2/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA brunch favoriteSuperb, as usual. Reliably good flavors, timely and helpful service, great cocktails.1/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
