Diner Reviews
  • "Average food, especially for the price. Very poor service - slow and inattentive. Probably will not go back."

  • "Everything was excellent from the time Hostess seated us in the small area away from the main dinning room, everything went well and we enjoyed our second experience much more than the first"

  • "We have been to Bistro Niko many times. We love French Onion Soup and theirs is the best in Atlanta to us. My mom went with us for the first time. Being a senior adult, she appreciated so very much that she and I could share our entrée. The kitchen divided it for us. It is that type of extra touch that makes Bistro Niko such a great place to dine."

  • "This is the best of all the times I have been to Bistro Niko. I can not wait to go back."

  • "I like the atmosphere in this place. Try the ham and cheese sandwich with an egg on top. It's not your normal Ham and cheese sandwich. This place always delivers."

  • "Food quality and service used to be so much better. Generally speaking a disappointing experience."

  • "The whole, boned trout almondine was smoky and moist. Excellent choice."

  • "Our first booth was in the large dining room; very noisy. Asked for another area and was moved into the smaller dining room. There was no improvement, noise level still high. We couldn't have a decent conversation with our friends. The food was excellent but would not go back due to the noise."

  • "The food and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend this place for similar gatherings or for just a nice dinner out."

  • "Trout almandine was overly oily but everything else was perfect. The "3 plate" special is a great deal that I just noticed. Appetizer + dessert for less than $6 more."

  • "They outdid their self this time. I wasn't sure I would go back after my last experience... The Seafood Pasta wos WOWWWEEE GREAT! Teh noodles were home made and tasted GREAT! Teh cream saous was wonderful in consistency and flavor. This is a definate keeper for the next visit Jerry"

  • "We just love this restaurant and are so happy to have it near us. Love the food and ambience. Sitting at the high top tables at the front if the restaurant gives a nice view of outside. The patio is OK for drinks, but the small tables make a meal difficult. Our food this time was delicious as always!"

  • "The food is fantastic and very authentic French style. The duck sausage with lentils is delicious. This is my favorite restaurant in Metro Atlanta!"

  • "The French bistro styling, a boisterous atmosphere and delicious food, all will make you think it was plucked right off of the Left Bank in Paris. Knowledgeable and attentive service too. One of our favorite spots in Atlanta."

  • "The food and service are always wonderful here. We had dinner at one of the hot new places in the westside district and it honestly doesn't even compare. Bistro Niko just always gets it right! Wonderful oysters as well as other small bites like the tomato tarte. I love it also because it's not too fussy. They have something that will please everyone."

  • "We were greeted warmly by the hostess when we arrived who also worked hard to find a nice table for us. The food at the restaurant was excellent however the service from our waiter was losy, we were sitting outside on a beautiful Friday evening yet the disinterest from our server was not pleasant at all."

  • "I arrived at valet parking for $2 which is a great price. Was immediately seated and the waiter arrived with a bottle of water and was ready to give us the specials for the day. Gave us time to look over the menu and take our order once we decided what we wanted. I had the soft shell crabs as an appetizer which was excellent. Ambiance was great..such a great place to meet a friend for dinner."

  • "Had dinner but was a bit disappointed by the meal options and the service. The server did not try hard to sell the food. The deserts were pretty good, especially the apple tart. Wine list was long and had plenty of options."

  • "CONSISTANCY -- whatever you order, it will always be the same quality as before!! The "Shrimp Brick" was totally divine - so tasty. The smoked salmon "starter" was delicious. The desserts to die for!! Kudos to our server, David."

  • "We like Bistro Niko due to the variety of offerings, particularly the specials. Always great choices, tasty food, attentive service and eclectic people watching. No dress code means some strange outfits are worn for fine dining."

  • "We've dined here several times over the years, and the food is consistently delicious. The wine selections are good. Our wait person was very attentive and had good suggestions. We shared a mushroom and guyere "tart" (flatbread) that was wonderful. We took most of it home since a couple of slices were very filling. My husband always seems to get the same thing, the 3 course selection with white bean soup, coq au vin and cream brulee. I love the salmon, but this time I got the special Mediterranean sea bass (or like sea bass) that was delicate and flavorful. I did not care for the ratatouille and spinach accompaniment, but we took it home, along with the flat bread and half of my husband's coq au vin for him to dine on another day."

  • "While the food and service measured up to the Buckhead Life standards of the great restaurants in this chain, the atmosphere was substandard due to a very noisy, and frequently rowdy bar crowd. Niko Bistro needs to partition its bar from the diners. At this time I'm unable to recommend NB - a noisy, rowdy atmosphere is not compatible with a fine dining experience."

  • "The food was very good, but the service was extremely poor. Every time we have dined at Bistro Nico the service has been bad. We had to flag down a manager to finally get service. The actual server was in another planet. Too bad as this restaurant serves up very good food, but the service ruins the experience. Management needs to get a grip on the service issue as it has been the same since the restaurant opened."

  • "Bistro N rarely disappoints, although sometimes the service can be too 'French'. Not really a brunch place, but the small plates here are the best. The steak frites is the best and great value. Their mussels are excellent and croque monsieur is another favorite. Great lunch."

  • "Jimmy introduced us to a wine that we were not familiar with that we subsequently ordered at our table. Thanks for taking the time with us. Brittany made certain that we had something to munch on while we waited at the bar and later she personally seated us at our table. Outstanding service by both Jimmy and Brittany."

  • "Good place for brunch and good menu selection, food was good."

  • "We had an excellent repast. Had the trois fromages and procuitto tarte for apps. coq au vin, skate wing, and ga. shrimp to entrees, creme brulee and carmel ice cream for deserts. All extremely good. Only complaint is the noise. Think next time, I'll request the smaller dining area."

  • "Met a friend at the Bistro Niko and enjoyed great service, great wine and great food. Just had lunch but will be back for dinner at some later time. Highly recommended!"

  • "I have been coming here (and all the BLG restaurants) for ages. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. The waiter was non-existent, and when he was around, he had no personality at all. The shrimp dish I had, which I have had before, was a soggy mess and my partner's beef Bourguignon was fatty. I will reconsider Bistro Niko when making my next dining choice."

  • "We were seated promptly and were grateful to be on the patio. The bar was very crowded, thanks to the World Cup. It felt like a sports bar. Thankfully the game ended soon so it did quiet down - slightly. Sitting outside was okay - but it's right on Peachtree and very noisy due to the traffic. I don't understand the appeal of a restaurant where you have to shout to be heard. That said, the wait staff was very attentive (although our first drink order took forever to come out - thanks again to the World Cup crowd) and the food was delicious and spot on French fare. Lastly, I would say that the drink prices were quite high, but food prices were reasonable given the high quality. I would have given 4 stars but for the noise. Won't go back."

  • "Husbands' charcuterie board was nice and plentiful...but the bread is lacking. As you enter the restaurant, beautiful baguettes are arranged in baskets in the open kitchen, but they are for show only. Hard to believe what is supposed to be a French Bistro doesn't have a baguette to serve...My mussels were literally drowning in shallots. What was supposed to be a floating island for dessert was what my mother used to call Snow Pudding...not a light, fluffy meringue in a custard sauce. Noise from the bar is so loud in the main dining room during happy hour you cannot have a conversation."

  • "The food was amazing, but service ironically was awful!"

  • "After sending both our meals back to be cooked as requested, one of the meals still wasn't cooked properly. For the price you pay and the amount of food you get, the kitchen could at least cook to your specifications. Server wasn't very prompt with anything. Credit given for management checking after dinner and adjusting the bill for the meal not cooked properly. Probably won't go back."

  • "My husband and I went to Bistro Niko for our wedding anniversary.I was so excited to have no kids and just enjoy myself with delicious food and wine like we've done in the past. The service was good from start to finish however I cannot say the same about the food. The calamari appetizer was small and just warm, but nothing special.I don't even understand the lemon aioli it had no taste to it at all. The scallop entree was really good, but again just warm not hot from the kitchen. My husband got the beef bourguignon which is a signature dish we were told but was seriously lacking in portion and flavor and half of the dish was not even warm. The noodles had not purpose or flavor at all.The strawberry sorbet tasted like plastic.Very disappointed."

  • "Going away lunch with my girlfriend. I've been trying to hit up my favorite eateries in ATL before I leave so of course Bistro Niko was a must. We ordered a lovely bottle of Brut Rose champagne. Yum! Then had the mushroom tart. My first impression was it looked greasy. We had no silverware so we waited for several min for our server to return to ask for utensils. She set those up on our setting and then we had no napkins. Several more minutes go by and finally I got up and a bus boy was able to bring us some napkins. We shared a lyonaise salad which was great but bland. I again had to get up to get s&p from another table. Had the profiteroles for dessert which were lovely. Overall love Bistro Niko but they were off their game this visit."

  • "Didn't make reservations at Chops far enough in advance to get a reservation for two at a time we prefer to have dinner, particularly on a Friday night, so we decided to try Bistro Niko. A visit there was something we'd planned to do at some point so we took a shot at getting a 7:30pm reservation. It worked, and we were confident that a new Buckhead Life experience would be a good risk. We were not disappointed. The food was outstanding and when my wife was greeted with a "Happy Birthday" it did not go unnoticed. She loves her filet "Pittsburgh" and the chef did a great job. I chose the special that featured what was like a sea bass filet in a sauce over mixed veggies. The food & service was outstanding. Can't wait to go back !"
