Diner Reviews
  • "CONSISTANCY -- whatever you order, it will always be the same quality as before!! The "Shrimp Brick" was totally divine - so tasty. The smoked salmon "starter" was delicious. The desserts to die for!! Kudos to our server, David."

  • "Had dinner but was a bit disappointed by the meal options and the service. The server did not try hard to sell the food. The deserts were pretty good, especially the apple tart. Wine list was long and had plenty of options."

  • "We like Bistro Niko due to the variety of offerings, particularly the specials. Always great choices, tasty food, attentive service and eclectic people watching. No dress code means some strange outfits are worn for fine dining."

  • "We've dined here several times over the years, and the food is consistently delicious. The wine selections are good. Our wait person was very attentive and had good suggestions. We shared a mushroom and guyere "tart" (flatbread) that was wonderful. We took most of it home since a couple of slices were very filling. My husband always seems to get the same thing, the 3 course selection with white bean soup, coq au vin and cream brulee. I love the salmon, but this time I got the special Mediterranean sea bass (or like sea bass) that was delicate and flavorful. I did not care for the ratatouille and spinach accompaniment, but we took it home, along with the flat bread and half of my husband's coq au vin for him to dine on another day."

  • "Jimmy introduced us to a wine that we were not familiar with that we subsequently ordered at our table. Thanks for taking the time with us. Brittany made certain that we had something to munch on while we waited at the bar and later she personally seated us at our table. Outstanding service by both Jimmy and Brittany."

  • "While the food and service measured up to the Buckhead Life standards of the great restaurants in this chain, the atmosphere was substandard due to a very noisy, and frequently rowdy bar crowd. Niko Bistro needs to partition its bar from the diners. At this time I'm unable to recommend NB - a noisy, rowdy atmosphere is not compatible with a fine dining experience."

  • "The food was very good, but the service was extremely poor. Every time we have dined at Bistro Nico the service has been bad. We had to flag down a manager to finally get service. The actual server was in another planet. Too bad as this restaurant serves up very good food, but the service ruins the experience. Management needs to get a grip on the service issue as it has been the same since the restaurant opened."

  • "Bistro N rarely disappoints, although sometimes the service can be too 'French'. Not really a brunch place, but the small plates here are the best. The steak frites is the best and great value. Their mussels are excellent and croque monsieur is another favorite. Great lunch."

  • "uncharacteristically poor service on this occasion for brunch."

  • "Casual enough to be summer friendly, yet special enough for a lovely evening dining experience."

  • "We had an excellent repast. Had the trois fromages and procuitto tarte for apps. coq au vin, skate wing, and ga. shrimp to entrees, creme brulee and carmel ice cream for deserts. All extremely good. Only complaint is the noise. Think next time, I'll request the smaller dining area."

  • "Met a friend at the Bistro Niko and enjoyed great service, great wine and great food. Just had lunch but will be back for dinner at some later time. Highly recommended!"

  • "Husbands' charcuterie board was nice and plentiful...but the bread is lacking. As you enter the restaurant, beautiful baguettes are arranged in baskets in the open kitchen, but they are for show only. Hard to believe what is supposed to be a French Bistro doesn't have a baguette to serve...My mussels were literally drowning in shallots. What was supposed to be a floating island for dessert was what my mother used to call Snow Pudding...not a light, fluffy meringue in a custard sauce. Noise from the bar is so loud in the main dining room during happy hour you cannot have a conversation."

  • "We were seated promptly and were grateful to be on the patio. The bar was very crowded, thanks to the World Cup. It felt like a sports bar. Thankfully the game ended soon so it did quiet down - slightly. Sitting outside was okay - but it's right on Peachtree and very noisy due to the traffic. I don't understand the appeal of a restaurant where you have to shout to be heard. That said, the wait staff was very attentive (although our first drink order took forever to come out - thanks again to the World Cup crowd) and the food was delicious and spot on French fare. Lastly, I would say that the drink prices were quite high, but food prices were reasonable given the high quality. I would have given 4 stars but for the noise. Won't go back."

  • "I have been coming here (and all the BLG restaurants) for ages. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. The waiter was non-existent, and when he was around, he had no personality at all. The shrimp dish I had, which I have had before, was a soggy mess and my partner's beef Bourguignon was fatty. I will reconsider Bistro Niko when making my next dining choice."

  • "After sending both our meals back to be cooked as requested, one of the meals still wasn't cooked properly. For the price you pay and the amount of food you get, the kitchen could at least cook to your specifications. Server wasn't very prompt with anything. Credit given for management checking after dinner and adjusting the bill for the meal not cooked properly. Probably won't go back."

  • "Going away lunch with my girlfriend. I've been trying to hit up my favorite eateries in ATL before I leave so of course Bistro Niko was a must. We ordered a lovely bottle of Brut Rose champagne. Yum! Then had the mushroom tart. My first impression was it looked greasy. We had no silverware so we waited for several min for our server to return to ask for utensils. She set those up on our setting and then we had no napkins. Several more minutes go by and finally I got up and a bus boy was able to bring us some napkins. We shared a lyonaise salad which was great but bland. I again had to get up to get s&p from another table. Had the profiteroles for dessert which were lovely. Overall love Bistro Niko but they were off their game this visit."

  • "My husband and I went to Bistro Niko for our wedding anniversary.I was so excited to have no kids and just enjoy myself with delicious food and wine like we've done in the past. The service was good from start to finish however I cannot say the same about the food. The calamari appetizer was small and just warm, but nothing special.I don't even understand the lemon aioli it had no taste to it at all. The scallop entree was really good, but again just warm not hot from the kitchen. My husband got the beef bourguignon which is a signature dish we were told but was seriously lacking in portion and flavor and half of the dish was not even warm. The noodles had not purpose or flavor at all.The strawberry sorbet tasted like plastic.Very disappointed."

  • "When serving French Onion Soup - understand that it is very hot - which it should be, and that it will take longer to eat than cold soups and other appetizers and salads. I do not appreciate having my entrée presented when I'm only half finished with my soup. I noticed that the same thing happened at the table next to me as well. Other than that - the food was very good."

  • "Special pork chop was slightly over done. Manager came to check and offered to recook but flavor and tenderness was excellent so decided to keep it. Wife's sea bass was very good as well. Keep in mind there are 2 dining rooms and the bar aide can be very lively but we sat on the quiet side of the which was a first for us and it was nice but we were sort of missed the Friday evening atmosphere. Most of the outdoor doors were closed as it was hot but there were still bugs around which I guess is expected for an open restaurant."

  • "Didn't make reservations at Chops far enough in advance to get a reservation for two at a time we prefer to have dinner, particularly on a Friday night, so we decided to try Bistro Niko. A visit there was something we'd planned to do at some point so we took a shot at getting a 7:30pm reservation. It worked, and we were confident that a new Buckhead Life experience would be a good risk. We were not disappointed. The food was outstanding and when my wife was greeted with a "Happy Birthday" it did not go unnoticed. She loves her filet "Pittsburgh" and the chef did a great job. I chose the special that featured what was like a sea bass filet in a sauce over mixed veggies. The food & service was outstanding. Can't wait to go back !"

  • "Bistro Niko always delivers on great food and exceptional service. The management team is attentive to your every need. And, if you happen to get the waiter named "KG" you'll be in good hands. He knows the menu backwards and forwards. P.S. The salmon and the cod are delightfully tasty. Bon appétit!"

  • "I had some clients in and was looking forward to having a nice meal. Spending $600 on a table of 4 I expect some good service. It was anything but. The food was late to come and then when we did eat the waiter did not clear the plates. It took time to get the waiter to serve. In the end one of the maitre dis came and cleared the table for us."

    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "The food was good, even delicious, but the noise level in the main dining room was overwhelming. It was difficult to have a conversation, difficult to hear the waiter, and ultimately difficult to enjoy dinner. The waiters will end up with worker's compensation for deafness."

  • "I love coming to this restaurant and have always had a great time when I come as part of the Summer Dine Around promotion. However, this time, we were seated in a booth in the back near the bar - at 5:30p (happy hour, I assume), the noise level was very loud and did put a damper on the meal. If I go back during this time of day, I will be sure to request seating away from the bar."

  • "We went here to celebrate a work accomplishment, and we ended up bringing our 3 small kids when the babysitter cancelled. I thought t would be a nightmare, but it was awesome. The kids were more than happy with (huge) pizzas off the kids menu, and the waitress was great with them. We sat outside, and our food was perfect. I had the skate wing fish, and I can't wait to go back to have it again. My husband just had a sandwich, but even that was yummy. Highly recommended!"

  • "I hadn't been to Bistro Niko but when I received the Buckhead Life dining card I thought... Dinner at a discount? Why not? I am very glad I went! Had the escargot appetizer, the coq au vin and a bit of the apple tart for dessert -- and two days later I think I'm still full! The food was delicious and rich (my friend had the cape cod fish and enjoyed as well), the service terrific and it definitely was worth the trip. As we wrapped up around 8:30 the restaurant was more crowded and a bit more noisy-- the bar area itself seemed to be "hoppin'" the whole time we were there. All in all ... I would recommend it!"

  • "2 co-workers and I had dinner at Niko on Monday night. The food, service and drinks were really very good! It was a bit loud but it wasn't a bother. Very good experience. This was already my second trip and I'll be back for more."

  • "I have eaten at Bistro Niko several times - both lunch and dinner. The food is always excellent - tending toward classic but lightly and well prepared. Yesterday at lunch everything was outstanding: food, the waiter (attentive but not hovering, witty, great), and - this time - the noise level was great. Niko's can be noisy but, I'd hasten to add, no noisier than any other restaurant - seems to be characteristic today. Yesterday even the noise level was pleasant. Definitely will go again."
