We've been looking for a long time
for sumptuous cuisine near City a Center which we frequent. Stumbled upon this restaurant in your list. The food is dazzling. I had a special - pan seared red snapper cut into fourths and layered like a "cake" with alternating fish and vegetables . A delicate orange sauce was drizzled over the structure. So creative! So sumptuous !"

Chose this retaurant becuase it
was close to City Center, where we had tickets that night. And rain was in the forecast. We arrived at our reserved 6:15 time to a VERY NOISY room with the entry area crowded with people apparently hoping to be seated. We found out why. When the hostess finally made her way to the check-in stand, we were informed that we could not be seated for "at least 40 minutes" because there was a convention at the adjoining hotel. This was followed by "sorry" in a tone that said she was anything but. Will never go back. Suggest all who value a restaurant honoring its reservations seek dinner elsewhere."

We wanted something near our
convention hotel and before the theater. I narrowed it down and then read the reviews. Other folks raved. They were right! this is a terrific restaurant. All aspects: food, drink, service, were authentic and wonderful. Next time we're in NYC we'll put this restaurant on our list for return."

mediocre pizza, skimpy drinks, not
a place to revisit"

Went to well known, crowded
restaurant the night before, not a very relaxing dinner. Had we hone to bistro Milano the first night, we would have been back for the second dinner. Felt calm as soon as we walked in. Service was great, food delicious, and reasonable. Who knew you could find such a restaurant in NYC?"

My friends and I very much enjoyed
the experience of dining at this restaurant. The food and the service was extremely good and the setting was perfect."
Dined on 3/10/2014
The food is the star here.
Delicious filetto di manzo. osso buco, and orchietti. We particularly liked the carpaccio. Atmosphere was subdued, which is sometimes a very welcome thing. Great if you are going to City Center."

Mezze Luna con vitello -
stupendo! Minnestrone soup - divine."

My husband and I wanted a light
pre-theater meal. The menu looked great, but the food didn't live up to its description. Mushrooms and beets tasted canned rather then fresh, and everything was too heavily salted. Definitely not worth the price."

My fiance had just finished
visiting the Top of the Rock and were looking for somewhere with a good lunch menu that wasn't too far. This was a great little find a few blocks away. With the cold and it being the post Valentine's Day hangover, it wasn't very busy for lunch. The food was good, especially the calamari and shrimp fritte as an appetizer. The bread was fresh and warm and delicious as well. With only a few tables being seated, the food took quite a while for all the food prep, so not sure the cause of that. It was very nice also that on weekends, or at least Sunday, they have the brunch and lunch option you can order from."

Particularly appreciated the
northern Italian food. All was quite good. As was the service and ambience."
Dined on 2/15/2014
The Caesar salad was one of the
best I have ever had. Squash soup delicious. Everything was very good and I will definitely eat here again when I am in New York."
Dined on 2/15/2014
Had a business lunch here. Staff
was attentive, food was food and the restaurant ambiance was good."
Dined on 2/12/2014
We chose this place because it was
right across from our hotel and menu looked good. We were very pleased with our choice. The food was very good, the menu extensive, and were able to talk and visit with our friends without too much noise. Service was good. Wine was good, not great. Overall a very nice place. I would definitely go back."

Bistro Milano was a surprise find
as a companion and I searched for a spot to eat have going to MOMA. What a wonderful spot - in nice weather they have outdoor seating. The Mezza Luna pasta was wonderful. We were in NYC for10 days and literally went back to Bistro Milano two additional times - so in 10 days we ate there 3 times. My companion is from Paris, and I from the US - so you can call this a bit of an international review. The staff was nice and w truly enjoyed the restaurant. I have recommended the spot to others who have come back to tell me their experience was the same - they really enjoyed the restaurant."

Growing up and frequenting Italian
restaurants, Bistro Milano is exactly what it is supposed to be. You expect great service, great bread, good wine and a nice experience. Bistro delivers all that. I have had better food, so I can't rate it higher but I certainly didn't leave feeling disappointed.I would definitely go again next time I'm back. My guest enjoyed it as well."

We happened on this restaurant
from a hotel recommendation and were especially delighted about the choice. Everything was excellent-- the food, the service, the ambiance, the wine, and it was quiet enough to have conversation without distress! We recommend it highly and would return without question."

I picked Bistro Milano a business
meeting dinner. The food and service were outstanding and it was quiet and spacious enough to have a productive business conversation. The place would also be outstanding for date night or simply with friends. I highly recommend the Ahi Tuna appetizer."

If you are having an important
business meeting or just want to be able to hear what your lunch or dinner partner is saying, and vice versa, this is a good place. The food is secondary. I pass up what I consider to be 5 star food in the neighborhood for this place because the ambiance is civilized."
Dined on 1/14/2014
The 6 cheese appetizer was
excellent. Our meals were both very good. Setting is very New York. Service was great from time we walked in. This was our first time there and it was a real nice surprise. Very convenient too."
Dined on 1/11/2014
My husband dines here for business
lunches often so we decided to try it for dinner. Even though the restaurant was much less crowded at dinner the service was not responsive and the food left much to be desired. My fish was very fishy and my husbands veal was just okay and lukewarm. Would not go back."

Have visited Bistro Milan several
times and I'm always happy I came back. The food is delicious and the service just great. Each of the items we enjoyed from seafood to sausage risotto were wonderful. The staff is very friendly and try to do anything they can to make you comfortable. The restaurant is not large so would definitely plan ahead if you had a group larger than 4 or 5. Love to sit outside in the warmer months, it is just enough distance from 6th Ave. that it isn't very loud. I've also dined at the bar (which is a bit small) and enjoyed great service and felt comfortable as a woman traveling alone."

A friend recommended Bistro Milano
and we weren't disappointed. Outstanding Italian dishes. Looking forward to next visit."

The food and service were
outstanding! All of the suggestions the waitress made were perfect. The thin crust pizza with pesto was the best pizza we had on our trip to NYC."
Dined on 12/29/2013
We had the ravioli veal and the
papardelle al telefono pasta dishes, amazing, amazing amzing!"
Dined on 12/29/2013
I really enjoyed the food and the
atmosphere. The food and wine was priced way too high.Especially the wine. Because of this I would not go back unless a very special occasion"

Wrong dish delivered after long
wait then finally the dish we ordered arrived it was over cooked."

Portion control, portion control,
portion control... Food was great and best part was that your able to finish your whole meal with bread oil and balsamic vinaigrette. Highly recommend"

Great food and atmosphere. Loved
the selection of food! Will definitely return in the future!"

I had been to Bistro Milano for
lunch and sat in their outdoor section. Had such a great experience that I came here for my annual Christmas trip to the City dinner. The place was set up very nicely for Christmas and it had a good crowd for 5:30 on a Friday night. It was a little loud because of this but I had no problem hearing our waiter or having a conversation without having to yell or raise my voice. The food was excellent and service was right on top of us without being intrusive. Overall, another very good experience here."

Great cheese plate fruit and
honey. Not usually on menus. Nice find Attentive service . delicious pasta."

We stumbled across this place
while walking around, and what a great find it was!! The best food we had on our trip. The veal ravioli and risotto with spicy Italian sausage was incredible! We will be back for sure."

Service is great. Staff works well
together. Menu is not overwhelming."

Maybe I'm not used to NY prices,
but I dropped $209 (with tip) for two people. However, the food was wonderful. I had an octopus salad ($19) for an appetizer. It also featured sweet potato in addition to the greens. The octopus pieces were of a generous size and the most tender I've ever had. The vinaigrette was delicious. I had rabbit ($32) for an entree. It was tender and in a very nice, rich sauce. It was served on a bed of white polenta. My wife had very large, very succulent scallops ($34) for her entreé. They were extremely tender and cooked just right. For dessert we shared a molten chocolate cake ($12). It had the molten center you would expect. All in all, I give this place an excellent rating and would return. Bring your wallet."

Very delightful way to break away
from the office for a fine meal - light or heavy - and dine al fresco. Better to dine this way on a side street in Manhattan to avoid the roar of the buses and traffic."
Dined on 9/17/2013
Food was amazing! My husband and I
opted to share several courses, a phenomenal. The app, pasta and entree were wonderful, as was the service up till dessert. Things went downhill after that. Our waiter took our cappuccino/espresso order and disappeared after leaving the dessert menu. We finished our coffee before we found him and ordered dessert, then waited almost 30 minutes for the dessert. Our waiter was nowhere to be found and we had to ask the busboy to have another waitstaff rep bring our bill. In all fairness to our waiter I believe he was flustered after the table next to us (4 persons) asked for separate checks AFTER receiving the one check at the end of the meal."

Bistro Milano was a great find.
Delicious food, great service, friendly and efficient staff, pleasant ambiance. We would go back in a second!"

Excellent dining experience. Great
food, made even better by a genuinely kind, charming, helpful and attentive waiter!"
Dined on 11/12/2013
We chose the location beczuse the
theater was nearby, but the meal was OJK for appetizers, otherwise mediocre."
