  • "We had a wonderful time. It was our first visit and we'll most likely be back one day (we're from Toronto). Upon our arrival, the host was polite and quick to welcome us. My wife and I were there for a romantic dinner so at first, we thought the music was a bit loud for our liking. We decided to sit at a table upstairs because the music wasn't as loud. The waiter was polite, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Overall, we had a great experience. We discovered a restaurant where we can eat excellent food, for a fair price. I must say the portions were really good as well."

  • "Nous avons fait la réservation via Opentable et avions laissé le message que nous étions limités en temps (1h30) pour le souper. À notre arrivée au bistro, on nous a indiqué qu'on tiendrait compte de notre limite de temps sans problème, ce qui fut réalisé à notre grand bonheur. Dans l'ensemble, nous avons bien mangé, mais sans plus. Seule mon entrée, le «foie gras pressé», valait vraiment son prix. Nous avons donc trouvé que notre facture était beaucoup trop élevée pour la qualité de repas que l'on nous a offert."

  • "I ate there during the formula 1 event.even-though they jack up the price during that period but I was very pleased with the quality of food. I guess I didn't expect much but it was great and especially I like the service. Eventhough it was pack but the waitress was very attentive with a great personality. Unfortunately I don't remember her name but she made me and my wife had an enjoyable time."

  • "Malheureusement, nous avons été très déçus de notre expérience vendredi dernier, et ce sera sans doute notre dernière visite. C’était presque impossible d’avoir une conservation tellement la musique était forte, et les plats semblaient avoir été faits à la va-vite (bien que le resto n’était pas encore plein). Mais surtout, ce qui nous a franchement scandalisés, c’est de voir à quel point les prix du menu avaient été gonflés (par rapport à ce que le site Web indiquait) en cette fin de semaine de Grand Prix (que nous avons rebaptisée «fin de semaine du Gros Prix» à l’image de l’établissement). Ces prix abusifs auront eu raison de notre fidélité... nous ne retournerons pas à L’Aromate. Comme on dit : «Fool me once...»"

  • "Je suis allée plusieurs fois à l'Aromate et cette fois ci je peux dire qu'il se passera beaucoup de temps avant que j'y retourne. Le service excellent et le restaurant époustouflant ne réussissent pas à faire passer les plats un peu ordinaires qui nous ont été servis. Il y a quelques années,la nourriture était beaucoup plus savoureuse et plus soignée. Mes 2 dernières visites m'ont donne une facture très salée et une expérience de la table décevante. Finalement si vous recherchez une super ambiance, un excellent service, des bons vins je vous le recommande et j'espère que la cuisine redeviendra bonne comme autrefois!"

  • "A nice and somewhat eclectic offering for brunch - albeit pricey. Because this restaurant sits within a 4 star hotel, you should definitely not expect a cheap diner style breakfast. The menu offers breakfast selections that range from $15 to $20 a plate, but we didn't mind paying the premium for something that went beyond traditional bacon and eggs. My wife enjoyed her take on Eggs Benedict which was enhanced with a slightly sweet infusion of caramelized onions and shredded ham (almost like pulled pork). I was happy with my grilled cheese sandwich, which also benefited from the addition of caramelized onion along with duck confit. The only thing that took away from the experience was the abysmally slow service and cold coffee."

The ambiance was jusr perfect with the sound level. the only bad thing were the distance between the table made the dinner not as romantis as it could have been and the service was a bit long for the amount of client."

  • "i went there with coupons from groupon. i don't know if it is because i had the coupons or it's usually like this but the portions were very small. i noticed from the exegerate portion of my appetizer(octopus) and the size of my main course ("onglet de boeuf") was different from their picture on their website. They cut "l'onglet de boeuf" in small pieces so it looks bigger (3pieces 3*2*2cm approx. not kidding). Even the desserts were small compare to the pictures in their website. Won;t go back for sure. i was really dissapointed."

  • "En entrée nous avons choisi les raviolis aux pois verts et à la menthe ainsi qu'une recommandation de la serveuse soit le tartare de bœuf. Nous fumes déçus par les raviolis car les escargots l'accompagnant goûtaient la terre et le bouillon était sans saveur. Par contre, le tartare était délicieux. En repas, nous avons commandé le risotto multigrains et le burger. C'est la serveuse qui a choisi le risotto et il manquait un peu de saveur. Par contre, le mélange de riz était agréable en bouche. Le hamburger était copieux. Étant repus, pas de dessert En bref, mis au part l'accueil un peu lent et le changement de serveurs, nous avons apprécié notre expérience. Le personnel est courtois et avenant, le décor charmant, mais la cuisine sans éclat."

  • "The choice on menu and the Quality of food was not nearly as good as in the past .I went to Bistro L'Aromate Laval not long ago and the menu choice was better and food was much better . I heard the chef that was in Centreville was now in Laval. Maybe that is why I did not enjoy it as much. We spent over 300.00 before tax for 4 of us and I do not mind spending that much money on supper ,but it had better be spectacular and it was NOT.! I was extremely disappointed as were my friends. On a positive all the STAFF I encountered were polite ,helpful and professional. Excellent service! I tipped accordingly, but this tip was not a reflection of my disappointment in the meal."

  • "La nourriture etait délicieuse quoi que habituellement une table d hote comprend le café et le dessert mais pas eux. Nous avions fait une réservation quelques semaines à l'avance et j avais spécifié une table au 2ieme. La journée avant j ai recu un rappel de ma confirmation mais à notre arrivée à L'Aromate on nous a dit que le mercredi le 2ieme est fermé. Il nous ont placé à une table dans le fond mais apres un bout de temps je me suis apperçu qu il y avait des gens placé au 2ieme, chercher l erreur, probablement un plus grand achalange que prevu mais quand même.......service...........bon service mais extremement lent.... probablement causé encore par un plus grand achanlandage que prévu mais je n ai pas à payer pour ça."

  • "My husband and I had dinner at L'Aromate recently. We both chose a dish from the Table d'hote, Most of the meal we had tasted good and was disappointed only with one. Portions were also rather small and coffee was lukewarm. Sat on second floor however tables were much too close for privacy and larger groups made some noise. Not a very romantic type setting. Maybe first floor would have been better. Staff was very attentive."

  • "Group of 7 people celebrating a birthday. The food was NOT GOOD. Portions were very small (e.g. Dish with 3 eggs and basically nothing else). I chose what they called in English 'French toats' which had NOTHING to do with the description. Looked and tasted more like a dessert you would get at St-Hubert. Two other people had eggs benedictin, but the eggs were not poached - they were almost hard-boiled. The restaurant was not full, so no excuse. Coffee was OK, no more. The waitress did her best but was dropping utensils... Another one was dressed in a super mini skirt with not much on top. I thought she was going clubbing. I work downtown and get to try a lot of restaurants. As a Montrealer, I think that we deserve better than that..."
