Bistro La PromenadeGreat Birthday!My wife took me here for my birthday and the food was so delicious. The seafood appetizer and clams on the half were so fresh! The fish entree melted in my mouth and the dessert was fabulous. I kept looking for the Mediterranean out the window! The menu was so authentically a bistro menu and everything we chose was perfectly prepared from the lamb chops to the roasted cod to the skate to the duck breast to the roasted chicken. Our server made us feel welcome and special. She knew the menu and the wine list backwards and forwards as she should. We chose a red from Languedoc that was rich and deep though not too expensive. The server told us the same thing as soon as we sat down and both managed our expectations well. I typically don't like Ricotta, but the way Bistro La Promenade makes theirs is awesome. Definitely made me a fan.
The staff was kind, friendly, and knowledgeable without being over-bearing.

I had the tuna crudo to start, which was incredible... and I order Tuna dishes most places I go. Also had the bronzio which i loved. I shared the ricotta and would recommend that. The service was quick and friendly and the scenery was cool; felt like the Riviera. Overall, I had a great time and I think my group did too. Food wise, everything was spot on, scallops and lamb were both perfectly cooked and delicious. The cheesecake dessert is also on of the best cheesecakes I have ever had. Service was also fantastic. Professional yet very warm and friendly. Our server also helped us pick out a great mid priced bottle of wine that paired perfectly with the meal. The escargot reminded me of the great appetizer I had at Lutece during the 1970's. I recall that a colleague dipped his bread in my snail butter repeatedly. The escargot here had relatively little snail butter, but it still made for good dipping. On the second visit, I was informed enough to order the short ribs, THE dish to have on a Saturday night. It was spectacular. The dessert, a very chocolaty cake with vanilla ice cream was heavenly. My only problems were the noise and the crowdedness. Our waiter was a pro--not a college kid looking to make ends meet. He knew exactly how to take care of us without being obtrusive. Can't believe we didn't know about this place. The mixologist has some wonderful drink ideas, executed beautifully. Our waitress knew her stuff and didn't steer us wrong. Really great meals. Butter lettuce salad was special and yummy. Skate fish dinner was amazing, as was the branzino. We love that all the fishes were fileted before serving. Maitre 'D Jonathan and manager Bruno were attentive and friendly Only one comment: on a Friday at 7pm, 2 of the 3 specialty appetizers were unavailable. We ordered the "bouillabaisse" fish soup and the "tuna crudo" appetizers. Both were tasty. Also, it is recommended to get the creamy ricotta with crispy bread.
Then we decided to get the scallops with pesto puree, and the "confit de canard" (duck leg cooked for several hours). The duck meat came out really soft while the skin was nicely crisp.
