What a fabulous dinner we had! I had heard great recs regarding the food from a friend but I was still blown away! My mom and daughter (5) and I went and it was a memorable dinner! Service was perfect in every way -- knowledgeable, pleasant, attentive and appropriately low-key waiter made our night...ambiance was perfection! cozy yet spacious and lofty...food however was the crowning glory -- best meal we've had in a LONG time and we are pretty discerning....a must see!

Food is still terrific. My favorite Swedish meatballs have been consistent in flavor. Wife had flounder special which was done perfectly. Bread pudding dessert to die for.
If you haven't tried the Bistro, you should it's worth it.

Bistro La Bon (including a French mis-spelling) is a REAL find...kind of faded part of town, but SUPERB food and service (ask for "Jess", who's outstanding). Even the house salad was brilliant, mains/sides were really interesting with excellent counter-position of flavors, superb deserts, and there is a pretty good, very well priced wine list. It's not fancy, but absolutely worth the visit for the food.

We typically go to Bistro La Bon at least once a month (sometimes more) and are never disappointed. The food is fantastic, the staff is very friendly, and the interior is beautiful. It's a great place either for a special occasion or if you just have a craving for their mussels in leek sauce and saffron cream or the bread pudding.
