  • "We had not been to Bistro Jeanty for a few years and found it just as charming and delicious as we remembered. Keep up the good work!"

  • "I went for lunch on a Thursday and just had the buttermilk lettuce salad with mustard vinaigrette and onion soup. it was amazing. the vinaigrette is delicious and the lettuce was nice and refreshing. the onion soup was hearty and nice and cheesy"

  • "I've been here many times, and each time is an amazing experience. One of the best restaurants in the Napa Valley. Top quality food, wine, and service. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a special meal."

  • "Great french food with excellent service and ambience. This was a special occasion, anniversary, and we plan go return on our next trip to Napa Valley. If Atiyeh is your waiter, you are in for a great experience. Treat yourself and go!"

  • "We usually judge a french restaurant by the escargot. When done wrong they have an unappealing texture and are simply a delivery vehicle for the garlic butter. Not so at Bistro Jeanty, the escargot were beautifully done, tender, melt in the mouth, silky textured and of course with wonderful garlic butter sauce fit for sopping. Next, the bean salad with warm goat cheese, just the right amount of sun dried tomatoes in a honey (not sweet) vinaigrette. Then onto a marvel of a cassoulet! Breaking the breadcrumb and herb crust released the most delicious aroma! We couldn't wait to dive in. Tender beans, duck falling off the bone, Toulouse sausage and bacon.. lovely! All was ordered as a three course meal for two and it was plenty."

  • "Bistro Jeanty does not disappoint! On my third visit to this wonderful, bustling place we were greeted and seated promptly, our waitstaff was well-informed, engaging and helpful and the kitchen offerings were as always a delight. To start, the chefs transformed the lowly and simple trotter into a whimsical crispy treat. Our duck confit and goat cheese terrine was a perfect example of something where "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts." A splendid veal chop, served at the perfect temperature and topped with a generous garnish of sauteed morels and accompanied by a sauce boat of an ambrosia-like combination of cheese and cream was over the top - a perfect example of simple food made sublime."

  • "Not keeping up with other restaurants in area as far as service and food quality. Past it's prime. Needs refreshing. Chairs and tables uncomfortable. Waiters not very attentive."

  • "We have driven by this charming restaurant hundreds of times and had no idea what we were missing. The ambiance, service and food were amazing. We were impressed with the serving sizes, not to mention the abundant flavors and presentation. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quaint and romantic place to eat in the Napa Valley."

  • "Another spectacular meal at Bistro Jeanty! Everything was stellar, from the ambiance, to service, to food. Can't wait to be back."

  • "Spent 3 nights in Yountville and booked this reservation a couple months in advance as we knew this was a must. We were not disappointed! Food was outstanding. Started with the butter leaf salad and heirloom tomato salads. I had the short rib with roasted carrots and bulb onions and my fiancé had the sole. Both were excellent! We came back for lunch the next day and had the butter leaf salad again, along with the steak tartare and frittes. The texture and quality on the steak tartare was great, but the mustard dressing was slightly overwhelming. Still very good, however. Definitely a must if in Yountville!"

  • "Simply excellent dinner for our party of four. Being on the patio avoided crowding and noise problems reported by others. The food was so tasty."

  • "Honestly, I have no idea what all the fuss is about. Forgettable food, forgettable service, too hurried, too crowded. Have had SO much better. There are so many great restaurants in the Napa area I have no idea why this one gets such rave reviews and is so popular. Maybe we just hit it on a bad day. My husband and friends that joined us liked the tomato soup, the french onion and escargot were way below par. I know chain restaurants that have better. We sat on the patio, which was fine since the inside was really crowded and noisy. Everything from drinks to entree's were not delivered to our table at the same time, it was just weird. I wouldn't go back, but that's just me."

  • "We chose to dine at Bistro Jeanty for our anniversary dinner in Napa. We had a wonderful table inside next to the fireplace (not that we needed it, since it is summertime, but it was still nice). Service was impeccable, as was the food. They even gave us a little candle in our dessert for our anniversary (bread pudding, which was delicious). Definitely recommend the tomato soup and the beef bourguignon!"

  • "Food was wonderful and very French, as expected. Service was disappointingly rushed and uninspiring. Verged on condescending."

  • "Wonderful food, ambiance and evening from beginning to end! We felt like we were in a French bistro and loved each aspect of our dining experience from cocktails to dessert. Very friendly staff. Definitely sit on the patio if you enjoy outdoor dining (requested when we made our reservation). Every item we indulged in we would recommend. Our experience at Bistro Jeanty ranks up there with our top restaurant experiences. Such a great and memorable evening:)"

  • "With so many great restaurants in Yountville, it's easy to overlook Bistro Jeanty - even though it is always busy - it's a terrific french bistro with a large menu of classic french dishes like coq au vin with buttered noodles and cassoulet...plus fried smelt, french onion soup and numerous pates, and their iconic tomato soup served under a puff pastry dome. Terrific service as well - a great place to eat any time of day!"

  • "My husband and I had been to this restaurant about 12 years ago. We enjoyed it immensely then...so we thought we would try it again. Since we were going to be spending the 4th of July week-end in Napa and celebrating our daughters 21st birthday.. we thought of this place and we were not disappointed. The food and the service was excellent. We all had something different for our main course and we each loved what we got!! I highly recommend the fish. it was cooked to perfection..."

  • "We had reservations at 8:30 and were seated promptly on the patio. The night was a little cool and they had heaters to make it more comfortable. I liked that feature. They have a wonderful menu with daily specials that were pretty extensive. We enjoyed the food and our waiter was very nice however, it took forever to get our main course. We received our starters relatively promptly but it was after 10:00 p.m. before we received our dinner. We asked several times and really never got a good answer for why it took so long. They gave us a complimentary creme brûlée which was nice but I would have preferred better service."

  • "The food and selections were spectacular, however if you don't mind feeling like you are sharing your dinner with those right next to you then great. Unfortunately I felt like this place has outgrown it's doors. The tables were literally less than 12" apart. I don't mind close but forget having any private conversations as you can hear everyone right next too you. The service was okay but the server was older and working too many tables. He didn't tell us what their signature dish was as I heard it expressed by another server at the table next to us. That said the food itself excellent just the experience of the dining itself left a lot lacking."

  • "Expensive for less than average food! Used to be great now I won't go there again. Took a friend and was embarassed. Rib-eye i remembered having there was great - this time it was a thin cut over cooked mess. What happened Bistro Jeanty?"

  • "Stumbled upon this restaurant on recommendation from guide at Stag Leap's Wine Cellars. Recommended the tomato soup which is delicious. Overall, quant little french restaurant in the heart of Napa Valley."

  • "Our food was outstanding, the service was outstanding. They offer a varied and sophisticated menu in a comfortable setting. I had braised pork shoulder and my husband had a veal chop with morels. Both were wonderful."

  • "Great experience at Bistro Jeanty. Both nights the food was excellent and super service. Raymond did a great job our second night as well as the young waiter the previous night. Tomato soup in the pastry bowl was amazing. Steak fries was also very good. Mussels were exceptional as well as the green bean salad and seasonal tomato salad. Beautiful outdoor setting both nights. We were early both nights and the host accommodated us each night! Thank you for two great nights. We look forward to our return visit!!!!"

  • " went for lunch, lovely salad lyonnaise , but the beef bourginon was to die for- the best combination of ingredients - having a vey sensitive stomach I wasn't to able to eat the tomato soup due to the layer of butter floating on the top under the pastry cover , but it smelled wonderful- lovely service from out waitress Chris- lovely ambiance"

  • "a lovely French bistro. generous portions. sole muniere was very tasty. coq au vin had deep developed flavors. wait staffwas very pleasant, helpful & attentive. definitely would return"

  • "Nice atmosphere. Good service. Food was a real let down. For example, the tomato soup, a house speciality, tasted like a watered down version of a pasta vodka sauce. The coq au vin was only edible if you like the taste of liquid smoke as if was the dominating flavor in the dish. They serve so many people that I feel the kitchen is getting too sloppy and since they serve hordes of visitors they don't really seem to care."

  • "One of the best meals I've ever had! Delicious! A must-go-to place in the Napa Valley! I had the pork shoulder and my husband had the "beef stew." Both were amazing."

  • "In a town bursting at the seams in top names on the culinary scene, Bistro Jeanty stands out because of their respectful approach to great food. Top dishes are boeuf bourginon, crispy pied au Cochon, sole meunière, and the stunning Steak au Poivre (my choice) encrusted in grainy black pepper with a sinfully delicious mushroom sauce. My husband's Steak Frites was also lovely, and the side of Brussels sprouts braised with chunky bacon is a must-have. Service was a bit too relaxed on a summer evening and I had to send the filet back because it was overcooked but the new, perfectly to medium rare temperature was presented under 10 minutes later. Chef Jeanty gets it by not overdoing food, simply respecting it. Bravo!"

  • "The cassoulet was recommended. I never had had cassoulet; I may never try it again. The ingredients were there; beans, bacon, sausage, duck. Individually each had suitable taste. The dish, however, seemed to be covered so thickly with panko bread crumbs and some atrocious green herbs that it became like a wallpaper paste texture and had a wallpaper paste taste. I had three spoon fulls, shared it with my dinner mates (who turned up their noses),ate the duck and just drank wine. No-one ever asked how I liked my dinner. Even the busboy failed to notice 85% remaining."

  • "Located downtown Yountville (AKA: Restaurant Row) in a charming building that looks as if it were located in France. Are you looking for a TRUE French Bistro . . . you've found it. The Creme De Tomate en Croute $12 (tomato soup in a puff pastry) is simply amazing. Tomato soup is something I would never order in a restaurant, as tomato soup is tomato soup . . . right? . . . I mean how good can tomato soup be? You'll be a changed person when you order this version, as it's Crazy Good - NOTE: don't share or go mmmm, as you won't get it back. The Parfait De Foie Blond $14 (duck liver mousse with brioche) is over the top. The Cassoulet ($25.50) to the Coq Au Vin ($18.50) is MEMORABLE. CAUTION: It can get VERY LOUD in the back 2nd dining room"

  • "What a wonderful place, best heirlooms I've ever had, and the tomato soup.... Wow, I had the veal chop it was out of this world, being a GM for a restaurant I can appreciate how much love was put into the food!!"

  • "fair at best, waiter came over to take order, didnt stop by to ask how things were. had coq au vin which was fair...nothing special...expect better service than this as it was NOT busy. can see why with this service level. cant not recommend and will not be returning."

  • "Our waiter went out of his way to make sure we tried everything! He would suggest items on the menu and with his decriptions we were tempted to try everything, including items off the bar menu! Cute place with nice patio dining. I loved the halibut and I am picky about fish! the desserts were scrumptious."
