Bistro JeantyExcellent French BistroExcellent french menu; imaginative specials; food was really excellent. Service was attentive. $150 including 1/2 bottle of wine - and no dessert -which is not moderate. But we would certainly return5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA must do everytime I visitA must do everytime I visit Napa Valley. The new outside pation with heat lamps is perfect for the cooler nights. Loved my dining experience and will continue to recommend and return to Bistro Jeanty. !5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellenceBistro Jeanty came highly recommended and was everything it was described to be. Delicious.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTHE BEST restaurant in Yountville!!You will definitely not want to miss eating at Bistro Jeanty - lunch or dinner! The food was to die for and the service was fabulous! Our waiter, Roger, was delightful, helpful and knew exactly when to be there or not! (DEFINITELY ASK FOR ROGER!) We ate at several of the more famous restaurants in the area, but none compared.....we actually came back to Bistro Jeanty for expresso and their fabulous, home-made, caramel-salt ice cream! (Not too sweet - just the best ice cream ever!) Can't say enough about our perfect dining experiences!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy find!We cannot wait to return! Rabbit pâté & duck cassoulet were spectacular! Not to be missed. Excellent service.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMYou'll think you are in Paris!Bistro Jeanty never fails to disappoint. They have truly captured the food and ambiance of an authentic Paris bistro. Staff are friendly and knowedgable, food is always excellent. Don't miss it!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSweet dinnerChocolate mousse creme brûlée was to die for!!! Little crowded.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will give it another try.The food looked great on everyone else's table, but we ordered the sea bass special which was flat in flavor. The ratatouille was not memorable. This was disappointing, since we had such high expectations and it was so expensive. The tables were in close proximity and we visited with other diners on each side. They had great dishes and recommended the restaurant highly. We enjoyed our smoked trout potato salad and the wine that was recommended. Service was outstanding. A very friendly place to be.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat SpotLoved this restaurant! Food was outstanding, server was friendly and chatty, and the overall ambience was terrific! I highly recommend this restaurant in Yountville, home for Napa wines. Just down the street from the famous French Laundry, Bistro Jeanty (prounced Jahn-Tee) was a gem that we found from a friend's recommendation. Great selection on the menu, and the house specialty Tomato Bisque with Pastry top was the best ever. All our meals were outstanding and the server was great with descriptions and recommendations.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMNapa s bestMy favorite in Napa Valley. Food good, nice wines. It's the real country French deal.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Bistro JeantyWe love Bistro Jeanty, just wonderful food. Tradicional French dishes, simple , rustic and at their best. Their beef stew , tomato soup, And the Pot de créme are a must try. Charming place, relaxed athmosphere, and great service, the staff is always very attentive. We will be back to this restaurant!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect!5 of us ate dinner here to celebrate a birthday. Ages from 9-72, and the menu had enough variety to satisfy all taste ranges. The special was Spring rack of lamb -amazing! We enjoyed a range of cocktails, from dry martinnis to Tom Collins, so the bar is well stocked and staffed by knowledgable tenders. For dessert we shared a super fun "chocolate bag" filled with a fresh berry smoothie-a great hit and the 9-yr old loved eating the bag. We were treated excellently, with discreet staff that removed plates when appropriate and brought new items and accountrements without being asked. All-in-all an outstanding resturant for those who appreciate fresh food cooked perfectly, served by attentive and professional staff.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExemplary restaurant in YountvilleMake this your first dining destination, and don't make the mistake we did of going to Bottega first because of the hype. No comparison, this place is divive, every dish sensational, wonderful service.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVED IT....THE FOOD WAS FABULOUS,LOVED IT....THE FOOD WAS FABULOUS, WAITSTAFF FRIENDLY, AMBIANCE WONDERFUL4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappoints. Of course no one can resist their cream of tomato soup...so popular you can link to the recipe to make it yourself :) Great time and great service. Head to Yountville for great French Cuisine. Oui!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been dining at BistroWe have been dining at Bistro for many years. Our favorite to celebrate our Anniversary.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNo compalints. Service wasNo compalints. Service was great. Food deliciosu. We had a 8:45 dinner reservation and at that point the restaurant was VERY noisy and it was dificult to want to talk becasuae it was such a strain to hear. But, by 9:30 things improved.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMfour friends diningWe actually sent 4 friends to this restaurant under my reservation with OpenTable.com. They had a great time; the food & service was excellent. Had a very charming and fun waiter.
The only problem was this: I had called ahead and requested that their bill for the evening be put on my credit card. I gave the gentleman at the restaurant all my credit card information, what percentage I wanted to leave for a tip, etc., etc. This dinner was to be my treat.
When I saw my friends the next day, I discovered that this news was never related to them! They ended up paying for the dinner and tip themselves! I was not happy, and plan to talk to the manager at this restaurant.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the very few placesOne of the very few places to get great traditional French country fare in an equally great country setting.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA Must!Every time I am in Napa Valley, Bistro Jeanty is a must! Everything is outstanding! Don't miss it!!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWould like to give 4 1/2 starsWould like to give 4 1/2 stars if could. All that I hoped for in a french bistro. wish our food in Paris was this good.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic French Cuisine in Napa VallSome of the best meals we have had in Napa Valley have been at Bistro Jeanty. The menu is classic French cuisine prepared with a focus on balanced flavors. The staff is highly attentive without being obtrusive. There are always a chalkboard full of specials and servers who can guide you through the menu and wine list. Bistro Jeanty is the perfect place to experience the Napa Valley.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food! Good service!Great food! Good service! and they let us bring out dog to the outdoor patio and even provided a bowl of water for him.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed our dinner in BistroEnjoyed our dinner in Bistro Jeanty. We had escargot and the fried smelt with aoili for appetizers, short ribs and rib eye for mains and the bread pudding for dessert. Everything was delicious! The escargot was very buttery, the smelt was so unique and the braised rib was so elegantly presented and outright fantastic! The rib-eye was ok - its not your five-star steak restaurant rib-eye that am used to in Houston; but the fries that came with it was simply oustanding. Bread pudding for dessert just rounded this perfect meal. We also brought our own wine - $20 corkage. They have good wine selections but we wanted to bring something we enjoyed during our winery visit.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOff the beaten track. We wentOff the beaten track. We went to Napa Valley just to go here and Dean and DeLucca's. The food was delicious, reminded us of our trip to Paris and Rouen. The onion soup was very good as was the quiche.
We ate on the patio. Be careful you don't get sunburned. Even though the patio is covered, the sun poked its way through the slats and was still quite bright and warm. Even still, lovely.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMTres bienThe tomato soup en croute is their specialty dish nd deserves its title. We shared the coq au vin as French food is not light fare. Very lively atmosphere. Waiters are very attentive without being in your face.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant, especiallyWonderful restaurant, especially for lunch on a beautiful day. Eating on the patio is just fantastic. Relaxed, comfortable, almost European/Mediterranean in ambiance. Maybe my favorite dining experience in Napa. Always go there when in Napa.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBistro Jeanty, formidable!Bistro Jeanty is CONSISTENTLY AWESOME! Phillipe and team do a great job, every time!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is amazing,This restaurant is amazing, by far our favorite find during our eight days in the Napa Valley. Be sure to try the tomato soup in puff pastry (WOW) and my beef bourguignon was spectacular. Skip Bouchon and go to Bistro Jeanty twice instead!!!!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBistro Jeanty as always wasBistro Jeanty as always was over the top from Ellie who answered my call regarding a late arrival to our waiter and of course the food we ate. The food and the ambiance were what we had expected.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dinner, everythingWonderful dinner, everything tasted great and the service was incredible.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOur Favorite in Napa ValleyBistro Jeanty prepares exceptional, authentic french food in simple french fashion, using fresh, seasonal ingredients and delicious sauces. Theirs are not the extremely sophisticated preparations replete with re-purposed ingredients and mind-boggling presentations like you find at the French Laundry or, to a lesser extent, Bouchon. Their food is straight forward, fresh and delicious, but with elevated flavors and controlled sophistication and complexity. If you lived in the french countryside and dined with the neighbor who was reputed to be the best cook in the region, that's Bistro Jeanty. The atmosphere is delightfully, casually french, very charming and friendly. Bistro Jeanty is our favorite Napa Valley restaurant.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough we were seated inAlthough we were seated in what seemed like an old garage, once the food came and they turned the heater on, all was well. Fabulous country French faire. Heirloom Beets with mache salad - excellent. Daube de Boeuf - excellent. Cassoulet - excellent. 2010 Elyse Petite Syrah - excellent. Unfortunately we had to stop because we couldn't eat any more for dessert. Maybe next time.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMenu rarely changes and neverMenu rarely changes and never needs to. Everything is perfectly made and delicious.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMDeeeee-lishI always love coming here. My sister and her family were visiting. This has become a regular place to eat. The food is also tasty and consistent. Although not a light meal, I find if you share parts of your meal, it's not as heavy. The must try:
1) Tomato bisque in puff pastry
2) Lentils with pork belly
3) French fries
I always look forward to eating here....!!!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFOOD IS JUST GREAT. WARMFOOD IS JUST GREAT. WARM LAMB TONGUE POTATO SALAD IS SO GOOD. WIIL THE WAITER WAS FULLY ATTENTIVE BUT NOT OVERLY SO.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time atThis was my first time at Bistro Jeanty and it will not be my last! The Boeuf Bourguignon was outstanding!!! The three people I was with also loved the food. Good wait staff also. A little noisy, but I think it was because everyone was so happy about their choice to go there.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTrue French bistro menu -True French bistro menu - tomato or onion soup topped with a flaky crust, mussels, stews, etc. All yummy. You can never use too much butter! The only drawback is that it is so loud you have to shout to be heard and a conversation at the table is next to impossible.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA High Quality Dining ExperienceWe dined on the outdoor covered patio. I would strongly recommend it. I indoor dining room was tight, loud and stuffy during prime times, even mid-week. The service was attentive and prompt. The food was very good, not as inspired as some places in the valley, but no complaints. Overall, a very enjoyable experience at a reasonable price.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, excellant. OneAs always, excellant. One of my favorites in the valley.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTres bien merci! We had lunch here. Most of the patrons were sitting out side so,we had the inside nearly to ourselves. Service was almost too efficient. I took a drink of water and my glass was quickly attended to with a refill. I think this was due the ratio of wait staff on hand wanting to keep busy. the food was AMAZING! The tomato bisque is a must. The atmosphere was nice lending to the air of France. I will be back as often as possible.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite restaurant in YountvilleIt was a beautiful spring day in Yountville so my sister and I had lunch out on the patio. We shared the lentil appetizer and rabbit wrapped in pancetta pasta - both were amazing! Our waiter suggested Alexana, a Willamette Valley Pinot, that paired very nicely with our food. We topped off our meal with the meringue lemon tart that was as delicious as the first time I had it a year ago. Wonderful food and attentive wait staff. By far my favorite restaurant in Yountville!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time there after a recommendaFirst time there after a recommendation from a very good friend. She was correct, Bistro Jeanty is a gem of a restaurant. The food and service were outstanding. Great stop while visiting the wine country.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBistro Jeanty is a wonderfullyBistro Jeanty is a wonderfully authentic french bistro with excellent food. It is lively and noisy but the atmosphere is fun. The food is excellent as was the service. The beet salad was perfectly balanced with flavor and we split the Beef Bourguignon which was rich with fabulous flavors. I highly recommend the creme brulee topped with chocolate mousse. The waiter was knowledgeable and prompt and the wine list was extensive. Fun evening.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food. A littleOutstanding food. A little too loud for my taste, specially being a high priced franchise restaurant, but didn't really mind.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA favorite of ours. ServiceA favorite of ours. Service was impeccable and food wonderful. Quieter outdoors which was well heated and very comfy.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
