Bistro JeantyDuck RilletteWe enjoyed everything. Bistro Jeantry never fails to deliver great food and service. We had a great evening!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFathers Day perfect dinnerWhat a great meal -- one of the best since we moved to san francisco 18 months ago.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply delicious! My first bite was soooo flavorful.(sea bass) It was accompanied by a delicious ratatouille and whipped pest potatoes...all perfectly flavored.
This is one restaurant we can always depend upon in the Napa Valley.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointedWe have been at Bistro Jeanty numerous times in the past 15 years and we are never disappointed. It is worth a drive from the Bay Area just for dinner!. You want to try everything on the menu but need to keep some space if you want to taste some of their amazing desserts. We had the sole and the lamb chops as main course and it was simply amazing. Appetizers: bone marrow and quenelle de brochet (pike mousseline in a lobster sauce). You have to try it. Again, the taste is out of this world. Service is perfect and discrete.
I am going back soon.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMit was a pleasure.Well, that is what sums it up.."it was a pleasure to eat here". Every time I said thank you to the waiter he would say in French, 'my pleasure'. No really it was my pleasure to be able to have a wonderful sunday lunch. The flavors exploded in my mouth. The vegetable tureen to the last course an apple tart...this meal was truly a complete pleasure. The French know how to eat and drink and thank goodness we get to experience it. In the dictionary pleasure means enjoyment or satisfaction...well need I say anything more. We will return.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Experience, except for DogThe setting, employees, tomato soup in puff pastry, beef bourguignon, and even ice-cold beer were absolutely perfect. Our best meal in 10 days in California. Only one down-side, and it was a substantial one, was a patron who brought their dog, who peed on the beautiful tree next to our dining table as they left (the dog peed, not the patron!). Really? Really? We're tourists from outside Cali, and this whole taking doggie to dinner thing seems odd to us, especially in such a fine restaurant.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific experienceWhat a great dining opportunity. The wine recommendation of Caldwell's Black Chicken Zin could not have been improved.
Presentation was very nice and the tournedos where perfect. Our party of four had service that was absolutely as professional as any we have ever experienced.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMYou simply cannot go wrongIt is hard for us to spend a weekend in Napa and to pass up a stop at Bistro Jeanty. We have been delighted every time. I cannot imagine a disappointed patron. You just cannot go wrong choosing this restaurant for either lunch or dinner. I like it for a late lunch on a weekend. Try the Duck Con-fit and goat cheese pate and the Cassoulette.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMNever fails to please my taste budsBistro Jeanty is excellent. The food is to die for. I get the sole every time I come here and it just melts in my mouth. My husband got the lamb, which was succulent and delicious (although he usually gets the steak, which is magnificent!). For dessert, we had an orange and chocolate pot de creme, which was a perfect treat after a long day of biking around Napa.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench BistroGreat French bistro food and service. Very noisy but worth the wait and consistant food. Very good wine list.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMTomato cream soup, lyonnaiseTomato cream soup, lyonnaise salad and beef stew were spectacular!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMPatio diningWe came in without a reservation and were placed outside which we thought was going to be great. But it was very crowded and the sun was right in our eyes the whole time. We would have rather been told you did not have space for us than put us in a bad location.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMspendy pleasureTook my friend here for a birthday treat. What a splurge! We really enjoyed sitting outdoors on a comfortable evening. Nice ambiance, tasty food, good service, though we were encouraged (by a point of waiter's finger) to purchase a very expensive bottle of wine. We declined. Still, I dropped 2x as much $$ as I had planned to: nearly $200 with tip, and we shared an app and a dessert! My bad... should have done my homework about prices, as even a half bottle put us considerably over budget. Must wait a long while before I can repeat this experience.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTop Notch!Top notch service (host staff, wait staff and bus staff) and outstanding food make this restaurant a must for any "foodie" to visit Napa/Yountville. Stay at the Bardessono and walk to Bistro Jeanty (and waddle home after an amazing meal). The vegetables in this town are the freshest I've ever encountered and what the chef did with Asparagus is worthy of an award. Literally, the best Asparagus I've ever had the pleasure of eating (and this is coming from a die-hard carnivore - for whom vegetables are more of a "garnish" than something to rave about). We started with the tomato bisque under puff pastry and the special Asparagus salad. My husband had the Bouef Bourguignon (comforting goodness) and I had the special Rack of Lamb. Love!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe culinary highlight of our tripWe loved everything about our dinner at Bistro Jeanty. The servicer was attentive and knowledgeable, the ambiance was lovely, and our dinner was great. We ordered mostly from the specials list. My beloved raved about his fish soup, and we both enjoyed the excellent Black Cod. I wasn't all that crazy about the dessert (apple tart), but I should have asked questions about how it was prepared (my fault). In all, a great meal.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench Bistro GemThe food was delicious and very authentic feeling French ambiance.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant does not disappointThis restaurant does not disappoint. The food was wonderful, as was the service.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMgood french cuisineIt was a great evening to sit outside, which I enjoyed. The food was delicious and the service very friendly and helpful.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMPitch PerfectIt was a lovely cap to a wine country visit! The warm, charming and relaxed setting combined with the food that was impeccably cooked and flavorful made a superb experience. We enjoyed the tomato soup en croute, mussels in red wine, black cod and the most delicious lemon tart with voluminous meringue which were all memorable.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways my first stop for dinner!Bistro Jeanty is a very consistent, off-the-charts, dining experience. I had the famous tomato soup (I always get this) and Petrale sole entree. I don't know how a chef can make a piece of fish taste so spectacularly fantastic! I had the same waiter before and he was knowledgeable and attentive. On my recommendation, my guest had the rack of lamb and was not disappointed. I will be back again!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGood foodI had a steak which was very tasty. I thought that my steak could have been offered with a side like risotto or potato. Overall I enjoyed my meal and so did my husband.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a winnerWe always go here when in Yountville. Always a great meal!!!!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMBistro JeantyGreat food, however, service was poor. I don't recommend a group because the place is loud. Great for 1 or 2 couples. Great food and ambiance over came the poor service.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTrue French BistroGreat food! Was there for lunch and enjoyed every minute of it!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA great experienceFirst time there and first time having bone marrow, which was amazing! Our server was friendly, hilarious, and knowledgeable. We'll be back!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Experience!Must-have tomato soup en croute - to die for. Steak and pork dishes also memorable. Great service. Good wine list. Outside dining good, not great. Good experience.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorites in Yountville. One of our favorites in Yountville. Always stop in for lunch when in town! Highly recommend to all travelling through Wine Country!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA must stop for us every timeA must stop for us every time we're in Napa. Been here 3 times over the past three years... all excellent experiences. Sign of a great restaurant...consistency! The salmon carpaccio is devine, had the fish special and filet...yummy. Service was great.
Look forward to returning next year.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMLived up to its reputationLived up to its reputation as a Five Star
restaurant. One of the best meals I have ever had.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, lousy waiterWhat a waste!!! An incredible menu but unfortunately the employees are unable to fulfill their duties. The food was delicious but not served in a timely manner. Our patience was truly tested but fortunately, the food was worth the wait.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMCute and deliciousThe restulaurant is small but adorable, and the food is just amazing. The fish dishes were extremely fresh and well prepared - best I have tried in North California. Order a chocolate creme brulee to end!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a lovely, popularThis is a lovely, popular neighborhood bistro with superb classic French food. The service was excellent--hospitable and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is lively, happy and a little crowded--be prepared to sit in close proximity to other diners--but that is all part of the informal charm. Try the signature tomato soup with puff pastry, the pigs feet appetizer, and of course the local wines. For a glorious culinary experience in a less formal, happy and friendly atmosphere, this is your place for a taste of Napa.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHeavenly DinnerConsistently excellent, I've never had a bad meal here. The baked Camebert was pungent and gooey, the Lamb Chops perfection as was the Steak au Poivre. Crepe Suzettes were light as a feather and the Chocolate Creme Brulee heaven. The setting in downtown Yountville is lovely and is within walking distance of the many hotels and inns there. Great wine list, too.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperbThe tomato soup with puff pasty is unreal. The beef stew was so flavorful -sweet carrots and onions, fork tender and delicious beef in a rich broth. For dessert the bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream is my go to dish . I have had three different kinds now and all are outstanding. This place never disappoints.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic. Every time we visitFantastic. Every time we visit yountville, we make a point to come here.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic French cuisine, TomatoClassic French cuisine, Tomato Bisque en croute is wonderful. Service is friendly and accommodating. Good portions.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you love tomato soup, thisIf you love tomato soup, this is the one. May be the best I have ever eaten. The sole was also excellent.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Good, Always ReliableBistro Jeanty is a mainstay in Yountville. We ate lunch there, this time. We started with the French Champagne cocktail to go with our onion soup and pate campagne, all of which were outstanding (especially the pate). We then had a half-bottle of Rombauer Chardonnay to go with our quiche and butter lettuce salad. It is so nice when a restaurant carries half-bottles when there are just two people dining. The quiche was delicate, delicious, and plentiful. The salad was dressed with a perfect dressing. We finished with cappucccinos and a lemon tart (the tart was scrumptious). You rarely make a bad choice when dinining in Yountville. Bistro Jeanty is always good and always reliable: the service is excellent and the food is grand.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful eveningWe had a wonderful evening at Bistro Jeanty. The food was outstanding with a subtle touch of innovation added to classic French fare. Service was attentive but not intrusive, and we were fortunate enough to sit on the patio in perfect evening weather. I would definitely go back to try some of the other wonderful dishes on offer.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBest part was that it wasBest part was that it was a short walk from our hotel. Service was very good. I had the boeuf bourguignon which was served
with buttered noodles and carrots. It was delicious! Food more country french. Would definitely return.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary tripHave eaten at Bistro Jeanty many times. Have always enjoyed our food. This time I ordered the steak frites and the steak was very grisly. Unable to eat most of the steak. Was prepared as requested (medium rare). Was very disappointed in the quality of the steak. My husband ordered the Mediterranean fish which was very good. We were also placed at a vey small table for two in a corner. Was a relatively slow night so no sure why we were not seated at a table for four. If the restaurant was full I would have understood.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWould go again!Delicious food and great service. Would absolutely go again!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always stop at Bistro JeantyMy wife and I enjoyed a delightful lunch on Sunday May 19, 2013 at Bistro Jeanty. We always arrange to have a meal at Bistro Jeanty whenever we visit the Napa Valley. We started with the Pate' de Campagne (country style pate') with cornichons. Excellent without the sometimes pasty texture that more processed pate' can have. My wife had the quiche while I had my favorite - Cassoulet. We could not have asked for a better meal. Service was perfectly attentive - there when you needed them but not intrusive. We sat on the Patio on a perfect Napa Valley morning. Magic!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways enjoyable we've neverAlways enjoyable we've never been disapointed Ever!!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMYountville gemWonderful staff, excellent food, great atmosphere! Great French food served with personality in a town known for food!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Bistro Jeanty. We goLove Bistro Jeanty. We go quite often, and it is like being in a small family bistro in France. Staff is kind and professional, and we love the petrale sole, with a side of ratatouille. Lunch is fun, as well. Will always continue to patronize this place.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit andThis was our first visit and well worth it. They were very accommodating when
We asked to be moved from inside to outside due to a very noisy table directly behind
us. We worried that outside would be too cold but they had heaters above each table
so we were fine after all. Service was great and the food amazing. We will definitely return.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLove dining at Bistro JeantyWe love to come at happy hour for the oysters in the half shell. Then we stay to enjoy other goodies on the menu. Bistro Jeanty is one of our favorite restaurants in Napa Valley. From the moment you enter, you are transported to a charming French bistro in the countryside. The menu features dishes that are the what I love when I've dined in the French countryside. And the flavors are delicious.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNever Dissapoints!A must stop in Napa Valley. Great food, service and atmosphere, you will not be dissapointed!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent French BistroExcellent french menu; imaginative specials; food was really excellent. Service was attentive. $150 including 1/2 bottle of wine - and no dessert -which is not moderate. But we would certainly return5/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
