We have been coming to this restaurant every time we come to the Manchester/Bromley area. Although we haven't been here in a few years, so much remains the same....the staff are still very friendly, chatty and very supportive of the menu. They are knowledgeable of every dish offered and are helpful to those who need direction as to what to order. The menu has expanded and offers a number of great dishes, meat and fish. Our family has always loved the duck dish and it did not disappoint. I ordered the lamb shank and was quite pleased with the size and preparation of my meal. The meat was very tender and easily came off of the bone. Traditionally, we order the profiteroles for dessert because they are a homemade treat.

Yelp displayed mixed reviews about this restaurant, and after going I can understand. The dishes were way overpriced ($13) for 3 raviolis- in which were not made by themselves. The ambience wasn't anything to get excited about. However, staff was friendly and helpful.

Most of the food was ok... Nothing to rave about. Seared foie was excellent, onion soup was a little odd(rye), bisque was good, filet sliders undressed and unseasoned, lamb shank good. Meal took 1:45 for a twotop.

We chose this restaurant from a dining guide hoping for a good experience on a busy Columbus Day weekend and were not disappointed. Excellent. Food was cooked to order. We made reservations through open table but decided to sit at the bar when we got there because it looked like fun. The bartender was very busy but never neglected us. The food was fresh, down to the salad. Varied menu. Something for everyone. Drinks were also excellent. We'll come back next Columbus Day!

food was very good. I was surprised at lack of effort to make the dining room a little nicer, there were no table cloths on the tables and framed posters on the walls, felt like i was eating in a cafe. if you can overlook the ambiance, the meal was prepared and served very well.

The dining room was less than half full. The service was slow. The entire meal, prime rib, green beans, mushrooms, was greasy. Edible, not memorable. Now I undestand why I got a 7:00 reservation made at 5:30 on a Saturday evening.

My wife and I were on a trip through New England and had stopped for a couple of nights in Manchester, VT. After some research on Trip Advisor, we wanted to try Bistro Henry. What a delight! We had an early reservation so we were ahead of the crowd and that contributed to our rating the noise level as "quiet." That may have changed later as the place filled up. The food was truly outstanding and prepared exactly as requested. An absolute pleasure to the palate.

Visited 7/11/14- Arugula salad was delicious, 9oz. Bistro Sirlon was cooked perfectly and the chimicurra I chose as the sauce was excellent so was my dates horseradish sauce! Excellent desserts- I had the cheesecake "pops" one was peanut butter- sooo good-it was my birthday, so it was nice to have a candle on top. My Cosmo was really good too. Our main server was lovely as were all of the young ladies that stopped at the table. An overall lovely evening dining out in Manchester, VT.

We ate here on a Saturday evening in April. Too bad it was very chilly and we could not be outside to enjoy the wonderful VT scenery. The restaurant is obviously popular and they pack the tables in, but it was still comfortable. The waitress was very nice and attentive, albeit maybe a bit overwhelmed that evening. She did a good job trying to keep up with her tables. Unfortunately we never received any bread, but the appetizers were wonderful, and I enjoyed the Prime Rib (the special of the night). My husband had Halibut that he enjoyed. We would definitely return.

Bistro Henry was a charming apres-ski dining surprise at the foothills of the Green Mountains. It served an eclectic Mediterranean-style menu. I enjoyed the Prince Edward Island mussels, served in a generous portion. The linguine and lobster combination was very attractive in its warm cream sauce. Although there were several dessert choices, I found the smooth sorbet ices to be very soothing.

My husband and I were looking for a nice place for dinner, while in Manchester. We found that BH's reviews were very consistent with our experience. The bread and goat cheese salad were amazing, the wines delicious (merlot and cab) and we really enjoyed our desserts. My husband got the duck, which he enjoyed; however, he didn't find the noodles notable. I had the steak with fries -steak was just ok. I had to send it back to the kitchen bc was served medium, when I ordered rare. They were really nice about it. We also got the risotto, which was very well done. Overall, I'd say we had a great experience and would certainly return there for a meal. I would probably try a different main course, as the food flanking it were far better.

Have been eating at this restaurant during President's Week annually for the past 4-5 years. Our last visit (2013) was not a very good experience as we had to wait an abnormal amount of time for our food and some of the orders did not come out. The management was not at all apologetic. We decided to give the restaurant another try and am happy to say they have improved quite a bit. Service was very good and food was good. I think some of the servers are more engaging and it just depends who you get that night.

I've explored a few of the restaurants in town, including a very highly regarded French restaurant. This has been the best of them, with high-end appetizers and entrees, good portions, notable desserts (of which we have heard but not sampled, as we could not comfortably have done so), and an impressive wine list. The price is good, as my wife and I each had an appetizer and an entree and shared a bottle of wine for just under $120. Bisque and crab cakes were excellent, duck was the best I've had in some time, and the steak au poivre was, if a bit zesty (they warn you on the menu!), also good. The tourist set disregards the "no electronic devices" request on the menu, but the atmosphere and service are also high-end.

It was a Wednesday night, and the restaurant wasn't at all crowded; the welcome was warm, the fireplace made the room inviting, and the service was friendly and efficient. The menu contains something for everyone. The foie gras medallions melted like butter once inside my appreciative mouth, and my main course of lamb chops was delicious. Sadly, I did not make it clear that I liked my lamb on the rare side, but even cooked to medium it was tender and flavorful; the fault was mine not the chef's. My companion loved the rabbit, which seldom appears on a menu. We shared a pecan pie with cranberry ice cream for dessert which would satisfy any southern-born diner (which I am!). Not an inexpensive meal, but the quality was worth it.

I had not been to Bistro Henry's for some time, so I was very surprised that in a town where dining is becoming increasingly out of my budget, that I could still have a full-course gourmet meal with excellent wine for $40 per person. This included appetizers and aperitifs for all, main course, a $70 bottle of wine, and a shared dessert. The atmosphere is upscale casual, as is the food. The specials we had, lamb chops with thyme sauce and veal braised in ale, where generous and delicious. The service was efficient, friendly, and patient.

The food was fabulous. And the atmosphere is quaint. Great that it is moderately kid friendly for well-behaved kids. Small kid menu, but not over priced like other places on a holiday evening(New Years eve) where other places charge $20 for a hot dog ! This is a definite place to go back to. Friendly service with a genuine interest in the customer. Not phony like other places . Well-done!

We traveled to Southern Vermont for the weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday, and I picked Bistro Henry for dinner after looking at many restaurants in the area -- and I'm glad I did! My husband declared that his meal (the gnocchi with beef ragu) made his (short) list of "best meals ever." I had the duck which I thought was fabulous, too, and the small plates provided great options for our 11 year old. The simple green salad was also perfect -- fresh and flavorful.
