  • "The restaurant continues to disappoint again with poor service with an attitude and subpar food! All our meat dishes (five of us) was over cooked that had to be sent back, no choice of a fish dish on the menu at all and on top of that you end up getting an attitude from the waiters that you should be so lucky to be there! The restaurant should seriously consider changing it's chef and the waiters!"

  • "We went for family dinner Sat. evening for mothers day & it was a disaster. There was a wedding party in the back & a communion on one side. We never saw our waitress once our order was taken: no one came to check on us. We had to hijack another wait staff as they went by to ask for what we needed. It was not a fun mother's day for me who rarely has her children together: One lives in San Franciisco ."

  • "The server should not recite the specials until all parties are seated. Food was excellent as usual but our party of six agreed that the young man who was handling our table appeared to be doing so for the first time. After our meal the valet could not locate my car for nearly ten minutes and he suggested that I may have parked my own car. I asked him to consider how I got my hands on the vehicle claim ticket if I self-parked. The next day I discovered that one of the valets left his I-Pod in my car's cup holder. I drove back to the restaurant and presented the I-Pod to the bartender. This is a fine restaurant but at times it seems that the staff fails to deliver the level of service found in the other "Bistro" locations."

  • "We usually enjoy our meals at Bistro Citron very much. Unfortunately, this dining experience was not a good one. The food was not up to its normal standards. My frisee salad was underdressed and under-seasoned. The burger was dry and served on a bun that completely overwhelmed it. Two friends felt similarly about their meals--bland skirt steak and underwhelming duck. The best dishes of the night were mussels provencal and crepes suzette for dessert. The service was also lacking. The young waiter and the bus staff were working very hard, but meals came out at different times, we had to ask a few times for utensils, drinks were not delivered. This was a bad night, but we will go back based on the better experiences we've had here before."

I loved the convenience of the parking lot, not having to wait for a table, the great ambience, friendly and attentive staff, and of course most importantly the generous potions of the great tasting food. Had the corn chowder as a starter, that alone will get me to return to this neighborhood gem."

  • "Ordered smoked salmon and dill cream cheese on baguette. Food arrived with tasteless salmon, lettuce and tasteless tomatoes, both dripping with oil and with no cream cheese. When I asked about the missing cream cheese the waitress replied" do you want cream cheese?" She brought back a small dish of emulsified cream cheese which had never been introduced to dill. My wife had a salad niscoise that was pedestrian. Citron specializes in tasteless. One star for nice view."

  • "Had eaten there numerous times and food was always excellent with good, attentive service. This past Saturday night, however, the service was slow and the food was mediocre at best. I had the grilled tuna, which I've had before and loved, and this time it was tasteless. It came with couscous, which was ice cold - like straight out of the fridge - when I mentioned it to the waiter I was told it was supposed to be that way. The three others in our party were disappointed too. The service was slow, we had to request fresh pepper for our salads and food, and they forgot to bring us things we ordered. Overall a very disappointing experience - it is unlikely we will return."

Service was good at first, but as they got busy, the less we saw our server. The brunch was okay, but would like to come back to try dinner too. Good experience and nice staff."

  • "My family came here on Mothers Day. Cute restaurant but shocked at how unorganized they were and level of service. Our waiter did not understand english therefore we had a difficult time ordering. Food took an extremely long time to come out but it was very good once it did. We also were charged for a bloody mary which was part of the brunch meal, not an addition. I guess I would go back, but not on a holiday as they clearly can't handle the rush. We also asked for tea 3 times, and finally my mother in law got it at the end of her meal, even thou she ordered it before we even ordered our meals! "

  • "Food was good a plentiful. Service was not bad. The noise in the restaurant ruined the meal. We couldn't talk at all. It was way too loud. Also, we had asked for a stand alone table when we made the reservation, and instead we were given a booth at the bar, or told we would have to wait for a "long time." Too bad the little things ruined an otherwise good meal."

  • "Visited 2X during LI Restaurant week. In spite of very slow (but friendly) service on 1st visit, the food made us want to come back for more. Service slightly better on 2nd visit but attribute this to being prepared to order as soon as waitress arrived. Food was fresh & delicious on both visits -- from warm crusty french bread through to dessert. Salade d'ete absolutely wonderful -- bright succulent watermelon on greens w/goat cheese. Caramelized onion tart appetizer was decadent. Main courses of salmon, chicken, burger all very good. French bistro ambiance is warm & promotes good conversation. Understand there is outdoor seating when weather permits (overlooks Roslyn Duck Pond). Will return again (but not when rushed for time)."

  • "We ate here during restaurant week. Two of our party ordered off the Prix Fixe, two ordered off the regular menu. The appetizers and main dishes were very good. The service was good, the wine list was good and not overly priced. However, the Prix Fixe had "Crème Brule." When we ordered that, we were told they were out of it and there was a bread pudding substitution. However, as we left the restaurant, we saw the Crème Brule being served to other tables. What became apparent to us was that it was taken off the Prix Fixe. The restaurant should reprinted menus or honored the menu we were given or told us the truth up front. I don't like the lie or cheesy way they handled this."

  • "For a high-priced restaurant in a prime location, Bistro Citron is a bit of a fraud. Yes, it was LI restaurant week, but management should be prepared for that. First, we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated, even though we had a reservation. Then, it took about 25 minutes before our server showed up to take drink orders, despite us asking the bus person to please send our server over. The food was good, but not top shelf. The entree I had, a chicken with goat cheese, peaches and greens had unripened peaches, hard with no flavor. The chicken, though tasty, was smothered in green salad. In the end, the entree was more of a goat cheese salad with chicken. The onion tart appetizer was delicious but also overwhelmed by greens."

While we were enjoying our quiet and coffee, two young staffers began rearranging all the furniture to get ready for a larger party. Could they not have waited? "

  • "We have been to Bistro Citron both for brunch and dinner a while ago. We needed a restaurant to dine in after the movie in Roslyn. Through Open Table we saw that Bistro Citron was available. The meal was excellent, from appetizer to dessert, and the service was excellent. Will definitely return!"

  • "We loved it the moment we walked in. Kim was very friendly and patient with us changing our reservation twice. The waitress was a bit strange. That's the best way to put it. Not very friendly. A little shy. We thought maybe she was new. She forgot to ask us certain things( I.e. would you like sauce on your skirt steak?) and she didn't understand when we asked for more bread, instead she brought us butter. Which was really not a big deal. But when added to the rest of her service it made a difference. That is the con, otherwise we loved the Bistro Citron. We are especially grateful for the Restaurant week being extended by them for a special holy day for many. "

  • "The food was OK but the price a little steep for LI. Prices are comparable to Manhattan, where the food is better. However, this is a convenient location , so I didn't mind the price. Had escargot, Caesar salad, onion tarte, salmon, steak au poirve, pork cutlet and filet of sole meuniere. Dessert consisted of crepe and some apple pudding? P.S. wine prices were reasonable , but Johnny Walker black was Manhattan price ($14) a shot."
