The restaurant offers the traditional french bistro dishes such as duck confit, sweetbreads, salade Lyonnaise and onion soup and beef tartare. Indulge in our delicious rissoto with seared scallops and lobster sauce.
On Saturdays and Sundays, when you are out near Golden Gate Parc, feel at home in Paris on our heated Terrasse as you indulge in traditional American egg dishes and one of the best french toast in San Francisco. Bienvenue et Bon Appetit!

Diner Reviews
  • "Really loved it...arrived early and spent a long time there...but did not feel rushed to leave...Mussels are excellent which we shared and the Halibut special that night was wonderful..moist and delicious....can't say enough about this restaurant!"

  • "We've been here a few other times before and remembered being more excited about the food. While the staff is extremely friendly/welcoming, we may not have ordered optimally this time. The roasted red pepper soup was excellent, but the halibut special was a bit bland, the quail special was an extremely small portion, and the tarte tatin crust wasn't particularly tasty. We'll likely try the restaurant again because we really like the staff and location. We also remember loving the mussels and a few other dishes."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed celebrating our anniversary here. The caesar salad included delicious anchovies and her paella was prepared perfectly, but the star of the show was my scallops risotto in lobster sauce. This dish is among the best I have ever eaten. The atmosphere is friendly, and we were made to feel part of the neighborhood."

  • "Excellent food. Friendly employees and a fun place with very good food. Feels like I was back in Paris. Great find."

  • "Away from the hustle of Valencia street and with a balanced menu reflecting French traditional cooking mixed with nouveau cuisine touches, a decent wine list and moderate pricing this cozy restaurant is a good choice for a relaxed meal or a special occasion with friends or family. Beef cheeks with a beet reduction sauce and the dessert choices were highlights."

  • "Walked here from Cole Valley.always wanted stop here. Glad we finally did. Super friendly staff. Met Jacques (the proprietor?) --- very funny and warm... Food was amazing. We'll be back,"

  • "There are so many excellent choices on the menu that I will need to go back many times to sample........... EVERYTHING! Plus I came back from the restroom, sat down, all of the lights went out.............. neighborhood blackout? No, they brought desert with a candle and the entire restaurant sang me "Happy Birthday"! All of that and I was already feeling very lucky to have discovered another great restaurant in my neighborhood. I say "Happy Birthday to Me!""

  • "We have only been here a few times but the food is of high quality and not the overly, pretentious menu of many California restaurants ( Thank God for the French! ) not to mention the food is well priced. It is becoming a favorite dining experience for us and one that we willingly take visiting friends and family to experience. The ambiance is lovely and casual and the wait staff is so pleasant which we adore. Kudos for being a truly satisfying night out in this city of overrated dining spots. Sincerely, Vicki Saylor"

  • "The style and quality of the bi stro fare here transports you to France. The charming owner greets each diner. Our server this visit was not very friendly. Maybe she was just having a bad night."

  • "I have never been disappointed by the food from Bistro Central Parc. I have loved their French onion soup. It was the best that I've ever had. Their filet mignon is also cooked right, and the potato tatin is amazing! Last time I went with my friend for the lamb chop, but I asked to change the veggies to Pomme frites, and it was amazing!! Their fries are the best that I've had. I also had profiteroles which is filled with ice cream and the chocolate sauce is divine. The only negative thing about this place is the service. They don't have a lot of waiters, so when the restaurant is full, they won't be as proactive as they should. For instance, when our water bottle is empty, we had to call them twice to replace it."

  • "My wife and I were looking for an alternative to our normal Cole Valley restaurants and, after a short yelp search, we came across Bistro Central Parc which was easily within walking distance and we weren't disappointed. My wife recognized the owner as the previous owner of the Baker St Bistro which she had been to many times in the past. The place had a nice ambience, great food and good service. We'll definitely go back."

  • "This place is terrific. We live in the neighborhood and went here last year once time. Then my mom was coming to town and she likes French food so I thought of this again. The food was outstanding. And what really sets this place apart is not only the service but the SALADS. One is better than the next! The beet salad was so good but my boyfriend had the little gem salad and that was great too. I would like to go back and have a salad for the first and second and even third course. Delicious!"

  • "I have been to Bistro Central Parc twice, and I love it. The chef is welcoming, and the food is excellent. I have ordered the specials, which have been fish and seafood. The portions are plentiful, and the flavors are special. French, updated, creative and fresh."

  • "Took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day dinner. Ordered sweet bread and escargots for appetizers. Both were amazing, would recommend. Ordered beef cheeks and scallop risotto for entrees. Both were amazing again. Ordered chocolate cake and strawberry seasonal dish for dessert. Both were pretty good. Highly recommend and will return. Prices are reasonable for the quality and service was great. A little cramped and noisy, but that's part of the atmosphere. Make a reservation."

  • "I had heard that this restaurant was a hidden gem but there is nothing gem like about it. The menu and wine list are boring and the food was so bland! Even the hanger steak had no flavor and that is almost impossible to do. The French onion soup was also ho hum. My husband enjoyed his trout but that was really all that we liked. The servers were friendly. But we won't be back."

  • "Bistro Central Parc continues to be a wonderful local restaurant. The food is consistently very good; it never disappoints. I had a wonderful warm spinach salad with goat egg and and even better mahi mahi with a parsnip puree that was excellent. Desserts were also quite good especially the tarte tatin. We've been back more than half a dozen times and will continue to visit regularly."

  • "Their food makes up for the lackluster service. The waiters were not very attentive at all. Never refilled our drinks (if I'm going to pay $6 for soda, I want a refill!). Barely checked up on us. No explanation about the specials or menu items written in french (my date and I had to break out our phones to decipher the dessert menu). I also told the restaurant that I will be celebrating a birthday ahead of time and nothing special ever happened throughout the night. I guess it was my bad for not reminding them...However, I will comeback for the food! The scallops and steak frites were packed with so much flavor. This place is a definite must try. And if you are celebrating something special, make sure you remind the restaurant."

  • "Great french food in the evenings. Make sure to save room for the fantastic deserts. Brunch is to die for. Perfect eggs benedicts and scrumptious french toast. The owner and his wife are also fantastic people. Highly recommend."

  • "Small neighborhood gem that keeps us coming back for the delicious food, service and ambiance. The rack of lamb was done to perfection and the sriped seabass special was seared just right. Looking forward to introducing more friends and family to this little star off the Panhandle of San Francisco."

  • "Had an excellent meal here the other night with my girlfriend. We started off with the salmon tartar, which was great. Then for our main courses we shared the duck & the beef cheek, the beef cheek was one of the best things I've eaten in my entire life. The creamyness of that beet purée with those woody, earthy mushrooms was just absolutely devine. Take me back, I'm drooling just thinking about it. Love this place!!"

  • "Overall an excellent dinner with a French feeling. Appreciated the host turning down the overloud music. Special of game hen was delicious as were all the small first courses. Excellent wine although there should be some good wines available from $25-35; $40 was the least expensive. Nice ambience, not too loud and able to get a reservation the same day."

  • "We expected more from this restaurant. We had been there before and service was OK but food was good. We went back for a special occasion and it was not special at all. Food is overpriced and not better than any other French local restaurant. They are a bit pretentious and I am not sure why. I will not go back."

  • "We needed to find a restaurant in the vicinity of the Independent music venue for a pre-concert dinner, and some poking around on Open Table revealed this gem a few blocks away. Situated in a quiet part of Nopa, this French bistro was packed with boisterous diners when we arrived. Still, the owner took the time to greet and chat with us while our table was readied. The food was delicious: I had onion soup and roast chicken, and my boyfriend had salad and steak frites. It was all traditionally and well-prepared, and satisfied our desire for comfort food on a bitterly cold night. Our server was perfect for the vibe of the place--laid-back, but helpful. It felt as if we'd been invited into someone's home and fed homemade French cuisine."

  • "I was looking for a place close to St. Ignatius Church to have dinner before the Chanticleer Christmas show. The Bistro was the perfect compliment for the evening! The Filet of Sole and Confit de Canard were perfect. The Beef Bourguignonne was tasty but the horseradish sauce was a bit of a twist that would have been better served on the side to allow the diner to use as much or as little as they wanted. Although our main dishes were very enjoyable, I will return to have the Frisee Salad with that perfectly poached egg!"

  • "The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. All around an amazing meal. Plus, considering it's French food in SF, it is very reasonably priced- you don't have to break the bank to go here and enjoy an excellent meal! 5/5 stars"

  • "Being greeted by Jerome is always wonderful. He makes you feel like you are coming to dinner at his house. We hadn't been to the Bistro for a few months but so enjoyed the exceptionally delicious food, the care of most of the staff, and the leisure pace. Bastien was a delightful addition, very thoughtful with attention to the details. Unfortunately our initial server, Denise, was a bit rude, which we have never experienced there or anywhere else. But we will still go back because we enjoy everything else about Bistro Central Parc very much. It is a perfect place to spend New Year's Eve, by the way."

  • "I made a reservation a week ahead, yet there was was no indoor table available - we were placed in the back of an outdoor sidewalk area with awning, not allowing easy attention from server (for things like no salt and pepper on table) and chilly. The ambience inside seemed warm, cosy and lively - with no choice, we were literally put out in the cold winter evening. If you make a reservation, I would insist on an indoor table unless its daytime and warm. The warm Brie appetizer was very small. Fish of the day (striped sea bass) was extremely well done."

  • "This somewhat out of the way corner location serves up very authentic bistro fare and is well worth the effort required to get there, including the significant parking challenge. As a visitor to San Francisco I wouldn't hesitate to return as would our Marin County friends who ate there for the first time as well."

  • "This was our first visit to Bistro Central Parc and we really enjoyed it! The menu was surprisingly extensive (the specials could have comprised a whole menu!) The food was delicious and the wine was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Bistro Central Parc is French dining without being stuffy. I enjoyed the Steak Frites (rib eye steak) which was cooked to perfection. I asked the Bernaise sauce be served on the side and they obliged. Friendly, thoughtful service. People even asked us how our meal was without being intrusive. Overall, a strong dining experience. I would highly recommend Bistro Central Parc. Magnifique!"

  • "No question, the food was wonderful and that's the most important thing about this place. Character? Atmosphere obviously not important to them as there is none, so what. I was put off by their choice of music, but again, so what. The food was terrific …………."

  • "My husband and I dined here in October for our anniversary. We didn't know anything about it and left feeling like we had been going there for years. Right off the bat, the service is impeccable. We felt extremely taken care of. From suggestions on appetizers to wine to entrees - every question was answered with incredible knowledge. The food is outstanding. Traditional French dishes but the highlights are their specials. Wow! They blew us away. When dined pleasantly for a few hours. When we returned this past week, the server and owner recognized us and we were again treated like family :) This is our spot now!"
