A word from Bistro Central Parc - SF
"The Panhandle's taste of Paris....at Bistro Central Parc, the menu is classic bistro, the presentation is solid and patrons are a refreshing mix of young and old....." San Francisco Chronicle, July 2010
Jacques Manuera, an 18 year veteran in the restaurant business in San Francisco, transports you to Paris in his new quaint neighborhood restaurant near the panhandle. The restaurant offers the traditional french bistro dishes such as duck confit, sweetbreads, salade Lyonnaise and onion soup and beef tartare. Indulge in our delicious rissoto with seared scallops and lobster sauce.
On Saturdays and Sundays, when you are out near Golden Gate Parc, feel at home in Paris on our heated Terrasse as you indulge in traditional American egg dishes and one of the best french toast in San Francisco. Bienvenue et Bon Appetit!

We only take Brunch reservations for parties of 6 and more.

Diner Reviews
  • "Our dinner on July 18, 2014 was EXCELLENT! The four of us ordered appetizers and four different entrees. Every dish was delicious. The Bistro continues to get better and better! And the staff is knowledgeable and fun. We WILL be back!"

  • "We had a great birthday dinner and the stuff was nice that they sang the birthday song for the birthday girl. We will come back for brunch next time!"

  • "A petite coin de France imported into SF. Obviously a popular place for the neighborhood, everyone knows everyone. We reserved on a Sunday, were promptly seated (a little tight). Delicious Kir, nice Chinon with escargots (6), perfectly cooked trout amandine (serving almost too big) over perfect crunchy green beans and roasted new potatoes, and a confit de canard (also a healthy serving over delicious lentils). Ended with a creme brulee (perfect). Jerome (from Alsace) served us perfectly, no hovering, no rush to turn the tables."

  • "If you want an excellent French dining experience, this is the place. Staff, food, service -- all at their best. Dishes are creative, well balanced with fabulous flavors and aesthetics."

  • "Impeccable, truly tasty bistro fare almost ruined by impatient waiter who tried to pressure us throughout dinner to order when we were clearly not ready. I understand wanting to clear tables but you have to give us more than 1-3 minutes to order! Especially when you are in a group for a special occasion! Lovely, gregarious owner who made it all better with his infectious joie de vivre. "

  • "I stumbled into this little gem of a place by accident as I was just walking around the neighborhood. The owner always takes time to go around and mingle with his customers and if you are a regular, of course it only adds to the cozy and familiar feel. Food portions are perfect and the service is always friendly and relaxed. "

  • "We've been coming here since they opened, but it's been a year and half because we had a baby. Now that we have a toddler, we decided to go back for the 5:30 dinner. They had a high chair and made it easy to accommodate our daughter. The food - tartare, charcuterie and petit filets were all perfect. Possibly the best charcuterie plate I've had. The stand-out was a rabbit rillette made in house. And the Cab Franc went perfect with everything. We finished with profiteroles and a dessert wine. A perfect meal. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Last Saturday I celebrated my birthday there with my fiance and it was amazing. We had the duck salad which was a special and it was seasoned perfectly and tasted so good we wanted to order another plate. Also, the steak tartar was perfectly un-done in a great way with toasts and dijon vinaigrette dressed greens. The steak frites was great but the rack of lamb took the cake. It was delicious! They also sang me happy birthday which I was not expecting. The service didn't miss a beat and the owner was very kind. They called us a cab and walked us out. We will be back soon with all of our friends and family.. Thank you so much Bistro Central Parc!"

  • "The food (duck confit salad and halibut encrusted with pistachios) was delicious and very much in the French style. The service was pleasant and efficient."

  • "Bistro Central Parc is WAY off the better track - on an otherwise completely residential corner - but that has helped, I think, to solidify its popularity with locals. The owner is a local himself, often to be seen in the morning at Central Coffee, a block away, and he remembers his regulars and greets them warmly. This is our go to spot for special occasions in the area."

  • "We have been to Bistro Central Parc several times. Each time has been outstanding. It is our go to dining spot in SF. Great food, good wine list, excellent service and a charming ambiance. We highly recommend."

  • "We happened across this neighborhood restaurant while on a trip to SF. The host was a true Frenchman, the food was French in preparation and taste, and the wines were reasonable. What more could you ask for? My husband had the warm spinach salad and paella and I had the wild mushroom risotto and the profiteroles. They easily accommodated my garlic allergy which was an added bonus. We will gladly return if we're in the area."

  • "Food was good though spinach salad was sold out at 6:15 PM! Both of our table attendants (african-american man and a bald-ish man with glasses) had bad attitudes and sour dispositions. Their service, particularly the man with glasses, spoiled our experience. He was, at times, argumentative and had an I-can't-be-bothered attitude. It's too bad; I wanted Central Parc Bistro to be part of our regular rotation but there are too many restaurant options in SF to have to put up with bad service."

  • "Bistro Central Parc serves up some of the best French bistro food around. Even with a rather large menu when the specials are factored in, the food is simply superb. Our appetizers- Beet Salad with Goat Cheese/Radicchio and the Crab Cakes were both outstanding. The greens accompanying the crab cakes were PERFECTLY dressed. The same was true with our entrees Roasted Chicken with mushrooms, and the Duck Breast. Both were moist and perfectly prepared. Desserts- Tarte Tartin and Raspberry Bread Pudding were both excellent. Service was smooth and efficient. We were warmly received both coming and leaving. Can't wait to come back to this wonderful bit of Paris right here in SF."

  • "Really loved it...arrived early and spent a long time there...but did not feel rushed to leave...Mussels are excellent which we shared and the Halibut special that night was wonderful..moist and delicious....can't say enough about this restaurant!"

  • "We've been here a few other times before and remembered being more excited about the food. While the staff is extremely friendly/welcoming, we may not have ordered optimally this time. The roasted red pepper soup was excellent, but the halibut special was a bit bland, the quail special was an extremely small portion, and the tarte tatin crust wasn't particularly tasty. We'll likely try the restaurant again because we really like the staff and location. We also remember loving the mussels and a few other dishes."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed celebrating our anniversary here. The caesar salad included delicious anchovies and her paella was prepared perfectly, but the star of the show was my scallops risotto in lobster sauce. This dish is among the best I have ever eaten. The atmosphere is friendly, and we were made to feel part of the neighborhood."

  • "We went early before seeing a show and things were just picking up as we left. The food was excellent, prepared to order, and well-presented. The onion soup was perfect, with that constant hint of salt without being overwhelming. The portion sizes were third bear perfect, not too much, but definitely enough! Service was attentive and engaging without being too present. A completely enjoyable experience!"

  • "Away from the hustle of Valencia street and with a balanced menu reflecting French traditional cooking mixed with nouveau cuisine touches, a decent wine list and moderate pricing this cozy restaurant is a good choice for a relaxed meal or a special occasion with friends or family. Beef cheeks with a beet reduction sauce and the dessert choices were highlights."

  • "There are so many excellent choices on the menu that I will need to go back many times to sample........... EVERYTHING! Plus I came back from the restroom, sat down, all of the lights went out.............. neighborhood blackout? No, they brought desert with a candle and the entire restaurant sang me "Happy Birthday"! All of that and I was already feeling very lucky to have discovered another great restaurant in my neighborhood. I say "Happy Birthday to Me!""

  • "We have only been here a few times but the food is of high quality and not the overly, pretentious menu of many California restaurants ( Thank God for the French! ) not to mention the food is well priced. It is becoming a favorite dining experience for us and one that we willingly take visiting friends and family to experience. The ambiance is lovely and casual and the wait staff is so pleasant which we adore. Kudos for being a truly satisfying night out in this city of overrated dining spots. Sincerely, Vicki Saylor"

  • "I have never been disappointed by the food from Bistro Central Parc. I have loved their French onion soup. It was the best that I've ever had. Their filet mignon is also cooked right, and the potato tatin is amazing! Last time I went with my friend for the lamb chop, but I asked to change the veggies to Pomme frites, and it was amazing!! Their fries are the best that I've had. I also had profiteroles which is filled with ice cream and the chocolate sauce is divine. The only negative thing about this place is the service. They don't have a lot of waiters, so when the restaurant is full, they won't be as proactive as they should. For instance, when our water bottle is empty, we had to call them twice to replace it."

  • "My wife and I were looking for an alternative to our normal Cole Valley restaurants and, after a short yelp search, we came across Bistro Central Parc which was easily within walking distance and we weren't disappointed. My wife recognized the owner as the previous owner of the Baker St Bistro which she had been to many times in the past. The place had a nice ambience, great food and good service. We'll definitely go back."

  • "This place is terrific. We live in the neighborhood and went here last year once time. Then my mom was coming to town and she likes French food so I thought of this again. The food was outstanding. And what really sets this place apart is not only the service but the SALADS. One is better than the next! The beet salad was so good but my boyfriend had the little gem salad and that was great too. I would like to go back and have a salad for the first and second and even third course. Delicious!"

  • "I have been to Bistro Central Parc twice, and I love it. The chef is welcoming, and the food is excellent. I have ordered the specials, which have been fish and seafood. The portions are plentiful, and the flavors are special. French, updated, creative and fresh."

  • "Took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day dinner. Ordered sweet bread and escargots for appetizers. Both were amazing, would recommend. Ordered beef cheeks and scallop risotto for entrees. Both were amazing again. Ordered chocolate cake and strawberry seasonal dish for dessert. Both were pretty good. Highly recommend and will return. Prices are reasonable for the quality and service was great. A little cramped and noisy, but that's part of the atmosphere. Make a reservation."

  • "I had heard that this restaurant was a hidden gem but there is nothing gem like about it. The menu and wine list are boring and the food was so bland! Even the hanger steak had no flavor and that is almost impossible to do. The French onion soup was also ho hum. My husband enjoyed his trout but that was really all that we liked. The servers were friendly. But we won't be back."

  • "Bistro Central Parc continues to be a wonderful local restaurant. The food is consistently very good; it never disappoints. I had a wonderful warm spinach salad with goat egg and and even better mahi mahi with a parsnip puree that was excellent. Desserts were also quite good especially the tarte tatin. We've been back more than half a dozen times and will continue to visit regularly."
