A favorite!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMconsiderate staffHad a great brunch with my mom who has dementia. Our server was cheerful, helpful and patient. She was not flustered or put off. The food was delicious and prompt. The table was in a window with sun streaming in, overlooking the outdoor patio. Pleasant experience all around.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA favorite date placeMy husband and I enjoy Bistro for a date night near home. Great food, interesting wine list, easy to park, great wait staff. they just opened their outdoor seating for the season. We love it.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAdine was the best!!Our server was Adine, French, and very helpful, efficient, and a joy to have as a server. She was timely, friendly, and made the restaurant experience an excellent one for the six of us.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMDuck Confit for brucnhSuch a nice alternative to the typical eggs and bacon. The service is wonderful and you get what you pay for. The Sunday brunch is really nice. Cannot wait until the outdoor seating is open! Will come back for brunch and dinner.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA spot-on meal to remember...We three were marking a special occasion and could not have picked a more appropriate dining spot. Our serving of Moules à la Bière, mussels in Belgian ale, was the best in memory, with delicious bread to sop up all the liquids in the bowl. Two of us shared the Bistro Burger featuring Black Earth beef, every bite of which we savored, as we did the fried onions. The third person had the Poulet Rôti Forestière, which was more than she could finish and a dish she could not stop raving about, even after departing the restaurant. The meal was indeed as special as was the occasion.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb food and excellentSuperb food and excellent service. Disappointed that the size of the menu (i.e. number of entrees) has been reduced.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was fantasticThe service was fantastic and the food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and will be back....many times.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMNone better on the North SideThis was our 4th visit. This time to celebrate our 46th anniversary. They never disapoint. The food and service are top notch. Had the Strudel and the Pate plate for startersa. My wife loves their chicken specialty and I had the pork chop this time. Both done perfectly. Love this place.
Interestingly, while we were there celebrating our 46th, a young couple at the table next to us, got up, went outside in the garden and he dropped to his knee and proposed. She accepted and both seemed quite happy. Good luck to them.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHomey setting with great foodHomey setting with great food just steps from the Old Town School of Music.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThis has been our go-to restaurantThis has been our go-to restaurant for celebrations - birthday, anniversary, etc. While still very good, it somehow didn't live up to our expectations. The menu didn't excite us as it used to; the party at the next table (extremely close) was loud and seemed to deter our own conversations. The service was great and lived up to its usual way of making us feel welcome.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWine Doggy Bags!We had a great bottle of wine that was on special. We were reluctant because we weren't sure we could drink the whole bottle. The waitress said that they could re-cork and send us home with the bottle, which they did. Lovely experience. Still one of my favorite special event restaurants.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe celebrated a milestoneWe celebrated a milestone birthday with dinner at Bistro Campagne. They took care of everything in advance, and the food, wine, service and atmosphere were perfect.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFinally tried something otherFinally tried something other than the cassoulet, though not necessarily by choice. Not surprisingly, my new entree was delicious, as well. I just wish they would bring the cassoulet back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA consitent favoriteAbsolutely one of our favorite places. Consistent and wonderful food in a great
setting with wonderful service. Highly recommended!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMVery tasty. Ambiance was perfectVery tasty. Ambiance was perfect for our 4 year anniversary. Staff was very friendly and kind. The food was delicious. Can't complain. I wish I was there when it was warmer to enjoy the beautiful patio!! My only suggestion: don't feel like you have to eat everything. It's ok to take some food home. My fiance and my stomachs were a bit "urpy" due to the buttery, garlic and general richness of the food. Don't be bashful about taking home a doggie bag. You might regret it if you don't!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThird time there - lived upThird time there - lived up to expectation yet again. Only problem was a significant error on the bill but we caught it and expect an upcoming credit to my card as indicated by the server.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a nice Sunday brunch. We had a nice Sunday brunch. The food was delicious, the service very friendly and helpful. The only problem was that we waited for our food for quite a time. I love it! The food was incredible and the interior was extremely charming. Its great for groups and can be very romantic for dates. I can't wait till it gets warmer so I can go bad and sit on their adorable patio.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a terrific, albeitWe had a terrific, albeit early, meal - five of us - before a concert at the Old Town School of Folk Music. Patrick, our EXCELLENT server, knew of our time constraints and was exceptional at keeping everyone on time. He was also accommodating in a split-check request. Our meals all came as ordered and what my husband and I shared was terrific! An octopus appetizer, a quinoa and eggplant entree salad and the wonderful "madame" ham and cheese with egg sandwich. YUM! The bartender was wonderfully adept at a couple of cocktails; what could be better. Merci!!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and atmosphere madeThe food and atmosphere made this a very special dinner3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe celebrated our 10th anniversaryWe celebrated our 10th anniversary there. The experience was wonderful! The service was exceptional. Our server, Patrick, couldn't have been friendlier. The food was terrific! We definitely will go back and tell our friends. It was a memorable evening.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA food family favoriteThis is a really special place that we love to go to when visiting our daughter in the Lincoln Square area. Amazingly prepared food, great wine list with suggested pairings, and diligent service, right down to scraping the breadcrumbs off of the tablecloth! Definitely recommend this to foodies. Make sure to make reservations at least a few days ahead. We like the intimate ambience and the fact that you can dress up or not. We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in very casual clothes, and were still treated like VIPs.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and drinks are fantastic!!The food and drinks are fantastic!!This was only our third date since becoming new parents last summer. It was well worth the wait!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a favorite spot. OnlyAlways a favorite spot. Only disappointment was that we love their duck breast, and their brussel sprouts. Both are still on the website for the regular menu, but alas were now off the menu in reality. Our taste buds were all psyched for these favorites, but alas, no longer on the menu. Very sad. The excellent waitress tried to help us over our disappointment with some very tasty duck croquettes, but we were still sad.
Amazing mac & cheese in french style and the chicken is also lovely. I had the beef bourguignon special, which was delicious, but a little light on the beef. Great crusty french bread to start. We'll be back, but will call way ahead to see if we can order the duck in advance. Love sitting in the garden on warm days!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMVwry friendly, traditionalVwry friendly, traditional European bistro with excellent Belgian beer selection, and tradional bistro menu option any of which you often don't find in U.S. restaurants. try their famous rotisserie chicken which they are known for.
Very reasonable prices.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOur out of town guest wasOur out of town guest was thrilled with his meal and continued to rave about the Bistro
yesterday. We are always pleased.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth The EffortA little out of the way for someone visiting downtown Chicago but worth the effort to get there. It reminded me of sitting in a very charming French bistro in France. Nice menu and a small but reasonably priced wine list. Service was very very good as was the food.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
