  • "Interior is warm, inviting, classic. Our server was perfect - attentive but not intrusive, warm and friendly but not over-familiar - delightful. Menu is amazing - wonderful creativity - combinations of components and ingredients I've never seen together, yet when I saw them, I thought, of course! We each had pork tenderloin with apples, currants, served over a bed of grits. Presentation was beautiful, and the tenderloin was perfect, incredibly flavorable without being over-seasoned. Gasped with pleasure at first taste. Wine room with a sommelier, impressive wine selection. We had "PB&J" and carrot cake for dessert, and both were, again, beautifully presented, very fresh & unique. Prices surprisingly moderate. Going back next week!"

The Bistro Tracks haven't stopped in Nashville! We need a version of Tennessee's best!"

  • "To us this is the new Regas. The service is spectacular. The menu is varied enough that there is something for everyone, not just fish or sea food. Good place for a special occasion or a group but if you are going have a reservation."

  • "While the food is very delicious and the main entree large enough, the sides leave you feeling like you've just eaten at an extremely fancy French restaurant. In other words, you leave feeling hungry. For example, I had a tiny dish of brussel sprouts and there were probably at best only 3 brussel sprouts cut in half. I don't need monster portions but want to feel like I have eaten."

  • "When my girlfriend asked a bunch of her friends where we should go for a romantic dinner, the majority of them suggested Bistro by the Tracks. As soon as we walked in I knew we were in the perfect place: dark wood, casual ambiance, mood lighting, and smiles all around. The staff was warm & friendly, the food was prepared perfectly, and the desert was HEAVENLY!!! We plan on making this place "OUR" place from now on! Glen Stafford, Vermont"

  • "The menu choices are unlike what are offered in most restaurants. The ambiance is classy modern at the same time warm and inviting, reminding me of upscale restaurants in Dallas or Austin. The flavor of our entrées was very good. We felt that the prices were high for what you got. For example, for $15 you got a serving of meatloaf but no sides, and none were offered to purchase either. The service, while good, was not exceptional considering we were among very few patrons. We had to ask for refills on our drinks twice, and waited a long while for the check to be picked up. Still, it was worth experiencing for something new and different."

  • "Bistro has a welcoming atmosphere which lends to a wonderful, relaxed dining experience. If you are looking for a quiet atmosphere, dine early on in the evening. The restaurant does fill up quite a bit after 6pm and can get noisy with large parties. The dishes are pretty pricey, but the combination of flavors and the high quality of food used make the tab worth in on special occasions. This is also a great venue for executive business dinners."

  • "A superb dining experience! Our server Dan should give lessons on how to be perfectly attentive and informative without being intrusive. This was by far the best service we have ever had in all the years we have been dining out in Knoxville! When our entrees arrived, they were almost too beautiful to eat. After a well-deserved moment of admiration, we actually tasted them and were not at all disappointed. The chef’s creations are unique and complex, yet perfectly balanced. If all of that weren’t enough, the wine list is impressive and the signature cocktails are as divine as the meal. Our only regret is not having room for dessert."

Upon arriving we expected to have one more person join us and they accomodated the extra seat for the reservation even though the other person did not join. Love the flexibility and accomodation! Always recommend to friends and this is our go to spot for all celebrations big and small."

  • "From the maitre'd opening the door to the waitstaff to the deconstructed "lemon meringue pie with blueberries," the service and food was devine. With no specials for the evening because the menu was changing the following week, I had broccoli salad, pork tenderloin with apple slivers on top of grits, followed by the dessert as above. Mmmmmm. I can't say enough. I'll be back to see what the new menu for the season is like. It has a Chicago-like atmosphere, attentive waitpersons, a wonderful wine list and fabulous food. The clientele was dressed so nicely, too. I like eating out where the men are in suits and the women are successful-looking. No jeans and ball caps for me."

  • "The new chief shows promise, but is inconsistent. His butter-nut squash soup with crème fraise, fried sage & ham crumbs was luscious and brilliant. The seared scallops were well done, accompanied by kale, but the coconut foam (the plate was supposed to evoke a sea scene) was more flotsam the flavor. The tea smoked duck was ground into a tubular pate, tasting neither of duck nor smoke and the brussel sprout kimchee added nothing. The swordfish was well prepared and set off nicely by an olive salad. Service was, as always, superior. The adequate wine list is almost exclusively American and lacks with and depth."

  • "It was a mid-December day and The Bistro appeared to be full. If so, after we were seated, we never felt slighted in the least. Their timing is exceptional. Three new dishes and we tried them all. Of course we tasted each of those three. It was unanamous! We had each ordered the best."

  • "Liked the small plate starters with complex flavors and ingredients. Food was top notch. Wine list was extensive but few moderate priced offerings at the high end plenty of wines to spend on. Seasonal menu was a hit. whether our group had lamb shank, rib eye or swordfish. Again all flavorful, seasonal veggies either shredded or pureed. Servers worked in teams and were very sensitive to when to insert for questions. Sort of out of the way place but work finding - thanks to open table."

  • "Overall Bistro continues to please. New winter menu is great and the wine list continues to impress. Strangely this trip though the staff was a bit odd. We had a slight issue with one of the wines ordered and were given a rather standoffish response from management. I'll not discourage dining at Bistro from one event as it remains one of our favorite places and we've always experienced friendly and energetic staff. Our server was fantastic as well. Perhaps someone was simply not having the best of days."

  • "I've been to the Bistro many times and had always thought that the food and service were unmatched in Knoxville. Unfortunately, I was prepared to never return after the last visit (tiny portions, higher prices). I'm glad I was talked into going one last time because the food was delicious (grilled swordfish over cauliflower puree, caesar salad, with carrot cake for dessert). Our waiter, whose name escapes me, was courteous, pleasant and very efficient. A pleasant meal was had by all."

Our high expectations were not disappointed - The atmosphere was very nice, the waiter very helpful and knowledgeable, and the food simply outstanding.   • "The menu online differed from lunch menu presented. Ate there a year ago and did not like the menu at all. Was fabulous in 2012 before they changed chefs. Thought the menu had changed by what was online, but it had not. Portions were ridiculously small with a high price tag. Doubt that I will be returning any time soon."

  • "We can always rely on Bistro by the Tracks to perform well. Extensive breadth and depth of the cellar is matched by well perpared and big tasting food. I woould say the menu is designed to be accompanied by the big red wines featured on the list. Portion size is perhaps the best in K-town as Chef does not try to match the all you can eat buffets prominent in the regional arena."
