A word from Bistro Bordeaux
The philosophy of the menu at Bistro Bordeaux is an expression of our French culinary heritage, for which we have a profound admiration. The support of our local farmers allows us to use the freshest produce and seafood, just as one would find in the markets in the south of France. The menu showcases the freshness of these pure ingredients through simple, flavorful combinations.
As the passing of fall brings day light savings time with early nightfall, we are always excited to welcome back the great comfort food dishes typically found in bistros; the first taste of the “Coq au Vin” and the pervading perfumes of the long cooked “Cassoulet Toulousain”, come to mind. It is, in our opinion, this style of cuisine that offers the clearest definition of traditionally rooted French fare
We hope you enjoy the eating as much as we enjoy the preparation in the kitchen and wish you all "Bon appétit"!

This restaurant was outstanding! Delicious dinner of escargots, french onion soup, mussels and chicken. The wine list was great and we enjoyed a bordeaux Chateau Haut-Colombier Cotes des Blaye which we will look for in the future. Our server, Eric was attentive and very personable and fun to talk to. Romantic restaurant and we loved everything about it. We only wished we had the time (we had an event to attend) to order dessert. We will definitely go there again and would highly recommend it.

Bistro Bordeaux has become a favorite because of its very good food and comfortable ambiance. In the recent visit, the foie de volaille was marvelous and the sea scallops with lardons and fall vegetables were delicious. On the other hand, service has always been a bit spotty. The servers are always friendly and pleasant, but often miss the right timing and degree of attentiveness. During this past visit, the charming waiter may have been the only one on duty so there were some timing mishaps. Still, the restaurant is well worth a visit, and we will certainly be back.

Returned here after several years to find menu and food really excellent. Noise level though was almost unbearable-- not at all conversation-friendly. As a table of 5, conversation was virtually impossible on a Saturday night to the point where we aimed to have dessert and coffee elsewhere to catch up with our friends. Food was excellent, might try early dinner on weeknight (which is not our typically dinner time or night out so not sure when we will return). Lively is nice but this was just too difficult to converse.

Despite a decent menu and atmosphere, the shortcomings came from basic execution. Between my wife and I we had four poached eggs between our two dishes. Three were nothing short of hard boiled and the fourth was custard like but pretty firm. The short rib in my wife's dish was stringy and dry and obviously left over from a prior dinner service. The one highlight was the house cured salmon was pretty good. Service was so-so but I think he saw our eggs and was afraid to come back. This place projects itself better in image than they actually produce a good meal.

We had a delightful 3 course brunch with mimosas. It felt like such a treat, the service was excellent, and the food was divine. It's a bit too spendy for us to be regulars, but it is now one of our favorites if we want to treat ourselves or have something to celebrate. Highly reccomended.

We had an 8 pm reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant was quite busy at the time & our table for 2 was cozy. The lighting was fairly dim but since most people use iPhones featuring a flashlight feature we were easily able to read the menu. I had the cold foie gras appetizer and my wife had the escargots. Our main dishes were trout for my wife and ribeye steak for myself. The food was exquisite and the service was attentive. We also shared a wonderful inexpensive Bordeaux. Pricing was moderate and offered tremendous value for the portions received. This was our 2nd visit to this wonderful establishment and it was simply outstanding in every imaginable way. We will dine here again and are looking forward to it!

We have been there on several occasions and the food is good. We had a crowded table in the corner of the restaurant and our waiter was Juan. Our service was not very good as I believe he had too many table for which he was responsible thus we waited to even be able to order a second glass of wine. The gratuity was automatic as usual with a table for 8 but as a result, there was no way to adjust the tip based on less than great service.

We walked in & thought we were back in Paris. And the food, along with the affordable wine list, added to that feeling. The Foie Gras on the pepper bread pudding was spectacular, as were the quails that followed. Yummy sauces! My wife's onion soup was large, hot, cheesy & delicious. She also enjoyed her steak frites--a nice size Sirloin with a lot of frites. The server, Juan O, was very knowledgeable of the wines as well as the menu items.

Bistro Bordeaux transported us to France. The food, the wine (especially the wine - great list of wines that goes beyond the usual suspects) and the hospitality (convivial, attentive, decidedly non-Parisian) make it a real gem. Oh, and the frites are heavenly.

We went to Bistro Bordeaux with a Groupon for a prix fixe menu. First the atmosphere was lovely and service excellent. Overall, each dish was excellent also. We did find the menu itself a bit disjointed for brunch. The first course was a choice of mussels in white wine, garlic sauce, french onion soup or a salad. The second course was a bit more breakfast/brunch focused with Croquette Madame and eggs benedict among the choices. Our feeling is that the first and second course didn't flow flavor wise. Finally, the total price with out the Groupon was $84 for a mimosa/bloody mary, a first course, a second course and a shared dessert course. We felt that was a bit pricey for brunch and would not go again without a Groupon.

This was a huge disappointment!!!! I was really excited when I saw the GroupOn for it. We were there early so it was not crowded. The hostess sat us behind the bar, facing the wall and out of site. The server was very good. The food was less than acceptable. W/o the GroupOn it would have been $82 for 2. I would not eat there again for free.

Yes, we had a great time with our guests, but left feeling as if the manager and waiter were friends too. Service was very professional leaning toward friendly even though the restaurant was full. The food was great. Fantastic foie gras in warm and cold preparations, lovely oysters on the half shell and good escargot got us started on the classic french bistro menu. By the time we finished authentic and delicious roasted chicken, steak frites and bouillabaisse, we all felt like we were back in France. For dessert, The creme brulee was among the best I have ever eaten, with good vanilla and a great caramelized finish. While well done, the chocolate pave was very dense and made me wish for a lighter, classic chocolate mousse instead.

Excellent dinner with French flair, nice French wine list, reasonable beer list. Charcuterie plate was generous enough to share, frites were amazing, will have mussels next time just to go with the frites. Quail was also excellent, portions were right sized, and the profiteroles rounded out the dinner nicely. A very enjoyable dinner for 4 with reservations easily obtained at the last minute

This restaurant reminds one of Paris. We were seated by a charming hostess and greeted by our server (Lance) who, although new to this restaurant was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. We started with the escargot, the charcuterie plate and split a salad. All very good. G/f ordered the trout and it was magnificently prepared. Visually and gastronomically, a definite winner. I ordered the mussels, and was a tad disappointed. While they were authentically served in a broth along with frites and truffle mayo; they were incredibly small, but tasty. Had the flotielle for dessert-wonderful. The drawback was the owner who never acknowledged his patrons or thanked anyone as they left. His demeanor was one of importance rather than welcoming.
