A word from Bistro at the Oaks
For a memorable culinary experience join us for lunch at The Bistro at The Oaks, a contemporary restaurant featuring affordable bistro cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. All items are prepared on site. The menu changes weekly and menu items are seasonally influenced and created using fresh ingredients from local suppliers. Lunch patrons will be served a tasting menu consisting of three to four courses. The menus change weekly, reflecting the culinary skills that the students are learning that week.

The Bistro at The Oaks is a part of the Hall County's Lanier Charter Career Academy (LCCA), a new state of the art Teaching, Culinary Arts, Hospitality and Conference facility. Students receive real-life experience and insight into opportunities available to them in the food service and hospitality industry. The bistro is staffed by the culinary and hospitality students of LCCA under the management of Instructor/Chef Chris Mitas.

Diner Reviews
  • "A unique place where the students make up the menu, cook and serve it. 4 course meal is perfect size for lunch. Been there 4 times always good and different. Love to take out of town guests as special gourmet spot."

  • "Enjoyed the experience and will be back again. It's fun trying a new menu that we would normally never try. Looking forward to bring friends to share this experience. The wait for the different courses is fast service so you can enjoy the new experience."

  • "We've eaten at the Oaks several times over the past two years since we first learned about it and taken friends there. In the past we thoroughly enjoyed the food. I made the reservation to celebrate my husband's 83rd birthday. What a disappointment. No choices this time, just the set 4-course meal. The best thing we had was the coffee."

  • "The bistro has changed its menu format from previous years, but as always, they never fail to please. Now serving a "tasting menu" of four smaller courses, the food is just the right amount... Filling, without the heaviness. The meal was flavorful from start to finish, and the presentation was detailed and lovely. What a phenomenal place to eat, especially considering that the entire bistro is operated by high school students. Worth a visit..."
