Went there early before theater date with my 12-year old daughter. We enjoyed the environment and the food very much. I was slightly taken aback by the per glass wine prices, but what the heck - out on the town with my daughter, I can pay $12 for a glass. Not typical for me, but whatever. When the bill came, though it was $16. SIXTEEN DOLLARS FOR ONE GLASS OF WINE?!?!? I asked the waiter what the heck was up with that. He said something about a 5 oz vs an 8 oz pour. There was NOTHING on the wine menu about a different price or size of glass. Super irritated and will likely prevent me from returning. Felt taken. (Although he did change the price to the one that was published on the menu.)

I've been to Bistro 921 several times in the last few years, usually once or twice a year before a concert. The menu has changed very little and none of the entrees are very adventurous, not surprising for a hotel restaurant. However service has always been good despite the kitchen being slow at times. This visit however both entrees were incredibly salty to the point it dominated all the other flavors, except for what I believe was an abundance of sage in the pot pie. The salmon this evening was farmed Atlantic salmon which was disappointing considering the current price of wild coho salmon at the store.

Bistro 921 is located on the main floor of the Hilton Portland (OR) Hotel - Main Tower. I made a reservation for 7:45 am, and my table for six was ready when I arrived at 7:40. As my group of six made their way to the restaurant, they were quickly seated, their order was quickly taken, and their food was delivered accurately and quickly, at the appropriate temperature - hot foods were hot; cold foods were cold. The food presentation was spectacular - every looked DELICIOUS!! And even better, it was delicious. From the granola and yogurt parfait, to the breakfast burrito, to the french toast. I highly recommend this restaurant for your business meeting breakfast.

We eat at Bistro 921 frequently and I don't understand why it is always empty. The food is excellent, the waitstaff has been there forever and are very, very good.....it has to be one of the most overlooked, underrated restaurants in the city...everyone should give it a try for dinner!

Everyone at this restaurant went out of their way to make our experience a pleasant one. Because of my allergy to alliums (onions and garlic), I can seem an annoying customer to some establishments, needing to accommodate my dietary needs. Both our waiter and the chef took pains to insure that I had a delightful meal. The food seemed a bit salty to me, but we generally eat a low salt diet, which I had not specified. We certainly felt well attended to and the food was delicious.

We tried this restaurant for dinner since it was on Open Table. Being on the ground floor of a hotel, it gets good breakfast and lunch business, but was almost empty at dinner time. That was unfortunate, since we both had very good grilled salmon dinners on a parsnip puree, adorned with roasted beets. It may be unfair to say we had great service, since it wasn't a busy place, but the waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable.

We found this place last minute on Open Table on Father's Day. The restaurant was completely empty when we walked in but as soon as we came in we were greeted and seated. The waiter was great. He was professional and honest in reccommendations. The food came quickly and was delicious! We'd definitely go back again.

We made the mistake of going into Bistro 921, located in the Hilton Hotel, in downtown Portland for dinner after a concert. There was only one other couple dining there and after our first taste of bread and soup, we understood why the place was empty. There's no need to elaborate further as this "eating spot" is sure to fail before long.

By far the worst brunch that I have ever been to. We should have left yet, It was 2:00 pm. We should have left and just had lunch and not did the traditional brunch. The presentation was awful. The food was inedible. The staff wandered around looking lost. It was JUST AWFUL. Never again at any Hilton property. That bad of a taste in my mouth literally. It was on par with Excalibur in Las Vegas yet the bistro 921 was 135.00 for 3 people. Way to much for what was presented. They were serving rice krispie treats sold at Safeway. Unbelievable. All, I can say is they must have had to throw out alot of food.

The food was amazing and the service from our waiter was great. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 was that on open table it said Mother's Day brunch was $30 and under. But when we got there it was $45 for brunch. And when I brought it to the attention of multiple people I was ignored. I wasn't looking for them to lower the price, simple awknolwdge that they made a mistake. But I was basically waived off. The only person who listened intently and apologized for the mistake/misunderstanding was not the manager of the restaurant (who I spoke with first) but our waiter.

It was too crowded. The amazing jazz band was put in an awkward corner. The feeling/ambiance on the top floor was not at all the same as the previous years in the actual restaurant. I don't think we will be doing any more brunch buffets here if it's done this way again.

The jazz trio was a perfect accompainment to a delicious brunch. The large variety of seafood selections was especially appreciated. Usually brunch desserts are poor but theirs were wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful Easter brunch buffet at Bistro 921, located in the Hilton on the 23rd floor. The space is usually held for conferences but they change it into a delightful brunch experience on holidays. The food was plentiful, the staff was very observant and always made sure there was plenty of everything. The food was delicious...made to order omelettes, jumbo shrimp, carved roast beef, cheese, salads, fruit, dessert. YUM! We sat by the window and could see for miles. The managers were on hand to make sure everyone was taken care of and when they weren't chatting with diners, they were busy helping staff pick up dishes, etc... Very nice, very energetic and lovely.

The food was okay, not great. Didn't get much for the price paid. The server started out as excellent but he had a real difficult time with the bill. We asked for decaf coffee (4 of us) and it was cold. It took awhile to get hot coffee and with the bill problems we were almost late for the concert we were going to attend. We were the first ones seated when they opened at 5 pm but were one of the last ones to leave (others didn't seem to be having the difficulties we were having with our bill). It would probably be an okay place for lunch but not really for a nice dinner.

Bistro 921 at the Portland Hilton is in the heart of downtown, convenient to arts, cultural, shopping and office venues, and serving all meals every day. It's reliable. Relax in the bar or over a meal if you like, but the staff also can get you in and out in an hour if you have a set-time engagement like a concert. My seared salmon fillet and accompaniments were delicious and right-sized. My partner liked her half-chicken, some of which came home in a box.

Bistro 921 is good when you want to meet up for dinner before a show at the Arlene Schnitzer or Newmark Theater. There is good garage parking one block south of the Hilton and it's a short walk to either theater. For this, the location can't be beat. The food is good, but not great and dinner for 2 with 4 drinks is about $100. Our service was slow and it took 1.5 hours to eat dinner and had to skip the dessert in order to make it to the show on time. Personally, I would only come here for the location, and may come back before my next show at either theater.

BUT, the food was excellent, lots of variety, good friendly spirit. I would say the price was fair because the food quality really did surprise us. Not expecting that for a restaurant in a hotel. So very glad we went. Was a perfect lead into a night of dancing on the town.

My husband and I went for their New Year's Eve fixed menu. We chose this place over Allium; that will never happen again! The lobster bisque and salad was nothing I couldn't buy at Safeway. The "Grilled Halibut Oscar" was overcooked and had a rubber taste. The "Filet Mignon" was anything but tender. Granted, they managed to cook it medium rare, but it was like eating a basic/generic steak. Dessert, a "Chocolate Yule Log," was a large Little Debbie cake! It even left the same waxy feel in the mouth... Worst part, the service... Not only did we hear staff arguing over tips, but even though the place was all but empty, we were TOLD our server was busy and couldn't get to us. Thankfully, Tyson stepped up and served us instead.

Found this little restaurant on Open Table and made reservations for their New Year's Even pre fixe menu before heading to the symphony. The restaurant is in the Hilton and was VERY quiet... just a few other diners besides our party of four. The food was good, the service was friendly, and it was brilliantly easy to walk to the concert hall afterward. I'd recommend it for a quiet meal before a show!

The food was absolutely wonderful. All four in our party commented that we could not remember a better meal. The value was terrific. We were attending Oregon Symphony following dinner and the all chose one of the variations on the pre-symphony menu. It represented great price for the meals. Servers and other staff were uniformly friendly, gracious and accommodating. The one concern we had was that service was slow - from taking our order to bringing utensils to presenting the check to processing payment. Seemed to be only one server handling the entire restaurant as far as we could see. He was scurrying and obviously doing his best; however, there should have been more help, especially in 1-1/2 hour prior to the symphony across the street.

I've discovered this place about a year ago and it's hard to even think about going anywhere else for my main holiday dinner! I've introduced it to friends as well and they keep coming back as well. The food is MOST delicious and not heavy! That depends on you, of course, because they have a wonderful dessert table along with the chocolate fountain...that's what I live for! Meat is NEVER dry, veggies are wide and varied, and the most delicious stuffing! I recommend this place to anyone and everyone! The only negative this last time at Thanksgiving was the thermometer needed to be turned down. Way TOO warm in the restaurant! But I'll still go back!
