Bistro 821Great as Usual!!!!One of our most frequented restaurants in Naples. The food AND service is always outstanding. The variety of dishes served will accommodate anyone's taste. Recommendations are both the Sea Bass and Snapper dishes, as well as the flounder, they are always delicious! For land lubbers, the lamb chop is superb. Let me tell you, it's not hype. Server, John, was gracious but not checking back constantly, which we like. We opted for their special of two entrees and a bottle of wine. My parmesan crusted sole over mashed potatoes and stir fry veggies was perfection. Paired with a Chardonnay and luscious dipping oil for freshly baked bread, I was in love with this little bistro. The only knock was that tables are situated tightly, so you may find yourself a few feet from another diner. However, the food quality, urban decor, and professional service must rank high in Naples. The staff did not try to hurry us through. Noise was not so loud as to hinder our conversation. Food is imaginative and well prepared. We were not in the least bit disappointed in our evening's experience. The Bistro salad had a nice compliment of greens and the spinach salad had an awesome bacon dressing. The chicken pot pie was a nice sized serving, not huge as at some other restaurants in town. The puff pastry crust was a nice addition. The tournadoes of beef were done to perfection. However the mushroom sauce was stronger than my taste for a sauce. What a find, the food service and lively ambiance of this resturant are just great.I tried their bistro salad to start with that was very good with really nice flavours, followed by the coconut, ginger and lemon grass encrusted snapper which I can also recommend.The bistro itself is quite unassuming from the outside, but as soon as you walkin the whole place is a buzz with a warm friendly welcome. Towards the back there is a bar (which can be a little loud if your tables close by) where pre-dinner drinks can be had. The restuarant is well run, good servers who knew the menu well and were very helpful. Whether in season or off season you can always be guaranteed a great meal and you won't be disappointed. We take all of our guests and everyone raves about the food and fun atmosphere. Becky at the hostess stand is unbelievable despite the restaurant's fast pace she is always so welcoming and accomodating. Your table is always set and available on time. Nick the bartender makes everyone feel special yet at home. James is a delight and always a smiling face. This restaurant is the best for food as well as service.
