Bistro 7Welcome BackWe dined there a few years ago and loved the overall experience. Dined there two years ago and couldn't wait to get out: annoying waiter, subpar food, and very bad vibe. The last experience was a major hit. The scallops and soft shell crabs wer divine. The beets appetizer was creative and tasty, and the service was nice. The remodeling is also a big plus.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic delightightful BYOBMy wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our quiet, romantice dinner here. An unnassuming storefront leads directly into a quaint, home-style dining area. We were seated upon arrival at our reservation time, and the service was timed perfectly, definitely not rushed, although it was not crowded at our later dining time. The beet appetizer was outstanding, and the scallop entree for my wife was to die for. The goat’s cheese and bacon tartiflette which accompanied the beef entree was outstanding as well, excellent presentation and flavors.
Server was very nice and professional, and the chef visited the table to ask how our meal was. A nice touch.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlmost4 people, different dishes, everyone sampled each others, and the food was excellent overall except for the crust of the lemon meringue dessert (dry and lacked flavor). Main complaint was skimpy portions for the price. I would recommend it to certain friends, with reservations, because it shows some creative promise, and sources of dissatisfaction could change over time.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest BYOB restaurant tin Old CityCreative, seasonal and sustainable menu brings you back to this little gem often.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall kitchenOut of this tiny kitchen come beautiful presented food with fresh incriedients.

I hadn't been to Bistro 7 in a while, but will make sure that it is on our list of restaurants that we simply love.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat TimeWe enjoyed the food a great deal. Obviously prepared with great care and expertise. We will visit Bistro 7 regularily5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA great spot! Wonderful food.A great spot! Wonderful food. The menu always has choices that include complex flavors that have been chosen and prepared with skill. Wait staff are attentive and helpful. When I go, I always winder how I could have forgotten to go for a while. It's clear that a chef is doing what he loves and we benefit.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the third time we'veThis was the third time we've been to Bistro 7. Again, I think the food is outstanding and its presentation is great. The service is attentive without being intrusive. It would be hard to improve on the cooking. The cook fortunately has a light hand with the salt. Never the less, the flavors of the food were quite fine. Many restaurants are a bit freer with salt than I would prefer. A word of warning for those not from Philadelphia - It is BYOB. I did not find this to be a problem since I was prepared.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal. The chef/ownerGreat meal. The chef/owner is personable and informative. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner; the gnocchi(s) much better than Vetri's.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe gnocchi, foie gras andThe gnocchi, foie gras and duck were outstanding. My girlfriend ordered the short ribs, which were good, but somewhat lackluster in terms of flavor. Everything else - service and ambience - was excellent, and the duck was exquisite.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGem of a BYOB. Best mealGem of a BYOB. Best meal I've had in a long time. Our server Ricky was very accommodating. We wanted everything coursed out one at a time in a very specific order so we could share and it was seamless.
Food was perfect. The Striped Bass and Short Ribs were amazing and the Gnocchi was so good we had 2 orders.
The other patrons were very friendly too. We ended up trading some wine with the table next to us.
If you're under 40 I would suggest going later. For our 630 res we were the only people under 50.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe 10-course tasting menuThe 10-course tasting menu was phenomenal! Come hungry, because it's lots of food. All dishes were different and complex. Bring your own wine. Service was good but not in your face.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMJust loved the food. CouldJust loved the food. Could eat there every night.
Liked the BYOB factor for center city.
Will deffinitely go back again, and again.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBistro 7 is a great restaurantBistro 7 is a great restaurant that has a fun, hip vibe and really excellent consistently good good. We've been there a lot and will continue to go back.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good. It isFood was very good. It is a small place and as mentioned by previous reviewers tables by the door in winter can be drafty.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe gnocci was wonderful,The gnocci was wonderful, that should be an entree itself. I've only recently become a fan of beets, and their beet salad on arugula over a bed of herbed creme fraiche made me a believer. The lamb tagine had me considering purchasing a tagine to see if I could duplicate this dish. The duck confit did not disappoint. The only part about the meal I wasn't not completely thrilled with was the chocolate malted mousse. Tasted much like chocolate pudding, but that was alright because I was more than happy with the apple crisp.
The place is small and there were only two servers on the floor. This was fine when there were only three tables to service. Even still, that did not dim the experience. Definitely worth the trip.1/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
