Only people in the place. Food was mediocre at best. I had to send their featured steak back as it wa tough and cooked medium well whe I had requested rare. The rest of the party was similarly disappointed.

We had a nice meal at Bistro 1907 on New Year's Day evening. We both went with something a bit lighter because of earlier indulgences, and the food was fresh and flavorful. They have a small wine list with a very local focus, and we had a fantastic Mouvedre from Spann Vineyards - the highlight of the meal! The only drawback was the abundance of amaryllis blooms - the scent was kind of overpowering. A nice find in downtown Santa Rosa.

Where to start? How about at the end........"all in all, this had to be one of the worst dinning experiences I have ever had in Sonoma County" My bad. A late change in plans found us needing a place to dine on Christmas day. Choices were limited or non-existent. So we took a chance on Bistro 1907. We arrived for our 6pm reservation five minutes early. The main dining room was half full and in the hands of two young fellows. The one who greeted us was the host/waiter/bartender/busboy. After a ten minute wait he showed us to our (unset) table and proceeded to set it as we were sitting down. The menu that evening was prix fixe: $45. A salad (poor) was the only starter available, no choice of appetizer, in fact, no appetizers at

Newly renovated restaurant in historic hotel. Previous owner specialized in European fare -- this is now more California eclectic. Enjoyable experience.

At 6-7 weeks in, I'd expect they bring their "A-game" to every plate. They didn't. The crab cakes were laced with celery and onion and too spicy to eat. The cesar salad was also spiced with aheavy hand. The risoto was bland. There was a giant prawns special that was decent, as was the regular chicken menu item. The clam chowder was average to below-average. And then there is the completely sub-par wine selection - this is Sonoma County. Only one Pinor Noir to "choose" from? (although, in all fairness, it was a decent bottle of wine). The shining star was the wait staff - all of them. Very friendly. Good tempo. Completely on top of it. The venue is nice too - if you go, make sure you walk back to the "gallery."

We were a group of 5 dinning at Bistro 1907 for a special occasion dinner and were extremely disappointed. The ambiance is charming; the wait staff friendly and professional but the evening went downhill from there. There is no wine list; we were offered a selection of only two reds and two whites. All were inexpensive, young Sonoma County wines. The beer selection was also feeble. The ribeye steak was approximately 1/3” thick and badly overcooked, the baked potato had the consistency a rubber ball. I sent the meal the back only to be told the kitchen was out of steak. This was on a Saturday night at 7 PM, when we were seated we were the only guests in the restaurant. The meals for the rest of my party were acceptable but nothing special

They are just getting their feet wet but they worked very hard to make my experience a good one. If you like old buildings this is a gem.
