We decided to try this restruant to celebrate 2013 and get ready for 2014. You see I was proposed to in Paris, France. We have fallen in love with the French culture and of course the food! The food here at Bistro 1902 was authentic and oh so amazing!

I took a friend here for lunch. The waitress was new so she didn't know what OT was, or had tried very many of the menu offerings. I ordered a burger medium well done. It came very well done, to the point of being rubbery. Still I was willing to eat it with a knife and fork. Unfortunately, the chef mixes onions in the meat, but fails to mention it on the menu. Onions and I have a love/hate relationship, so I had to send the burger back. Since my friend was already eating her meal, I grabbed some fries from the burger plate to eat while I waited for a salad, with encouragement from our waitress. Imagine my shock when I was charged $3.95 for french fries. I hope that $4 was worth it to the restaurant, since I won't be dining here again.

The food was excellent. I noticed one waiter when cleaning off one of the tables, instead of putting a new tablecloth down he just flipped the one used and placed back on the table. On another empty table beside the one I was sitted at I noticed the tablecloth was very wrinkled. Second basket of bread given was cold.

This restaurant has great food, very attentive service, and excellent live entertainment. They also could have great ambiance if they fixed their lighting. For some strange reason, they have installed CFL bulbs everywhere giving off bright harsh white light, which makes you feel like you are somewhere cheap and ruins the mood. If they switched to better mood lighting, this place would be 5 star.

We have been twice now and the quality of food, service, and atmosphere have been outstanding both times. The second time however, there was a violinist playing throughout the meal that made the experience extremely romantic and actually felt like we were in another part of the world. Incredible experience!

We had a reservation for 8pm on Saturday night. It was about 40 min. later that we got seated - at a table that appeared to be just set up, right outside the kitchen/serving area. Obviously very noisy, congested, & not comfortable Every time we tried to get the matre'd he avoided us. Everything seemed to be chaotic and did not result in a relaxing nor enjoyable experience. The food was pretty good however. Oh yeah - there was a roaming violin player which only added to the noise level.

  • The only thing disappointing
    OpenTable Diner Since 2013
    Dined on 11/1/2013
The only thing disappointing about Bistro 1902 was the caliber and quality of food for the price they charged for the meals. I had the filet and my friend had the seafood trio. The filet was cooked perfectly but the creme sauce overwhelmed the subtle and good flavors of the steak, which we found the same for the seafood trio. The seafood trio also tasted boring because of the amount of creme sauce that it was covered in--it definitely not worth $35. The dinner was valued at $150 but didn't meet up to its expectations. I will not be coming back nor will I be recommending Bistro 1902.

The steak was very tender and tasty. The cabernet was excellent and abundant! The violin player added to the happy ambience! The french onion soup was disappointing since I am used to having it as clear broth rather than a pasty broth. The creme brulee was fair. However the great service by the waitress Michele more than made up for some of these issues.

Bistro 1902 offers great French and international cuisine with reasonable prices. We went there for the first time with our best friends who happen to be married on the same day, same year as we to celebrate and started to appreciate the place. Then we went for the second time with new friends and the results were exactly the same in different table with a different waiter. There is one violinist with a nice repertuar who does not follow you at all to get a tip. Sond level is very acceptable, we could talk without effort. Food was excellent in both occasions from appetizer, main course and desert. Specials are not priced too much higher than menu courses. Will definitively come back.

Bistro 1902 is my favorite date night spot. It's got a romantic vibe and the staff is insanely courteous and helpful. Of course, the food is amazing, my boyfriend always orders the Duck Magret (medium well) which is duck breast in a Dijon mustard sauce. I've had a variety of dishes there and I can confidently say that everything on the menu is amazing. The dishes are rich and flavorful so leave your diet at the door. Also, there's a sharing fee and while the portions aren't small I don't think they're big enough to make the fee worth while. Just get a doggie bag and make sure you save room for dessert, too.

Our friends and we enjoyed our meal. The restaurant has good food, but not superb. We went with a coupon, so had a limited menu; therefore it is not fair to evaluate the menu as a whole. It was a great one for talkng because it was quiet, although filled with customers. The service was outstanding. The location is wonderful because there is so much energy and interesting shops and restaurants on both sides of the street. It was a great way to spend a Saturday evening.

This place was nice. A bit small, but the food was great! I had Salmon and it was delicious. The dessert was pretty good too. We went because of a LivingSocial deal and it turned out that we had to pay $40 extra because it did not state that there was a price limit on the entrees for the coupon. The food was a bit pricey. Good for a one time visit. Probably will not return.

The restaurant is located in downtown Hollywood, FL. The staff is mostly French and extremely nice. They boast a nice wine menu, diverse menu, and ambiance. You have the option to dine outside, near the strip or inside. The daily specials are in abundance. On the night that we visited 1902 Bistro, my wife had the Chicken Carbonara and I had the Duck. We both equally enjoyed our dishes. We also tried the crab cakes, along with the house Chardonnay. We plan on making another visit...soon.
