We have been here several times and enjoyed dinner, but this time the potato crusted snapper was bland. The new dining room provided a good setting.

The food at Bistro 18 is always better than I remember - perhaps it is because the prices are higher than merited. When there are specials (restaurant week, ladies' night out, etc.), the place is a great find! The food, although not inspired or innovative in the way that would attract foodies, is quite well prepared and presented. The service is very good without being obsequious. The ambiance is charming - they've turned what could have been a awkward space into an absolutely delightful, charming space.

Overall the food was pretty good and the service was great. The place has an interesting set up. They bought a neighboring store with the plan to expand but didn't. So there are several different rooms you can sit in. We sat by the window which was OK, a bit of a different vibe. I may ask to be sat in the main dining room next time. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Enjoyed yet another wonderful meal at Bistro 18 this past Fri night. Creamy wild mushroom risotto appetizer was rich, earthy and delicious. Potato crusted swordfish with quinoa and pomegranate reduction was cooked to perfection and a generous portion for $29. My husband's NY strip steak with truffle fries was also cooked to order. He ordered the gorgonzola sauce on the side which was a good call as the steak needed little of it. Would have preferred a different vegetable choice than bok choy but otherwise a 5 star meal.

i usually eat at the bistro twice a month - my friend and I are regulars, and we love it here! i always get the lobster and crab quesadilla, which is just heavenly every single time! often I'll get the rack of lamb(yummy) - but just recently I ordered the crusted snapper, which made me very happy! my friend gets the carribean salad and the chicken, and she just raves about it! I can't understand why this place is not crowded during the week!!! I know it is on the weekend. you must try it!

We love going to Bistro 18. The owner is always there to greet you and to be sure that you are comfortable . We were there with friends and the music speaker was right over our heads, our friend asked to lower the music . When that didn't work the owner offered to change our table. We did and it was perfect. We all enjoyed our meals. The salads are delicious and fresh. We had lamb dishes and fish dishes, all were prepared and presented beautifully. Tasted perfect. This is a very accommodating restaurant. You feel at home.

Appetizers left a lot to be desired. Beef spring rolls were cold. Stuffed clams were fishy. Beet salad was "meh". Service was okay, most staff seemed nice but our waiter seemed like he was having a long night and was over it. Entrees were good we had the veal oso buco and someone in our group ordered lamb chops. Dinner salvaged the night before that it was really pretty bad. Was not expensive so overall just ok and a decent value but unlikely we'd go back.

We had another wonderful meal at Bistro on Friday night. The special salad of endive, apples, fennel and blueberry goat cheese was outstanding. All the flavors meshed perfectly. My wife had rack of lamb which was terrific and I had the Tuna which was a new presentation for me since I had not ordered it in a while. It was great. I finished every morsel. As always the service was very attentive without getting in the way. I highly recomend Bistro 18.

We were looking for a casual yet good restaurant near the BYO painting studio we were attending (Pinot's Palette) on Bloomfield Ave. and we lucked out when we found Bistro 18. It is conveniently located near a parking garage so parking was not an issue and after dinner we could walk a couple of blocks to our painting studio. We loved the fact that you can sit in this "hallway" that has floor to ceiling windows that make you feel like you're outside. My friend ordered the lamb chops and said it was the best she's ever had, the appetizers were delicious too. I would definitely go back. The restaurant uses organic food and it's also a BYO, which I liked.

I had heard really great things about Bistro 18 and they were right. We sat in an enclosed outdoor area that was adjacent to the street and was lovely.
