Diner Reviews
  • "The pre-theater menu was good. The food was average. The service was efficient. It appears that many customers were enjoying the steak for 2. My salmon tasted a little too "fishy"."

  • "We visit Manhattan two to three times per year, and we always make sure we stop at Bistecca Fiorentina. The veal with truffles is my favorite. Always great service. A hidden gem in the Theater District!"

  • "After discovering this place on restaurant row, we have returned on our visits to NYC. Staff is friendly, efficient. Food is very good with fixed price menu for pre-theater group which has ample variety. Busy. You have to reserve ahead. We had wanted to go on a Saturday night, but 5 weeks in advance there were no reservations available. We'll be back next year... I hope..."

  • "Un menú magnífico de precio fijo. Polenta y Gorgonzola 10/10, trucha con almendras 10/10. Ricos postres."

  • "We ate post-theater. Food was routine at best. I've eaten bistecca fiorentina in Florence, and this was no chianina steak. (Of course it was only 39 bucks too.) It was OK. The pasta was significantly past al dente. But they did a terrific job from a service standpoint, and the pickings are slim in the theater area generally, so overall OK. Probably wouldn't rush back though."

  • "A lovely place on Restaurant Row. Greeted by a friendly staff and a warm interior. Excellent Veal Piccata and Veal Parmesan. I had a salad with grilled shrimp and grilled hearts of palm delicious! A great staff everything timed beautifully did not feel rushed. They served a good cocktail and had a nice wine list. We will go back next year when we are in town!"

  • "Treat your table to a Tuscan Steak for one to share! Yes it is $42.50 but so yummy and they take it off the bone and slice in to pieces to share...no sides with it tho so get a pasta entree too."

  • "Great Italian Restaurant that specializes in Steak!"

  • "Attentive and friendly service, unbelievably moderately priced wine list (several wines in the mid-twenties), consistently well prepared dishes. My wife and I shared an appetizer of hot antipasto, followed by pasta with lobster (me) and pasta with rabbit (my wife). Both dishes had lots of meat, well prepared and delicious. We have been there several times for pre theater dinner, and have always been happy. Our bottle of wine, Montefalco rosso (a mix of three grape varieties) was well worth the price of $48."

  • "When we entered on a Tuesday afternoon we were the first people there at 4:30. It got a little busier before we left with the pre theater crowd. Service was excellent. It was typical Italian so nothing really interesting for foodies but we enjoyed it. We had timing restrictions otherwise we would not have chosed a theater district restaurant but this one was fine."

  • "My Husband and I had dined here a few years ago and remembered that it was a great find. With out-of-town guests visiting, we thought we should try it again. Well, they didn't disappoint! Service from whole staff was great! Food was delicious as usual. Steaks/Filet Mignon done to perfection--appetizer of Polenta with Gorgonzola--Prociutto/braceola and cheese was a great starter. Wine and drink list was extensive. Please don't miss the chance to stop in even just for drinks at the bar to see the atmosphere here!!"

  • "This little gem in the basement of a row house served incredible food with impeccable service. The portions were sizeable and the prices reasonable considering it was downtown NYC. As the place was small, the tables were packed in close together making it quite loud in the restaurant, which was the only detractor. However, it enabled conversation with the couples on each side of us and we enjoyed sharing experiences, information, and even food with them. It was a great experience and definitely worth returning ."

  • "First time at Bistecca Fiorentina, went for dinner before our broadway show and couldnt have picked a better Italian restaurant. The wait staff is amazing and extremely helpful. We purchased a bottle of wine and our glasses were never empty. They have a very good menu and a bunch of specials for the day. The table and silverware are extremely clean and so is the space. I will definitely be back."

  • "We dined at Bistecca Fiorentina last Wednesday evening. I had researched it on the internet and found it to our liking. The menu was very good and we were very pleased with our choices. the service was outstanding. Staff was very attentive and many serviced us. it wasn't a busy night so I am not sure how it would be when crowded but we will certainly visit it again when we are in New York."

  • "This is a small friendly place tucked away on restaurant row in the theatre district. Great classic Italian food. Large portions deliciously prepared. We recently had a great pre theatre experience there. We were in a real hurry because we only had an hour to eat. They were just great getting our orders and food out quickly and accommodating us. Both my own and my friend's veal was deliciously prepared and tender. Both our wives had simple grilled salmon that was also wonderful. I highly recommend for pre-theatre, or really anytime."

  • "I've been going there for six years when the occasion suites us. It is small and quiet, except near show times. The food is what I would expect in an Italian place in New York, except it adds the extra of the Tuscan Steak. Service is impeccable. You are never ignored."

  • "this place is why we try to avoid restaurant row the waiter was not attentive and any question about something on the menu food or wine he just went directly to a highest price item when I gave him a reasonable range on a bottle of red 40-60 he made a face and our service went down from there ! Won't go back again just book early for Becco 2 doors down that place is food and serivce"

  • "This restaurant has a red prosciutto slicing machine standing in the dining room! The prosciutto is sliced thin and lean - its offered on top of melon or as part of an anti-pasto platter. Entrees and wine are great too! Service is perfect - lots of waiters, all of whom can wait on you, instead of one waiter per table."
