  • "We love the changes in the restaurant and the menu. We are also happy that many favorites were included on the new menu. We started off with the salmon belly risotto appetizer and it was spectacular! I would enjoy this as an entrée if offered in the future. I'm happy to see that the oso buco and the lamb oso buco are still on the menu. I love the addition of local fresh vegetables. My husband had the bone-in ribeye special and was not disappointed. The addition of the fingerling potatoes and roasted root vegetables was perfect. If you've never been to Bistecca I definitely would recommend a visit. For dessert try a soufflé or the chocolate destruction is absolutely...I just really have no words."

  • "I love the character this venue exudes, and had trouble deciding what the best dish is. After sampling the salmon, and steak dish, I focused on the shrimp scampi as being my favorite. It is well seasoned, fresh, and prepared so it has a little bit of crunch to offer as well!"

  • "This was our second visit to The Grotto (now Bistecca) in as many months. We were very pleased with our initial visit and returned for a birthday dinner to find that The Grotto was remodeled and is undergoing a name change to Bistecca (a Northern Italian Steakhouse). None the less, we had excellent meals (Seafood Pasta and Veal DaVinci) that was very well prepared and plated. Service was very good, wthout being hovering. As we have experienced, the Executive Chef and Owner, Morris Salerno came by to greet us, which is a very nice touch. Very good food, service and a nice change in decor. I'd strongly recommend The Grotto/Bistecca as a dining choice in the Flower Mound/Highland Village area."

  • "Food was good as always ... and while not a cheap restaurant, it doesn't pillage and plunder either. Good value for fine dining. They have really freshened the place up since our last visit ... two thumbs up on that. My one complaint is that there seem to be a lot of regulars who take advantage of that regularness ... while there isn't a dress code, these folks could certainly try a little harder. Of bigger issue is that it never fails that we get parked next to a large party of regulars who seem to want to have a party ... loud, distracting, and the reason why I did not check the "Romantic" box above. But I do get that regulars pay the bills, not folks like me who show up 2 or 3 times a year."

  • "It won't matter how high you set your expectations, you will not be disappointed with thi restaurant. I highly recommend "The Grotto" whether you are looking for a special celebration dinner, entertaining top customers or simply want to enjoy some exceptional food. Our party tried a wide variety of choices and every dish was described as "OMG"!!! The She Crab Soup is the best soup I have ever had. All of our food including steaks, fish, salads and appetizers were prepared perfectly. My only hesitancy in giving this restaurant such a great review is I don't want too many people to find out about it and make it difficult for me to get reservations in the future. This is definitely our new Favorite Restaurant. We can't wait to go again."

  • "Chef Morris Salerno's Grotto is one of the best restaurants in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex. Seafood is fresh and abundant. Great Steaks, Veal Chop, Osso Bucco are gourgeous. Appetizers are a wonderful adventure full of diverse flavors and ingredients. Desserts are masterfully prepared. My favorites? Start with Shrimp Grotto, Steak Salerno, Sicilian Crab Claws, or Foie Gras. The Ceasar and the Spinach Salads are nicely done. For entrees, try the Veal DiVinci, the Osso Bucco, Red Snapper w/ Lump Crabmeat, Bacon-Wrapped Scallops w/ Apple Chutney, or Duck Confit w/ Seared Duck Breast. The Soufflés are a 'must' for dessert! Friendly service, good value, and delicious cuisine make the Grotto one of my all-time favorite fine dining experiences."

  • "Had an awesome dinner at the grotto for our 2nd wedding anniversary. The food was extremely good. Had a perfectly cooked ribeye and my wife enjoyed her salmon dish. Even the bread was good. To wish us a happy anniversary they sent out a chocolate and vanilla mousse desert ehich wqs one of the best desserts I've ever eaten. Would come back just for that. Service was average. Nothing bad nothing out of this world. We will be back for sure"

  • "We dined on the delightful patio. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious, especially the she crab soup, the occo bucco and the red snapper. It was our grandson's 11th birthday, so the chef invited him to join him in the kitchen to create his own dessert. We captured it all on video. We came away feeling the whole experience was a great treat, and would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone."
