  • "We were two couples celebrating the birthdays of our husbands. First visit and it was a wonderful experience. Dinner was excellent. Service was outstanding. Two of us had the sea bass, one had a veal entre, and one had a pasta (w/o chicken). The only negative I would have is that there are no selections for a vegetarian...unless something gets altered. Our waitress took our pictures after dinner. She also served us complementary desserts to celebrate the birthdays...very nice touch. Thank you for a nice evening out."

  • "The steak was GREAT! The brown sauce on top was a little salty but pushed it aside & the steak was still TERRIFIC!! Spinach salad was a great addition -- will definitely have this again! The baby veggies were a bit overcooked but still tasted ok. The strawberry pie was like non other I've ever had -- worth a try!"

Ambience rated at 3 stars b/c the décor is a bit outdated. Overall though, the food has never disappointed and will be back in the future."

This was my first visit and we were just in the mood for appetizers and drinks, but everything was great. Nice outside patio. Relaxed in the bar afterward, and same great service.   • "When it was the Grotto it was good, and now that is Bistecca it seems to have pushed into great. Hard to pin down exactly why, but there is a great vibe there now. It still has all the personal feel that Morris is famous for, yet a touch more. The wait staff is friendly, attentive, and professional. The specials have been a nice change, but luckily they kept their She Crab Soup on the menu. (A must)"

  • "This restaurant got a makeover in design and name, but the food didn't get a makeover (thank goodness) as it has always been fantastic. The main dining room is done in neutrals which is very pleasing. Our server was very attentive and recommended items that she personally favored. I personally enjoy the mussels, the shrimp Grotto, and the steak Grotto. Really everything on the menu is very good, well presented, and well priced. The wine pours are very good as well. Morris, the owner and chef, makes it a point to stop by each table and really makes you feel welcomed. I (we were a party of 6) would definitely go back to dine."

  • "Not sure this restaurant (formerly The Grotto) relaunching as Bistecca has really served any meaningful purpose. The menu is more reduced now and the same space has been updated with new tables/ chairs and drapes. Maybe the new local 4-star joints have made the chef nervous and he felt the need to refresh. There appear to be a ton more people hovering around yet it still took nearly 2 hours for my wife and I to get through dinner. Very slow service. The new hostesses at the front are...wow. That's certainly one change for the better. Nonetheless, pretty average dinner for a pretty steep price tag. Doubt we'll be returning. :-("

  • "We were celebrating Father's Day & had a lovely dinner out on the patio. The serrano pepper mango margaritas were magical & the foi gras was delightful. My husband had the veal osso bucco & I had the chili rubbed sea bass & both were so very good. The special Father's Day dessert was a chocolate exploision filled with cheesecake - my goodness! This is a wonderful restaurant with a good family feel to it - the chef came out to visit with us & sat down to chat. What a lovely evening!"

  • "First time to the newly renamed Bistecca and it was a pleasant experience. The food was up to Chief Morris's standards, tasty with beautiful presentation. On a down side, the service was not up to the exceptions for this price point. Additionally, while cosmetic, the wine list and other items still have "The Grotto" logo and feel - one again, at this price point should have already been moved to new naming/Logo. In Summary, I would go again, enjoyed the "no need to turn the table" attitude and food taste/Quality. "

  • "I made reservations online to celebrate my dear friends birthday, we had a party of four. I was pleasantly greeted by a Valet attendant and then equally greeted by the Hostess station where 2 delightful ladies were well versed in our reservation and special birthday celebration. Our server #47 - I apologize for not recalling you name, is outstanding - she's been at the restaurant for years and her experience shows. And no, I'm not a regular - but I'm probably about to become one....Ha! We had a fresh caprese salad and spinach salad to start both were very good Our main course consisted of Sea Bass, Snapper and Ribeye - as we all tried a taste of each others plates the oooohs and ahhhhs circled our table. One dish was better than the next"

  • "Was in the area for work and made a stop here for dinner because we seen it on hungry investors. Pretty big John Taffer fan. I got the lamb osso bucco style. It was the easily the best lamb I have ever had. The meat was so tender I didn't even use the knife provided. Another member of our party got the ny strip and also had very positive things to say. If in the area, I would recommend you give it a chance, however keep in mind that it's probably going to cost you about $50 a meal, which isn't for everyone. "

  • "Good: price and quality of food. Bad: service was slow nonattentive. Booked for our anniversary and were sat one table from the front door, when there were plenty of open better tables. The ugly, no one asked how our food was after we told the server the oysters (best tasting we've had) were not cut from the shell. We merely got an oh sorry from the waiter who seemed to spend half his night waiting at the bar for drinks. Then as we received our main course the owner appears to sign a book for a guest, walks right by our "front" table asks a table two from us about their night they had no food at this point. For a local place I expect a personal touch that they do not provide. Will not be back."

  • "We went to BISTECCA after finding it on Open Table to celebrate my husbands birthday. We cannot say enough about the excellent food and service. Even though this is a steakhouse, we didn't eat steak. Our table had veal, sea bass, salmon and Chipino (of course we all tasted each others food). It was a great experience!!!"

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary and Bistecca proved to be a great choice. I like that it was a small, personal setting and noticed that two other couples were there for their anniversary. The service was professional and courteous from the time you walked in the door to the service at the table. The food was excellent and reasonably priced and the wine selection could serve a variety of tastes. I also enjoyed their accommodating a personal request to have a gift (anniversary ring) that I got my wife be presented along with the desert tray. The desert was excellent, the ring box was set between two deserts and included "25th Anniversary Congratulations" in chocolate written on the tray. We will defiantly be back."

  • "We went for our anniversary. We decided to let Chef Morris cook whatever he wanted for us. He didn't disappoint. The food was amazing! 5 courses plus dessert. The wait staff needs a little more education on what they are serving if it isn't on the menu. Our waiter misidentified things on our plates for 3 out of the five courses. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt since we didn't order off the menu - still gave service 4 stars. The dessert presentation alone made up for anything else!!! "
