  • "Restaurant was pleasant and service was acceptable; however, the food was uninspired and mediocre at best. Quite disappointing for what we expected would be a quality restaurant."

  • "The loft has an amazing view, and a little quieter than the ground level which is nice. The food was excellent and the service was good....but I knew that, I've been here several times:)"

  • "We were looking to eat close to Castro. It was Pride day and most "special" places were booked but Bisou still had room for us. Met some nice people who recommended food and drinks. Service was very friendly, just a bit spotty due to the crazy traffic on that particular day. I can't answer the questions about specific recommendations yet because I haven't been there more than this once, but the place seems to have a great bar scene, however no outdoor dining or scenic view, ...except for a good look at the crowd on castro! Food and drinks were interesting and very good. We will definitely come back and check it out this place at different times of the day and week!"

  • "Great food. Too noisy and cramped. Had to yell across the table to be heard during Sunday brunch. Would not go back."

  • "Bisou Bistro is a fun, hip, and delicious restaurant! If you're looking for the perfect place to brunch or lunch in SF, Bisou is definitely a place you should eat at. It's a cute little French Bistro and you can get bottomless mimosas for only $12 a person! Best deal ever! And the food is reasonably priced and sooooo good! Been here a few times and it never disappoints :)"

  • "Although Bisou has been around for a while, they have started to source their produce locally and they are moving towards a more organic menu. I can say that I have noticed a change, for the better, in the taste of their veggies. Everything else was still up to my expectations and I can't wait to see the additions Chef Nick will bring in the coming months."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "Nick has been evolving his restaurant concept since we started visiting several years ago and it is coming along wonderfully! He has developed a private farm to raise the finest and tastiest vegetables. The food all comes from within 90 miles and is fresh. He has a great wine list. You cannot go bad dining at Bisou, unless of course you fail to make a reservation! We shared a steak tartare that was made perfectly, just the right amount of spice, all prepared at the table. I had the canard which was awesome. I got to taste the veggie souflee and the pork chop - both perfect. Nick suggested an awesome burgundy that went well with everything."

  • "I like how this place is accommodating with good food and drinks. I wouldn't come here for groups larger than 8 folks, but I have seen 12-20 folks sitting downstairs! Servers were friendly and actually FRENCH! How rare to have a authentic French restaurant in SF :)"

  • "Neither the food nor the service were exceptional-- in fact, both were pretty underwhelming by San Francisco standards. Our hostess failed to give us menus, and when we finally got some, no-one bothered to take our order for a solid half hour beyond that. The filet was artfully hidden beneath arugula, to disguise the fact that the portion was small, and padded out with a very strange and unpleasant stuffed tomato that might have been at home in a London pub, but not a French bistro. The meat tasted like it came from Safeway, and the French Onion soup was salty and greasy, and the Gruyere was overpowering. This is two-star cuisine passing itself off as four. I've had better meals in airports-- possibly even hospitals."

  • "The Kobe beef Tartare is hand cut, mixed by the Chef himself at your table. I would rate it the # 1 Steak Tartare I have experienced. The waiter was very attentive to our needs and made sure the experience was awesome."

  • "We were looking for a fun brunch place and Bisou fit the bill. The atmosphere, food and staff and very French/European but with the added benefit of endless mimosas! Great food, especially if you like eggs benedict."

  • "I heard of bisou through various brunch spot rankings in SF, saw the menu, and was really excited to go. I got there and it was buzzing with electronic music and beautiful people. Not generally a bad thing. We ordered and our dishes came out wrong. Worse yet, when we got that squared away the food we got was rubbery, stale, and room temperature. It had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp or out for too long prior to it being served. The mimosas were good, until I looked down at the bar and saw open glasses of mimosas just sitting there through out my entire meal, premade and maybe a foot away from diners, slowly being picked off as they were ordered. It was disgusting overall and won't go back."

  • "Menu has changed since the last visit, but still authentically French. Nice to have "petite" versions of the entrees -- big enough for a senior appetite!"

  • "Went back for the 4th or 5th time to Bisou and have had their frisee salad several times and never disappoints - lots of ham and even a breaded egg in there - gotta try it. Also had the hanger steak and fries - with wonderful sauces, and we had the duck leg - so tender."

  • "Simply delicious, beautifully presented food. It's an intimate, quiet atmosphere so you can actually speak with the person you came with. Try it you'll like it. "

  • "Dead on French onion. Meat and cheese appetizer filled me up. The special was albacore tuna with no equal. Nick grows his own organic vegetables in sustainable garden he owns. Amazing!"

  • "Fine dining with an inspired chef, augmented by superb service. The atmosphere is French with a twist. I've been here many times and my partner and I have found it a special place from the beginning. The menu is inspired and changes often enough that you're constantly surprised. It's an exceptional value."

  • "This was my third time to Bisou. The food was excellent. The service was good, but inconsistent. After taking our order, we never saw our waiter again. It was the 'busboy' who delivered our food, bussed our table, took our dessert order, and delivered the check. From a customer's perspective this is awkward when it comes to leaving a gratuity. I docked 1 star off of 'Ambience' because the table spacing seemed cramped... there was less than 2 ft. between us and the adjacent party."

  • "We were all very impress with the food!! It didn't take a long time to get service or food... It wasn't very busy as usually is, maybe because we went on a Saturday .. Overall was a fun brunch "

  • "Bisou is great for a boozy, group brunch. We had a reservation for 5 people at 1pm on Easter Sunday. Given how packed it was, I was not surprised that we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Our server was friendly & accommodating, and kept our bottomless mimosas flowing. The food itself was standard brunch fare, done well. "

  • "We waited an awkwardly long time to place our order, and the server forgot to put mine in. I'm not the kind of person who stresses about such things, but they're pretty popular and they're not new, so you'd think they'd have it worked out by now. Our group sat near the front, which seems to be where the (very loud) speakers are, and it was impossible to converse other than with the person next to you. I had the duck confit eggs benedict, which was lovely, and my chef friend raved about the perfectly poached egg. We had a side of French toast, which was made from cheeky baguette slices, but sadly the bread was unusually tough. The staff was friendly but missed the mark, and the food was mixed. My verdict is "room for improvement.""

  • "The food was more for people who had hangover the previous night and the service was bad. We made a reservation for 10 people and 9 people have already arrived, but they still will NOT let our group seat until the last person arrive."

    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Love the energy here! I'd recommend the Benedicts - so good. This is a great place to have bottomless mimosa group brunch - the servers know what they're doing and how to handle crowds."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Went here for brunch and was really disappointed. The service was terrible. They had no duck (the only reason I went there was for the duck confit benedict). The benedict's we did order were bad; there was more bread to the benedict than there was anything else. The eggs weren't poached, they were hard boiled-- even I can poach an egg better than that. The music was also way too loud for a Saturday morning. We will not be returning."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "If your focus is on the FOOD and service, this is the place. Predictible quality with fresh ingredients and staff that make you feel welcome and that they really care about your satisfaction. Their only "attitude" is to make your meal enjoyable. Brunch has been as enjoyable as dinner."
    Dined on 4/1/2014
  • "While I appreciate a good place to serve me mimosa pitchers, decent food and some techno while I eat, I unfortunately would have enjoyed this 15 years ago. It's loud, crowded, smells musty from the people who just rolled out of bed too hung over to shower. Again, if you can care less about these things, go for it. I personally could have done without it."
    Dined on 3/30/2014
  • "You know the food is good when all 5 of our plates looked like they were licked clean. The scene was very lively and who doesn't like bottomless mimosas. I would highly recommend this place for brunch. Ain't no brunch like a Castro brunch:-)"

  • "Booked a Saturday afternoon brunch reservation 3/29/14. Arrived on time to find the place utterly packed -- I mean fire hazard packed -- could barely even get in the door to check in with the maitre d'. As we began our reluctant wait to be seated, it became clear they had a major reservation backlog on their hands. They just began calling out, "Reservations for 5? For 4?" hoping to seat any larger party as a table opened. After waiting for 20 minutes, we gave up and went down the street to Pesce where there was no wait for a delicious, noise-free, non-crowded brunch. I've been to Bisou before, the food is good and I'll try again, but they need to not overbook reservations. Until then, take a lot of patience if you decide to eat there."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "The payment method did not work as it should because the waiter ask me to show the app to confirm the payment."
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "What's the point of making a reservation if your table isn't ready for another 30 minutes."
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "My girlfriend and I both had the Steak Frites which was incredible. The onion soup was apparently only okay (she had some, I did not) but otherwise we had an awesome time. Creme Brulee was great as well."
