  • "I love this spot.To see artists I'm already familiar with or unknown(to me), it's a fun, great time. The underground venue makes this even more special & intimate like your own private concert. The service and food are consistently tasty. So my overall experience is always wonderful."

  • "We wanted something different and went for a night of Jazz. Music and atmosphere was great. Definite hit for night out whilst on holiday in San Francisco"

  • "The music was great as was the intimate setting. The food was lousy as was the service. They certainly treated us as if they didn't want us to come back. Took forever to get drinks and even longer just to order food. The place was practically empty so there was no excuse for poor service; there was plenty of staff. I ordered a biscuit basket and the mac and cheese. I've had better biscuits at KFC and the mac and cheese was dry, burnt and not worth eating. I walked away hungry. My husband had the fried chicken which he said had good flavor, but was dry. He felt like he's had better potatoes and slaw at KFC or other fast food restaurants. Loved the music, but won't waste my money going back and I won't recommend to others."

  • "Saw Junior Watson, one of my favorite guitar players on the 4th of July at Biscuits and blues. I have been there many times, and it's always great. Good seating, good sound system, which is not too loud, and the southern food is excellent. I had the jambalaya with biscuits this last time, and it was fantastic, and so was the service. I highly recommend this club!"

  • "Other than that ... Really enjoyed everything about the evening :)"

  • "What a great evening. Made 6:30 reservations and didn't realize our Hilton Union Square Hotel was so close. Had a drink and then dinner which you have to have for the early show. Didn't expect a great meal but the crawfish etouffee was excellent down to the last grain of rice. Just enough and very satisfying. The show ...... Earl Thomas and Rhumboogies was fantastic and a 90 munite set. Couldn't have asked for a better evening out!!!"

  • "The service staff is very adept at maintaining a good level of service throughout a live music show - and the home-made ginger beer was astounding. Everything was reasonably priced - however we did not eat dinner there."

  • "We came to see our friend Earl Thomas for our anniversary weekend and was not surprised at how wonderful the show was and the food was outstanding. Our server (a little tiny girl with dark hair) was very attentive to our needs."

  • "Great venue to see the blues, probably our 4th or 5th time there, always a great show and the food is very good to outstanding...had the fried chicken and it was very tasty!"

  • "Biscuits and Blues is a classic basement blues venue - intimate and dark where you are up close and personal with the musicians. The jumbulaya, shrimp creole, and biscuits are excellent, with healthy portions, and fit right in with the gritty blues. I've enjoyed many memorable evenings there."

  • "Love going to Biscuit & Blues for music. Venue is small and cozy, which makes everyone pretty close to the performers. They have full dinner service, but ideally you order before the performance. We have been there several times, and it seems the service is getting slower and slower. They need more servers. I get they need to serve food before the performers hit the stage; seems to me they should hire more servers for just that goal. We waited 20 minutes before anyone came and took our drink order, let alone the food order. And, we had to wave someone down for that...only 5 minutes before the show was to start. We'll still return...but, more servers PLEASE. This was our experience the last two visits."

  • "Great place to see blues. Small space so you are close to the musicians. Good Southern/Cajun food and pleasant service. I would go there again to see a music act that I was interested in."

  • "It is great that San Francisco has a tourist spot dedicated to live Blues and I recommend you going and paying the cover charge if you like good music...just don't expect a dining experience of any quality. We didnt try everything, but the soup and Gumbo we ordered were not great."

  • "I visited Biscuit and Blues with some friends whilst in town and was not disappointed. It's a great, small, blues venue and the band where fantastic. The food was surprisingly good too, got to try Succotash for the first time - really good."

  • "Best live blues in northern California! Relatively small club, so you're never more than 30 feet from the stage. It's easy to get to (just off Union Square) and you can munch on biscuits (and much more) while drinking in assorted cocktails, wine or beer, all while drinking in the BLUES. What more could you ask for?"

  • "Always special. Having attended several concerts at B&B, there have been no disappointments. Headliners, menu, service are friendly, professional and something to look forward to. From KettleOne/creative libations, to varied small plates, entrees, and sides, the atmosphere/clientele/fans make the evening a fun/happy and memorable experience. If you haven't been: GO. If you've already been: go AGAIN!"

  • "Music was awesome, food unremarkable. Server let us know she was new to explain service problems. Biscuits were hard as stones."
    Dined on 6/17/2014
  • "I have been here a couple of times and tried a few cocktails - they are all on the average side. The beer selection is ok - doesn't really have any craft brew. Being vegetarian, I haven't really tried their food much, but tried their biscuits on a couple of occasions and found them to be just acceptable. I would think biscuits in general would be a source of pride for a southern restaurant. Not in this case. But the only reason to go to this place is the music and that's always great! Good lineup, nice sound and ambience."

  • "I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Everything we ordered was terrible. The biscuits were cold. The chicken was tasteless. The ribs were awful. The bread pudding dessert was so dry we couldn't eat it. I would never eat here again. Worst meal I ever had in San Francisco."
    Dined on 6/12/2014
  • "We were seated for the second show. Waited over 40 minutes for a drink because the barman was washing glasses? Second bottle of champagne also took a while to get ordered and come out. Food however was amazing, chef Emmanuel took time to come see us at our table and recommend outstanding desserts. I think they may need to have more staff on the floor on a busy Friday night. Entertainment was memorable!"

  • "B&B is a great find to hear some good blues. Food and service are excellent. Will definitely return."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "I now see why that you are required to purchase a meal with the early dinner. The food is way too expensive for the quality. Band was good; but a little too loud and the acoustics were off because of the small room and shallow ceiling."
    Dined on 6/6/2014
  • "Come for the Southern cuisine, stay for the Blues. The Crawfish Etoufee was a great bowl of flavors, texture and the right amount of spice. The collard greens were warm and delicious -- I could have ordered seconds. Paired these with a great specialty porter beer. A perfect set up to the energetic and soulful sounds of the blues of SugarRay Rayford. Great night out. Definitely going back for more."

  • "This is the second time my husband and I go to this great place, we are from Mexico and for the second time we go to San Francisco, we included in our plan to have dinner at Biscuits and Blues. The music is always great, the ambience is very nice too. The first time we went (about 10 years ago) we really enjoyed the food, unfortyunately this time the Jambalaya was not goot at all. It was dissapointing becuase we waited for 10 years to come back and eat jambalaya and enjoy the music and it was not the perfect place we experienced last time. Anyway, we will return for sure next time we go to San Francisco and definitively we would recommend this nice place to friends and family."

  • "What a wonderful place - the food was terrific, the music was wonderful, the mood in the place was alive! Our server suggested the étouffée and it was delicious. I thought the prices were reasonable. We had a great time! Thank you! "

  • "The place is small, so make a reservation. And because of its size the place feels very cozy and intimate. The food was hit and miss. Get the Fried Chicken to share (big portions) and a side order of the Collard Greens. Best collard greens EVER! The mac & cheese was watery and bland and the biscuits were a little dry. But the Show was great...Sista Monica was a lot of fun and it was a good time."

  • "Just saw James Harman last Friday. Good food and a super setting. Table view was great and the service was efficient and timely! Would definitely recommend. "

  • "We really enjoyed the night - great blues, and overall a good experience. Jarekus Singleton and his band were fabulous - witty and good communicators. They played an exciting mix of southern blues and hip hop, with a hint of soul. The band made the place memorable for us - it was my first night in San Francisco, and we really lucked out. I booked from Sydney, Australia, which was easy and convenient. Parking was convenient, too - right next door. Generally the food was very good, especially the jambalaya and the yam chips, but the salad was boring (over-endowed with lettuce). "

  • "I would recommend Biscuit and Blues to everyone!!! My husband and I were greeted very warmly, services was wonderful. And then there was the food absolutely tasty!!!! it was hot and everything was good. A pleasant place, music was wonderful, I really can't say enough about this place. Go and see for yourself, you will not forget it we will not."
