Located in the Hampden/Woodberry area of Baltimore and housed in an 1883 stone building, we have 24 taps featuring all craft beers, and over 25 craft beers offered in bottles. We also have a very unique wine list and handcrafted cocktails.   • "I took my mom here, who was visiting for one night, and we loved it! We ordered 2 bruschettas and 2 salads, and it was totally perfect. The food was really delicious, all fresh & healthy ingredients. Our favorite was the bruschetta with grilled peaches and ricotta! Totally delicious. The service was fantastic, the ambience was great!   • "Don't take people you actually want to talk to/hear. Sigh. We planned our big "let's all get together again!!!" night out with 3 other couples. Couldn't hear a word anybody said until the table behind us left. I'm sure we weren't the only group thinking that. It was excessively loud. Took a while to get service, but it was a busy night. We never felt rushed, and everything we ate was good."

  • "Finally made it to Birrotecca after hearing much about it. The food we had was outstanding! Great brussel sprout appetizer and awesome duck duck goose pizza. The drink menu was very strong as well. Dessert was above average but not at the same level as the entrees. Service was satisfactory but forgettable. Definitely recommend for the food."

  • "I've been here twice this month. It is WAY TOO LOUD. Guests are yelling over each other, doesn't appear to be a fault of the building or layout. Owners and staff need to get a handle and keep noise level down. Others were visibly frustrated both times I was here. Staff is visibly overwhelmed. We ordered a starter that took 20 minutes to tell us the kitchen was out, never took another order. We asked for a menu to pick another, never came back until nearly done our meal. Got a drink wrong, but so chaotic we didn't fix it because it was a futile effort. The food is excellent. But you can't enjoy it over the noise, and I have a real pet peeve for servers that can't bring menus, silverware, water, or ask the table how it's doing periodically."

  • "Birroteca has always been a reliable dining experience for us. Their beer and wine selection will satisfy everyone and their food is delish! We sat at the bar and ate dinner. We were lucky enough to sit near the person who makes all of the cheese, meat and caprese dishes. We of course had to order one for ourselves and it was outstanding."

  • "The food for the most part was pretty good. The bruschettas were best, the pasta was average, and the pizzas, which we'd really enjoyed on a previous visit, were sadly very soggy in the middle. Service very spotty/hurried/disorganized, and not overly friendly (but then again, didn't expect much better when sitting in the bar/hightop area) The part that left a particularly bad taste in our mouths, after a nice night out with friends, was reviewing the receipt, and finding that we'd been charged for: 1) an item we didn't order, 2) $1 extra for ice in a drink, and 3) $2 for bread we didn't ask for. Item 1 got fixed, but don't like being nickel and dimed at a place where you're already spending plenty. Sadly, changed our opinion of here."

  • "A great meal from start to finish. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Suggestions made for shared items, calamari and meatballs, started our evening off in the right direction. Our cocktails were inventive and delicious. Our entries... the Tuesday special of duck was memorable. Steak tartar, brussel sprouts and a duck confit rounded out our ordering. All were spot on and would gladly order again. The place is a must go...not fussy or pretentious. Many items on the menu that were not will make a return visit a must."

  • "A grand experiment combining rustic Italian food, including charcuterie (salumi), thin crust pizzas, and a wide variety of craft beers on tap. Loved everything I tried. Our server was terrific. Laid back, but attentive at the same time. It is a large restaurant with tables indoor and out. Inside was rather noisy. Outside was quieter."

  • "The food was very good, if not exceptional. Since we tried only a few items, I can't in good conscience give an excellent; although the Duck and risotto were definitely OUTSTANDING. I'm not usually a fan of duck but this was very tender and not fatty. The noise level is very high. My sweetie and I were in a two seater at the end, near a wall and we still had to speak loudly to be heard. I loved the craft paper on the table, we played hangman and tic-tac-toe between courses. The beer list is extensive, did not try any wines but the list seemed well rounded. The staff was attentive but not hovering. We will return again and again. Well worth the trip."

  • "The two of us had the absolutely wonderful calamari and the very good fried green tomatoes to start. We then shared the Tuesday Duck special. The skin was beautifully crisp. The meat was tender and flavorful. The orzo was creamy. Both the duck and orzo were oversalted to the point that we needed to stop eating them. Our server was a lovely person who seemed to be overly busy or somewhat pre-occupied. The noise level was exuberant but not so loud that we could not hear ourselves speaking."

  • "Seated in the bar area this time and it was quite loud. Food was wonderful as usual, service was OK - could have used another server or two for the room as the place filled up. Not the restaurant's fault, but the family adjacent to us was loud and selfish - our tables were close together and they made no effort to make room for us as we were seated, then continuously bumped us at our table as they moved around. Their kids were screaming throughout the meal. Fortunately they left before we finished and another family took their place with well-behaved kids and a much more considerate manner."

  • "I have been to Birroteca a number of times and have never been disappointed. The Brussels sprouts are outstanding - crispy and fried with bacon bits, even veggie haters can't resist. Though we passed on the dessert, all the dishes were great - the calamari were super tender and we ordered another order of it. Of course the pizza are also good; we particularly like the mushroom pizza. The scene is always vibrant at Birroteca and we always look forward to returning."

  • "My partner and I have usually really enjoy meals here. Within walking distance of our home we like to think of it as a little neighborhood gem but our meal Friday didn't feel worthy of a good review. Our server (that we have had before and loved) was nice but slow and inattentive. Our drinks and food were just OK. The timing between food was too fast at points and way to slow between others. I get the vibe that they think they're a great restaurant but do not have to work on it any more....the inconsistency in the food and service was truly disappointing."

Something for everyone; staff is friendly and helpful. Got to taste the Roast Pig, a Sunday night thing, and it was delicious."

Our only complaint is that while the portion of the two pizzas with topping was good, the crust had not flavor whatsoever. A good pizza is made by its crust.   • "We have been here within the past year and visited again with out of town guests. The restaurant is pretty noisy so conversation is a little difficult. We ordered the spicy chickpeas and found they were WAY too hot to eat, even for those anticipating the spice. This appetizer used to be delightful (and edible) but not now. Pizzas were ok as was pasta dish but every entree came out kind of greasy. Service - just ok, no personality. Great s' mores for dessert!"

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed my Saturday evening with friends at Birroteca. The food is DIVINE: incredible flavors and impressive selection. No one else in my party had been there before, and we all seriously enjoyed our meals. The wine/beer/drink selection is also fabulous, and the server was attentive, despite the busy-ness of the bar. My only regret is that the big tables are all in the bar, which was very loud and made conversation difficult. Still, I'm glad to see such a great restaurant thriving. Can't wait to go again!"

  • "This was my second time dining here. My first visit was soon after they opened and they still had a lot of kinks to work through. My last visit was not much better than the first. The food was just ok, the service was just ok, the noise level is way up there. We were seated in the bar, even though I made a reservation several days ahead of time. The dessert ( their version of s'mores) was probably the worst dessert I've ever had. The marshmallows were not melted but burned and had a very potent chemical taste which must have come from the blow torch. The graham crackers were tasteless. The pizza was ok but the crust was very tough. On the other hand, the Brussel sprouts were amazing."

  • "Our party of 6 got slow service with one main dish forgotten.Our server seemed harassed & commented she had 12 tables. The appetizers were good, those who got risotto or pasta liked their meals. Pizza and other main dishes were mediocre at best.The place was busy and there was a high energy and noise level. The bars to let me rate noise don't seem to be working, it was so loud we could hardly hold a conversation. Clearly the low prices, casual food and neighborhood location are draws.Overall a disappointing experience."
