Birraporetti'sIt was Fathers' Day and Birra'sIt was Fathers' Day and Birra's had a very large number of Brunch reservations. My husband and I were seated near the podium . I overheard and was truly impressed with the way staff and managemeant graciously welcomed and then attempted to accomodate several walk-in family groups which, incidently, included young children.. "Situations" do arise, and the hallmark of a good innkeeper is how he resolves them. Over the years I have consistently been impressed with the way everyone at Birra's treats customers - they always seem really glad we all came to dine.
p.s. The kids were well behaved. The expanded buffett had yummy new items. We all had a wonderful time. Buono appetito!6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMnice time prior to alley theaternice time prior to alley theater show service was a bit slow with a moderate level of patrons also a bit noisy . but we will return6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOur go-to place pre-theaterThe food is always good and reasonably priced. Service is good and we routinely go there before theater events. We're there about once a month.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBottomless mimosas!Great brunch! I am glad that I made a reservation and came at a decent time, right before the crowd swarmed in. The food was excellent with a perfect variety of breakfast and lunch items. My server was kind and friendly and they were not kidding about bottomless mimosas! Everytime I took a sip, my glass would magically be filled again. Definitely planning on coming back again.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDate nightLoved the food but waitress got check wrong and was very slow and disappeared at times. Would go again! Enjoyed it a lot.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMService was friendly, but very slowIt took the server 15 minutes to acknowlege our presence. Once she arrived, she was personable and courteous, but it took another 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive. My drink was an Irish Coffe. It was tepid by the time it arrived to the table, indicating it sat on the bar awaiting pickup for more than a few minutes. Our server was fairly inaccessible, meaning she disappeared for stretches at a time. We had to request assistance from the manager to get our check, so we could make it to an 8:00 performance because our server was nowhere to be found.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waiter, Santiago, providedOur waiter, Santiago, provided super service at just the right pace. My wife & I were on a leisurely 2 hour pace, cocktails, appetizers, entree & a bottle of wine prior to a Thrusday evening Alley Theatre production. We were seated at a table on a window so we enjoyed the bustle of the city while we savored our micro-mini vacation. Excellent food, great Cab ( not usually a Cab fan), and super service. We'll be back.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time patronWe were 20 minutes late and the restaurant kept our Open Table reservation open upon arrival (thank you for that).
On the other hand
The Hostess who seated us forgot our silverware/napkin and by the time we noticed, our food was already at the table.
Other than that great experience and great food. Although the calamari appetizer and the Italian saugage that came with the entrée were both real spicy. Not used to that.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMYummyWe love to eat here before a show. If we are running late and need fast service or if we are early they slow the pace. It's staff aims to please. We live 2 hours away and it is one of our favorite spots. We have have birthday gatherings and more and they always make you feel like family! The pizza is so yummy that we will get it to take home with us although sometimes it doesn't sem to make the trip.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a Good ExperiencrWe typically go to Biroprettis when going to the theater. And have for the last 25 years. It is always very good ... We will return,6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWent before the symphonySo glad we made a reservation! Uite aine was forming and people were waiting for tables as we left. Very attentive and fastseevice got us to the show in plenty of time. Great food, too!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMNight out on the town! The only problem was that we had made reservations and we were told to go on line with the other customers to "sign in".....and the line was out the door into the street. The majority of the people on line had no reservations. So we waited 10 minutes to check in and to say "we have reservations". Just poorly done.
If you go to Birraporetti's........just give them the appetizer selection, and hold off on the entree. If you order both...as you should, with the normal theater crowd, being busy, and to generate more income, they will rush your meal. The above just forces them to slow down.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMawesome we are Italians andawesome we are Italians and we look for taste freshness presentation we gave it an 11 we use to go to the brunch and because of work we stopped going now I am retired so we'll be back

Food was fantastic in the service was good.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMNice meal before theaterWe had reservations at 5 PM but arrived a little before. We were seated quickly and had a very nice leisurely meal before ushering at the Alley Theatre. I had manicotti with Italian sausage and my wife and our good friend had the Pasta Poretti. We call started with Caesar salads. Mt wife and I each had a glass of Chianti Classico and finished with an excellent (as always) cup of cappuccino. . It was a very nice meal.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Opening ActWe frequent Birraporetti's prior to attending concerts and shows in the theater district. Service is good for making the shows on time. Food is not real heavy -- perfect for starting an evening.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSymphony, Opera, Ballet, or TheaterGreat place to dine before going to the theater. The price is very reasonable. The food is good and the bar is wonderful. Walking distance from the garage and to Jones Hall, the Alley and the Wortham Center.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMReliable favoriteThis was our third time coming back for brunch. The food is good, the bottomless belinis are fantastic. The only flaws in this visit were a couple of the other patrons who were obnoxious and rude to the staff as well as the other diners. We will be back, hopefully they won't.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to go before theGreat place to go before the ballet, opera or a show.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to eat beforeGreat place to eat before going to events at Wortham, Jones Hall, or the Alley.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMthe setting was beautiful.the setting was beautiful. The location was awesome. The service was excellent and the food was yummy!!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLong lines, but great foodI really enjoyed the food...very high quality! But they really need to rearrange the set up. The most popular item was the fresh omelette bar, but it was placed at the very end of the long steam table of other food items...which made for a very long line to wait for the grab and go eaters, and made for awkward moments if you tried to 'squeeze in' to get some bacon, or something. And the set up suffered from only being able to be accessed from one side of the food.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat PlaceExcellent staff. Very nice a quiet. Service was top notch. Simply loved it!!!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a really nice Easter Brunch.Had a really nice Easter Brunch. Our waiter Bing was attentive, and service was good.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI had freinds from ChicagoI had freinds from Chicago who were very impressed. This is important since they talk about how wonderful Chicago is.
Service was excellent and our waiter was extremely helpful and attentive. The food was as good as the service.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an early dinner beforeWe had an early dinner before the theatre. Specialty drinks were good. Food was very good and enjoyed by all. The wait staff was excellent. Rachel, our waitress was great!
The only complaint I would have would be that it is unusual to pay for bread and dinner salad. Seems like charging another dollar or two for entrees would more than cover bread and small dinner salad.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable Experience! My wife and I enjoyed the "Jazz Brunch" on Sunday. The food was very good with a large assortment from pizza to "order to make omlets" to roast beef. The jazz music was great, not to loud but where you could comfortably hear it. The service was very good. Just a nice Brunch all the way around. We will go again soon!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMServer, Jose, was outstanding...secServer, Jose, was outstanding...second time for Brunch and changes in serving lines seemed to make it a little more crowded..3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything is VERY GOOD!!Everything is VERY GOOD!! Love the spinach pasta!!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMService was outstanding (IService was outstanding (I am sorry I can't remember our waitress' name) she made several recommendations. Food was well prepared.
The restaurant was overall very open which made the noise level a little louder than what I was hoping for. Our table was located adjacent to the waiting area which made for a bit of an uncomfortable meal with patrons watching us eat.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were excellentFood and service were excellent as always. We enjoy dinner at Birraporetti's before a show anywhere in the theater district.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI was very pleased with everything.I was very pleased with everything. The food was excellent and the price was very reasonable.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only problem we had wasThe only problem we had was that the restaurant did not have our reservation. Luckily, there was a table for us. I even showed them my confirmation email.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGood buffet brunchFour of us visited for brunch on St. Patrick's day. Our waitress was attentive and not stingy with the mimosas, colored green for the day. Overall the food was great. The lasagna, chicken alfredo, grilled fish, grilled tenderloin, corned beef and cabbage were all very good. The only complaint we had was, although the carving station roast beef was flavorful, it was cold. Everything else that we tried was good and the items that we had no room for looked good. Most of us had no room left because of the desserts. The tiramasu, cheesecake, and fresh strawberries were all very good. The other items looked good as well.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe wanted a nice quiet placeWe wanted a nice quiet place for lunch after attending several outdoor events downtown. This was the right choice. The salads were good,
and the Chicken Piccata was excellent. And we all thought the Key Lime pie was a great finishing touch. Our waiter was very helpful and
attentive. Nice experience.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
