Birk'sBirthday partyWe had a Birthday party for my older brother who is in a wheelchair and five others. They took good care of us while we where there. A good time was had by all.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience for a team eventBirk's was a great dinner event for my team and we enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service very much.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial Night w/FamilyWe had family from out of town and need a place centrally located (near a Freeway) and decided on Birk's. What a great choice! Our food was delicious, Prime Rib, Filet Mignon w/Blue cheese, the Lamb, all high quality! All the salads fresh, the one salad called "the Gem" is worth going back alone. We had a variety of desserts and one dessert that everyone went crazy for was the coconut sorbet (made in house). We asked because we thought we could find it at a grocery store. It was a wedding anniversary for our cousin and her husband and the overall experience was very special because of the food and the service (try and get Jamie as your waiter). We will come back!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and serviceBirk's has excellent food and service. The prime rib and lobster were both tasty, although the sweet sauce on the pork chop didn't go well. The guests we were dining with this time didn't feel it was worth the cost, but we felt it was typical pricing for the food and area. We'll go back without them.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMBirk's doesn't disappointThe salad was a play on the traditional wedge, however the lettuce itself was a healthy lettuce and not the nutrition void iceberg.
Entrees were all tempting, including the special rack of venison. I chose the house specialty Pasta Paella. While I needed to add a little heat with seem fresh red pepper flakes, the dish was wonderful. The homemade thick noodles served as the "rice" for this paella dish. The mix of seafood was vast, I'll try to capture it all: lobster, shrimp, mussels, calamari, salmon, bay scallops and white fish (not sure, maybe cod). The addition of whole (seeded) green olives and capers gave the dish a saltiness. At $29, this has to be the best value entree in Santa Clara, the chef should be very proud.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBe ready to spendVery good food. The prime rib had the flavor of ham for some odd reason. Our kalamari appetizer was great. Our friends brought a bottle of wine which the waiter offered to open and pour FYI if you don't want to pay a "corkage fee" then open it yourself and ask for glasses, it'll save you $20.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMspecial evening for twoOne of our fave spots to go when we are sans child, Birks never disappoints. The food is perfectly prepared, the wait staff attentive, but not too much so, and the atmosphere is urban chic.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways consistent food. Don'tAlways consistent food. Don't order the onion rings. All else was good.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a party of 12 for lunch. We had a party of 12 for lunch. Service and food was great. We'll definitely be back.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBirk's - A great place for steaksThe food was excellent and the service understated, but attentive. Best of all, it was quiet, with no noisy kids. A place where grown-ups can have a great meal and enjoy time with each other. Prices were higher than average, but not unreasonable, and the whole experience was well worth it. We will be back again.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for business lunchThe food was good and service efficient. I appreciate when both are on point. They pace the meal and get you in and out in an hour. You don't feel rushed and you are not looking for the bill or more anything,
Had the scallops , would order again. Very tasty.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful bone-in prime ribWonderful bone-in prime rib and beautiful restaurant!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this placefood is delicious, awesome people-watching and it is just a fun place to be.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBirk's: A Bay Area MainstayI have hosted business lunches at Birk's for many years, and it is one of the very few places where I can honestly say I've never had a sub-par meal there. Quite the contrary, every meal there has been nothing short of excellent. Their hardwood grilled steaks are always seared and cooked to perfection -- savory and juicy. The bone-in rib chop steak is a serious must-try. Their seafood is very fresh and amazingly good. The seafood paella is a great go-to dish, and I had a mahi-mahi special at my last visit that was very good. Their salads and pasta dishes are also not to be looked over -- my clients often rave about these dishes while I usually tend to have one of my "usual" dishes there. Birk's is a Bay Area mainstay of lunch dining.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat steak in San JoseI have been going to Birk's for years, pretty much whenever I am in the San Jose area. It is pricy but good quality food. Known for their steaks but they have a lot of variety. Great wine list. Only complaint is the noise level but that is just because it is always full which is a testament to how good it is.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMplace to be seenAlways busy for lunch because of their great service and good selection of well prepared food, including something for vegetarians and those who cannot eat gluton.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMcomminicationLove everything about Birk's but the noise level, very hard to hear and have a detailed conversation without feeling the need to yell.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExactly What We HopedI had never been to Birk's and it was exactly what we were hoping for. When we arrived it was before the lunch rush and fairly quiet, but by the time we left it was hopping. The server was very friendly and attentive. The food was great, we had an array, appitizers, soup, salad, sandwich and a steak, plus dessert. All were great! We will definitely go back.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Great at Birk'sMy husband and I met colleagues this past week for dinner at Birk's. We were seated immediately when we arrived. Had a reservation, but a lot of places still make you wait for seating -- not the case with Birk's. Great ambience, as well. We eat at Birk's quite often, but usually sit in the bar area. The bar staff is exceptional -- often recommending great appetizers, desserts, etc.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good and portionFood was very good and portion sizes were generous. Staff was very accommodating.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic Expense account joint!Expense account central in the valley during the week, great steaks.
This is a classic get a deal done sort of place, I have been coming here on and off for many many years. The quality remains as well as the quite good wine list. Birk's is a place with very good food and a mostly attentive staff, there are times that we get service errors. I will of course come back again.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can always count on Birk's!I can always count on Birk's to be great! They are consistent, friendly and the food is always so good!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWas a GREAT expirienceHi,

Eyal4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMCorporate steakhouseVery good steakhouse with good fish options, nice starters, fresh salads. Noisy place acoustically and not easy to have quiet conversations, but still fun and lively.
Corporate atmosphere in Silicon Valley in hotel & convention area and always busy .4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMDidnt care for the cooscoosDidnt care for the cooscoos as it was suppose to be spicey and was very bland, other than that the food was great. The salmon was cooked perfectly.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMHits and Misses!I miss Steve. He was the one to set the tone at Birk's. The management now has hits and misses. Still love the Steak Bits but the Carpaccio was not impressive at all. Should be in the Italian style. Very thin slices, w/ capers and a drizzle of excellent olive oil. Don't need the brioche or mustard. I guess its for people who don't know any better. Our waiter was excellent! I had an obnoxious dinner companion and the waiter was able to handle him. Thanks for that. The cheese plate was tolerable but the person who created it needs to go back to the culinary school or maybe enroll in a cheese class. The Lavoush was nice but a miss. Why is the bread hot? Is it stale or reused from another table?4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBirks is alwasys consistent!Birks is alwasys consistent! Great food plus they make a very delicious lemon drop.
I like the wine list as well. For lunch, there is a wide variety of salads. All very good and large portions.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous as always. Even whenFabulous as always. I would only recommend dimmer lighting for the evening meal to improve ambiance. It was delicious and we'll definitely be back soon.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe parmesan crusted halibutThe parmesan crusted halibut was extraordinary. The Steaks were excellent. We had good service but it was a bit noisier than we would have liked.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to take a clientGreat place to take a client or conduct work related discussions. Cooked perfectly every time, it is $$$$ quality at $$$ prices. Try the large filet, take some home. Killer Rib eye, regular one or the bone in one is to die for.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a Treat Dining at Birk'sLove the food here, and the service is unsurpassed. Wish there were more vegan options. Please and thank you.2/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and good timesWent here for valentines day dinner at the night was great. Food was great, service was friendly, and portions were big. Good bang for your buck. Enjoyed the service all around and wasn't too crowded. Not the most romantic of places but very low-key and great place to go. Would definitely go back.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMTry Friday evenings if you.I usually come to Birks for lunch during the mid-week. Decided to go on a Friday evening with my wife since the food is usually pretty good and consistent. I had a hunch it might not be so crowed on Friday evening and I was right. Resturant was half full and therefore not too lowd. Service was good and the food was the usual tasty faire.1/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
