Was in Fort Worth for a business trip with 3 colleagues; went there for dinner and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening --seated in outdoor dining area. Service and food both excellent. Something for everyone from vegetarian to steak lover and all well executed. Would definitely return if in the area. Liked the tapas like concept but with larger portions for sharing. Sweet pea guacamole, collard greens, beautifully grilled ribeye, and other delights. No room for dessert! Good selection of wines!

The brunch menu is not as extensive as dinner, thus is more common. The omelet we had was poorly made ,one slice of cheese(not fully melted) in side. The dinners we have had there have always been good. The food items are served as ready,so be prepared for a random serving. Sharing items works well here

Every course was perfectly paired with a wine, Kraft beer, or cocktail. Ryan's palette is superb and he made the night an amazing experience. You must try the Pig-n-Fig and let him pair the dish with the right cocktail. If you like old fashions, ask about their black cherry and chocolate bitter old fashion. Holy cow! Seriously, every bite from the cheese/meat plate to the dessert was divine! I'm super hard to please, normally. Yet, Bird Cage left me speechless and in awe! Well done!

The evening was wonderful, meal great! There was a wedding party taking pictures in the Sundance Square area, made the night seem magical. Service could have been better, our server was very friendly; however she forgot to let us about the specials. We learned about it after we had ordered & asked what the people at another table had ordered. Also, I ordered the walnut cake, but asked the server to leave off the caramel & when I received it it had caramel drizzled over it. I didn't send it back, it was delicious, but the server should have caught the mistake. This was not my husband's & my first time to dine there, for these reasons cannot not give "OUTSTANDING" rating. We will be back!

The Bird Café, in a historic building in downtown Fort Worth is filled with bird prints, made by twin artists from Fort Worth who copied James Audubon’s style. The service was exceptional with our waitress guiding us through the many small plate selections. Our favorites were “moth balls”, ricotta filled balls, rolled in pasta dough and served with a sauce consisting of fried or dried sage. The Texas quail was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the “pig and fig” were flavorful and satisfying. Extensive wine list with plenty of by the glass options. After dinner, we had a drink on their roof top terrace. A very nice evening, a great date night. Go to the Bird–you know the old 60’s song – before everyone else finds out the Bird is the Word.

Made my second visit to The Bird on Friday night. The food was very enjoyable, but the service was not. I believe that was the result of our being seated upstairs. Not sure how the food/beverages get from the kitchen/bar to the upstairs area, but all were delayed. I will NOT accept upstairs seating again, and will request downstairs when making my future reservations (which I strongly recommend to avoid long delays on weekend visits).

We got there on time and the hostess didn't acknowledge us she later apologized. A nice gentlemen sat us and said our waitress will be right with us. Ten minutes later he passed by and ask if we have been help, we replay no and he asked us our drink order and we also let him know we are ready to order as well. The food was great our waitress involvement was very poor.

Bird Cafe has become "the" destination for diners before going to Bass Hall. It's only 1 block away & valet parking makes it very convenient. Food is different so check out the menu first. I recommend the traditional Belgian mussels but frittes are a side order you can skip because they're just not crispy & more suitable as french fries for the burger or steak. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the menu & wine list. Check out the wines by the glass for great finds!

This was our first time at the Bird. Our table was immediately available per our open table reservation. Our drinks came promptly, and our waiter was very helpful explaining the menu and the shared plates. The food was very good, although some of the items are likely not for everyone. Our waiter, Wade did a good job of pacing and timing. We had the small plate oysters with a side of asparagus, and the steak for one.

Bird Cafe is conveniently located on Sundance Square, 1/2 block from Bass Hall. We ate outside on the covered patio before going to the FWSO at Bass Hall. A great people-watching patio. The small plates just hit the spot. We could share, try different plates and most important not overeat. The Catalan Mussels were very tender and flavorful. We returned after the concert to enjoy a shared blueberry dessert and coffees. Everything was perfect. We're looking forward to trying different plates next time.

I was pleasantly surprised by the unique spins on fairly common ingredients. For example, who knew that mussels and chorizo could be great complements? I suggest 2-3 dishes per twosome, unless you want to roll out of there very full. And do try the crisped tofu and the beet salad.

    Dined on 8/31/2014
We went there as a group of 4 on Sunday for brunch. The mimosas were amazing... they have a hibiscus liqueur in them that makes them extra special. I got the bacon waffles and while they were good, they weren't as mind - blowing as I'd expected and a little too sweet, but my husband got the hash and my friend the benedict and those were both delicious. The service was great; my only complaint is he slacked on filling up waters which always kind of annoys me a little. But the look of the place is unique, the presentation was perfect and all of the staff was very nice!

Bird Cafe is exceptional. They have taken the time to make the entire dining experience a treat. The menu has choices to satisfy any mood. I found the hummus and the sirloin sticks to be my favorites. If you aren't sure or just can't make a choice, the waitstaff provide excellent recommendations I suggest you arrive early and spend time in the bar. This is as much a part of the experience as the food. In addition to the excellent wines and beers they offer they have offer signature cocktails that you find elsewhere.

We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. I had been in for lunch previously but neither of us had been there for dinner. They have several share plates and tapas style options that encourage tasting of several dishes. We had three amazing plates ( ahi tuna, flank steak and a decadent maple bacon on funnel cake that was unbelievable!). It was a warm night but we sat outside under the fans and enjoyed the evening. The cold glass of Riesling was a perfect way to cap off a fun, fast and super delicious meal. Just a lovely experience.

For a restaurant charging above average prices, the food was not up to expectations. We had five for lunch and most ordered the cod and chips. The waiter tried to explain how they "double-dipped" the batter, but the end result was still spongy and not crispy at all as you would expect. They did give comp a few of the meals and apologized, but the impression of the food was sub-standard. The place is very nice and provides an excellent place for lunch, but they better get the food right or it may not last long at these prices.

I really did not care for the food at this restaurant. They were creative dishes but were overall lacking. The bacon lollipops were mosty fat. The Tandoori lamp had a very unappealling appearance and awful texture. The mozzarella, tomatoe with pesto was very good and the moth balls were so, so. Beer and wine choices were very good. We followed the advice of our waitress and ordered 4 items. The salad was good and probably could have been split 3 ways. The Bacon lollipops were great.
