The food and presentation of the many tastes the kitchen sends out is more than dining out - it is a dining experience. And all the tastes are delicious. There is really no way that words can do justice to dining at Binkley's - you must experience it.
The menu offers the option of 4, 5 or 6 course tasting dinners. In addition to these courses, each diner receives about a dozen or more additional tastes between the selected courses. All courses and tastes are small such that even less hardy eaters such as myself can finish them all. And they are all good! The service was above and beyond even to the point of when my boyfriend left the table and food was ready, the servers turned around so the presentation could be at the point when he was seated. Nothing is too much or too big, even for that "hungry man". The plates are simply small "bursts" of delicious flavors, complemented by a huge selection of fine wine. Because the tastes are just that, the diner has the opportunity to simply have a sampling of so many exotic and extraordinary items...Binkley's is absolutely the best restaurant in Arizona, by far. The food and presentation never fail to impress. This was our 4th or 5th time at the restaurant and for the first time service was not great. The bread person forgot to give bread to one of our party (there were 6 of us). One of the couples had ordered a bottle of wine and had to ask for more of it to be poured during our entree. Another person had asked for a cup of coffee at the beginning of the meal and had to repeat his request because our server had forgotten. Another person had requested another glass of wine and it took so long to bring it, she told another staff member to forget it. It seemed the staff was off their game. After 9 amuse bouches, four wonderful courses and the stupendous service by Rebecca, our server, we left contented. We have been told that we should try Binkley's for some time. It was a great experiance and I would recomend it to anyone. We both did the 6 course with wine pairing and I ran out of steam around the 3rd or 4th course. It is more like 12 - 20 courses with all the dishes that they bring out in between the picked dishes. You have to go very hungry for that to really enjoy fully. The outside is not flashy and looks like a strip mall dinner but inside it has a very warm romantic feal and very nice ambiance. The waiting staff where great and brought food out quickly and cleared dishes and set for the next course with great timing. We usually stay in Scottsdale,about a half hour from Cave Crewek. Binkley's is worth the drive. We always like the selections on the tasting menu, but the highlight of the evening are the small bites that come out throughout the dinner. Many places now have an amuse bouche at the beginning. Binkley's has bites all the time and they are great. Service is attentive but not intrusive.
