  • "Looking for a brunch spot with a view, not too noisy for seniors, great food, great service? bin on the lake fits the bill. Even with some children at nearby tables it was quiet. Staff was very attentive to fill drinks and food came promptly. Only drawback is the brunch is limited to Easter and Mother's Day; otherwise, bin on the lake is open evenings."

  • "Our server was very kind and professional. Offered a lot of great recommendations. We loved every single entree that came out. Unfortunately, The Lamb shank was served lukewarm which was unfortunate since the flavors tasted so good. All in all great food and service. Thanks"

  • "The food was phenomenal, after the 1 hour wait. Kobe steak is the best dish there."

  • "Awesome views, great service, but the chef was clearly told by management to make these dishes, and not create them. For some reason, one appetizer was a carrot purée that tastes like 7 bottles of Gerber baby food. The restaurant week choices were next to the non-restaurant week choices which looked amazing. It left my date and I under the belief that this entire restaurant week was a joke to Bin. "

  • "We had a delightful early dinner. the service was outstanding. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable regarding the menu. The food was everything and more than we imagined. So carefully prepared. The appetizers are just out of this world. The steelhead fish I had was just perfect. I had never had steelhead before. My friend had the porkchop which was beautifully prepared and the sauces were fantastic. Then we still had room for desserts. Could not finish all of it, the chocolate dessert was just out of this world. Yes, can't wait to go back!!"

  • "My husband and I went to celebrate our third anniversary. We were treated to half glasses of sparkling wine to begin our meal- a wonderful surprise! Our server, Sarah, was friendly, knowledgable, and very helpful! The grilled bread salad and the pork chop were both amazing! A beautiful view. Would definitely return :-)"

  • "The pork chop was dry but pork is hard to cook. The steelhead was perfectly cooked. The mousse cake must have had gelatin in it and wasn't that good.. The service was friendly and attentive, but not overly so. The views were gorgeous."

  • "My coworkers and I frequently take visitors from out of town to this restaurant. It's about $70 per person. Nice view."

  • "We had the "chef's tasting menu" - 5 courses plus an "amuse-bouche" (they didn't use that term; seems like nowadays restaurants favor the term "a gift from the chef"). I love doing that because the chef does all the thinking for you; you just sit back and enjoy. In this case, we ordered cocktails first and I chose one from the menu. When our server asked how I liked it I admitted it was too sweet - so she asked what I'd like and had the bartender make my gin/st germaine/lemon cocktail we make at home. Super nice! On to the meal - each course was delicious. well-thought out, seasonal, and the wine pairings were right on. It was just such a great meal, and the service was really good too. We were too full and took most of dessert home."

  • "We asked for a window table because it was our anniversary. Everyone from the hostess to the busgirl wished us a happy anniversary. They even gave us a couple of complimentary glasses of sparkling rose. The server was delightful and the food was great! The food was a little slow coming out, but worth the wait. Definitely worth returning."

  • "We for anniversary dinner. Service was not good. Had to ask for a server 3 times before he came to table. Others seated after us - a different server - were getting salads before we even had chance to order. Glass of wine arrived when we had finished half of our meal."

  • "If you're a wine lover, but you don't wan to be locked into a full bottle, bin on the lake is the place. Bin on the lake uses a state of the art wine system that allows it to offer dozens of wines by the glass, including higher-end wines traditionally not offered by the glass. While a great place anytime of the year, summer is the the ideal time to visit this gem to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the summer sun set over Lake Washington."

  • "We enjoyed this place and will be back. Our server was very knowledgeable and very sweet. She sent us home with a treat since we were too full for desert. Now that's what i call service!"

  • "Great location... We could see the sunset from our table. However, there were several hiccups. First of all, the food overall was not great for the price in comparing with other restaurants that have the same price range. We ordered a pizza on the kid's menu and asked if that would be enough for the 2 kids, 1 is 2 yrs old, 1 is 5. The server said Yes. She brought an adult pizza with bell pepper in it and the kids couldn't eat. We kept wondering how in the world the kid's pizza would have bell pepper in it until we saw the bill that charged the adult pizza. They also went ahead and added black pepper in the spaghetti and Alaska halibut without asking, so my kids had a terrible dinner. They only had fun sitting in a loud place for a change."

  • "Beautiful location, excellent service and in general very good food with some glaring exceptions. On the plus side: steak tartare, tomato braised brisket, and seared foie gras, all excellently prepared. On the minus side: something they called "Spanish Style Tots..." a dish that would have better been left to the imagination as the execution was lacking, to say the least. Also, leave room for dessert! Highlight of the night for us was a Lemon Chevre Cheesake that was an astonishing and outstanding mix of flavours"

  • "Enjoy beautiful views of Lake Washington while dining on creative, Northwest food at this distinguished restaurant. We started with a delicious beet salad with pesto dressing, arugula, goat cheese - yum. My entree was duck perfectly cooked to order (pink/ rare) with a balsamic vinegar sauce, light yet rich, and butternut squash cubes. My dining companion opted for the braised brisket with creamed spinach. For dessert we enjoyed lemon cheese cake and the honey, vin santo ice cream. I also want to mention the excellent, friendly, helpful service by staff and a manager. We had a beautiful booth in a quieter area right near the window, as requested. The wines suggested were delicious"

  • "My wife and I have celebrated her birthday several times over the years by staying at the Woodmark Hotel (it has always been great). and the Bin is next door. The menu is not overwhelming and the dishes offered appeared to be quite creative. We pretty much made a meal out of the smaller plates. The beef tartare--super. The special braised beef brisket chunks--also great. The foie gras (good but a pretty small portion) and I had the duck--excellent. The wine list is good and they offer 6 oz. pours for a number of wines. We found an excellent Cote du Rhone that we know from France and it was about the lowest price on the wine list. If you know your wines, you can find some good values by the glass. We left very happy."

  • "My fiancé and I went to bin on the lake for dinner the night we got engaged. The service was very friendly and nice, even offering us complimentary champagne and lots of congratulations on our engagement. The food was exquisite, fresh, and even good to look at. The view over the lake and low-light ambiance were probably the best parts of the whole. Certainly recommended for those looking to splurge on a romantic evening."

  • "Outstanding food - the scallops were perfection on a plate and the mushroom risotto was icredibly flavorful. Unfortunately, the service did not rise to the level of the food. Floor was understaffed, so service was mediocre. There was one server covering far too many tables. He was personable, upbeat, and moving quickly - perhaps a bit too quickly - between tables. I would have expected superior service at this price point."

  • "My first time at this restaurant, I went with a girl friend for a nice dinner out. We split the salad of baby greens - excellent touch on the amount of dressing to salad. I had the foie gras, she the chicken breast. The chicken was tender and flavorful. We finished off with coffee and Olive cake AND the goat cheese cheesecake. :) Food was excellent EXCEPT that almost all her gnocchi and root vegetables (she had the chicken breast) were burnt. Not just lightly burnt, the side touching the pan was absolutely black and inedible. That should never have left the kitchen. The hostess did apologize. One star removed from all categories for the burnt food. That should never have happened in a fine restaurant."

  • "For a romantic evening with a stunning view, the restaurant works perfectly. Limited menu with a different presentation (you may want to look at the online menu before dining). There were several interesting sounding appetizers and starts, so we ordered two appetizers and soup and salad--all to share. After eating those things, we decided to pass on the entree and order dessert (the lemon chevre cheesecake), which was the best part of the meal, I think. It may have been our particular choices, but all the things we ordered were very rich. The food was good, but not outstanding."

  • "Great happy hour with 1/2 off wine even the bottles. We were never rushed even with a 5pm reservation. We finally sat for dinner around 5:30pm. The menu is small with some "fancy" choices. The Spanish tots were great. The Kobe sirloin was tender & delicious! The potato puree and garlic confit was also fabulous! The only down side was the chocolate martini which has a custard flavor and curdled before you could finish drinking it. Not my idea of a great chocolate martini but it was still not bad. The Groupon made it even better. I would definitely come back here even without a Groupon."

  • "Expected more and was not overly impressed. We shared three entrees among our group and only one of the three was above average. One of the dishes came out undercooked and when I brought it to our server's attention, she also recognized the same and moved quickly and pleasantly to resolve the issue. Great setting."

  • "This was our first time at Bin on the Lake and it was a very positive experience. Having the coupon made the dinner a little more affordable. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere with a great view which we could not see at night. We had one of many window tables which would have been very intimate had we not had a large group of people placed right behind us. The menu was interestingly laid out and the two salads, risotto and pork chop were all excellent, possibly the largest, most flavorful and succulent pork chop I ever tasted. The one drawback was that the cheapest red wine, a merlot, was way overpriced though uniquely flavored and enjoyable."

  • "The experience was wonderful. Would return again. I thought the wine list was overly expensive especially for individual glasses."

  • "Quick seating, with view of Lake Washington. Our server was very attentive and offered suggestions. Food was excellent (steamed clams were great). Nice wine list at reasonable prices and prices for everyone's budget)."

  • "....braised beef over creamed spinach. The pasta with Dungeness crab could have had more flavor and it was a very small portion. The ambience is very quiet and serene with a nice waitress that almost whispered....until the bartender tossed a bottle into the bin with a CRASH!!! Seriously? Then again. I jumped out of my skin. She needs to save her best tosses for the outside garbage bins. Not a classy move in an otherwise classy restaurant."

  • "This was our second visit to bin on the Lake; first being New Year's Eve and the food, service and atmosphere were just as wonderful as they were for the holiday. Some might say the selections are limited, but they give you a little of everything to choose from. Pay attention to the "study" that they are featuring as they are delicious. Bin will remain at the top of our list for places to return to. Great food, reasonable prices and attentive wait staff."

  • "I loved our view of the lake. It would be nice to return during the day. I like my steak well done and the waitress assured me it was going to be perfect and I still had to return it. Our experience for Valentines Day was overall good and would return to try their full menu( it was a fixed menu for the special day)."

  • "We enjoyed our first experience at Bin on the Lake. We took some friends to try a new place for Valentines and were pleasantly surprised! The view was beautiful ... the Holiday Menu choices were great and very tastey ... special drinks on the menu for the holiday were yummy ... and our service was perfect! Not overbearing .... just enough. We finished off our time with a fantastic tasters dessert that was fabulous! Our night was wonderful and we look forward to returning!"

  • "We've been to Bin on the Lake several times and we've all ways liked it. This was a special occation with a special menu. I took a special wine from my cellar. It was a good dinning experience not a great one. My steak was over cooked and the service was slightly inattentive. I know they can do better and we'll be back."

  • "Limited menu selection and they actually ran out of one entree the night we went, making it even more limited. My wife was happy with her salad and risotto. I had the arugula salad and the clams both of which were unremarkable. We ordered wine and were surprised when we got the bill- double what we expected. Apparently they serve 3oz and 6 oz glasses of wine. We were never asked which size we wanted, were served and charged for the 6oz. It's a smarmy way to price and serve your wine. In addition, we were seated near a couple who seemed to be both a couple and business partners who spent their evening swearing at each other. With so many great restaurants in Kirkland, we don't see the need to go back."
    Dined on 2/13/2014
  • "Service was pleasantly attentive, though we had to ask to have a napkin replaced that had apparently come out of the dryer damp. Food was not quite as good as we remembered it (under the former chef, it turns out). My duck breast was very nice but my companion found her pork chop oddly flavored. It was a decent meal, but we felt that for the price we could do a little better, elsewhere. We'd also forgotten just how noisy this place can be. We were there at 6:30 on a Tuesday. The place was not really full, but I could barely talk to my dinner companion, the sound level was so high...and other diners seemed to just be speaking normally."
