  • "Such a welcome difference from the numerous "steak and shrimp" places all over Waikiki. Beautiful, fresh, clean food inspired by an Australian vibe. Great service (Alexis is great) and a killer menu - we were only sad we found this place on our last night before flying home to Sydney and couldn't return. Will definitely be checking out Bills Sydney!"

  • "We went here two nights in a row on our Waikiki visit, first as adults date night, second time with two kids in tow. Both times we were blown away by the quality of the food and the service, particularly from the GM who went above and beyond to take care of us. Unlike most of the restaurants in Waikiki (many of which are big chains), they are not catering to the big food loving tourist crowd. Interesting, eclectic but entirely approachable menu that would rival any in San Francisco, where we live. We even went back for take out from the casual cafe downstairs to bring on the flight home. Love!"

  • "Food was amazing, everything was beautifully fresh and full of flavour. We loved the ambience & design of the restaurant too. The service was fantastic, couldn't fault it. Highly recommend"

  • "Having grown up with bills I was excited about the corn fritters. I was bitterly disappointed. Nowhere near as good as sydney. Guess this is what happens when u create a chain and get money hungry. Service was very friendly though and ambience great. Coffee was fantastic."

  • "We went here for my birthday with my family and a few of our friends for dinner. Cutting to the chase, the waiter was neglectful, our waters were empty for half an hour, our food took forever and no one ever checked on us after our entrees finally came. We ordered one drink because no one ever came back to ask us if we wanted another. The others ordered a pizza, the chicken schnitzel, the ribs and the salmon salad and no one liked their food. So I guess I got lucky cause I ordered the linguine, and cream corn which was actually pretty good. Everyone else had an expensive, bad tasting, drawn out meal with poor service. We won't be going back."

  • "We were pretty excited about our meal at Bills Sydney, we saved it for our last meal in Hawaii. Upon arrival down stairs we met with the lady at the front who said we had to wait for a table (after making and confirming a reservation). We waited approx 10 minutes. We ordered our mains which were delicious and fresh, however it took 15 minutes for our plates to be cleared, another 10 for the dessert menu to arrive, another 10 to order (by which time we asked for the quickest dessert), and then half an our for the dessert to arrive. No one informed us of how it was going, when ordering dessert the waiter said it would be a few minutes. He gave us hot plates for a cold dessert. He gave us attitude when following up on our orders."

  • "Even if I reserved on 15Aug, my family went to Bill's Waikiki on 14Aug,2014 for lunch. Because we don't wait for the table at all. Every food were very nice, but as same as other waikiki restrauant, it was very high price, I mean expensive. The cost paformance is not good. But food are nice, I recomend to go to Cafe, better price than restrauant."

  • "We had breakfast here and was good. However, we did not care for dinner! The food was not as we have expected. We will never go for dinner, NEVER. My husband had pappardelle with meat sauce just okay. I had orrechiette with ricotta and tomatoes, disappointing, our guests had ribs which was horrible. It looked like it was boiled with hardly any taste, very bad. Our waiter suggested fish curry which was just average. I would not suggest you go for dinner."

  • "Excellent food, nice ambience and decor, and good value for Waikiki; friendly wait staff, although a bit distracted at tithes; definitely plan to return."

  • "The cocktails were very average - without flavour and they looked stingy. The presentation of the dishes was pretty good but the food was poor. The pasta was dry and the curry over-salted. The chicken schnitzel was passable. Also the decor upstairs was akin to dining in a barn. Having said that, the service was good and the prices were reasonable."

  • "Loved this place, stumbled upon it while out for a walk in Waikiki, it's not on the main drag but so glad we found it, food here is fantastic & I had one of the best cictails u had while in Hawaii, a must if you visit Waikiki the tasting plates are a must!"

  • "Really enjoyed it. We had a early dinner and the place was really quiet so a bit of a hidden oasis. The decor is awesome."

  • "Food was tasty and well prepared with an interesting menu. It's what I'd expect to get in Sydney from a mid to high range restaurant. Service was good but as the restaurant is new (~4 months old in July '14) they still have a few teething problems but I wouldn't hold this against the overall experience. Will visit again."

  • "Great service and the food was delish! We dined upstairs and had the pork belly watermelon salad, followed by the fish curry and the ragu pappardelle, then shared the huge brownie & hot fudge sundae - all super fresh, lovingly prepared and super tasty! The best freshest produce - a real rarity in Waikiki!"

  • "The waiter seemed too busy to care about our table even though there seemed to only be four other parties there. They were out of the chocolate frappe, the edamame hummus starter, and the banana fritters. We were there at 1 so I don't think we were too terribly late. The waiter's reasoning for being out of the frappes was because they were out of chocolate sauce, which seems like it'd be pretty hard to run out of for a restaurant.. In regards to service, the waiter did not seem to care much about serving or our table. The food did not seem at all Australian to me outside of the pavlova, and it seemed overpriced for what it was. The ambience was nice, but was very hot despite the fans. Perhaps eating here for breakfast or dinner is better."

  • "The food is very fresh and tasty... You can tell they use premium ingredients."

  • "Off course the pancake was also excellent just as rumored. This restaurant has good and relaxed atmosphere. Undesirable, Japanese tourists will make a long line for breakfast shortly...."

  • "Went to Bill's Sydney early in the morning for a nice breakfast with family. The first order came out 10 minutes before any other, and it took another 40 minutes for two additional orders to come. When I spoke to the wait staff, they responded by saying that they had "no idea" what was happening in the kitchen. 5 minutes later, the manager showed up with two of the same dishes that were already received, reaffirming the incompetence. It took an additional 15 minutes after that to get the rest of the food out, and there was no consideration given by the management for the extraordinarily poor service and inconvenience. Save yourself from this experience. Do NOT eat at Bill's Sydney in Waikiki."

  • "What a let down if Bill Granger really has anything to so with this place I would get my name off the door. Booked on opentable 4 weeks ahead was seated at the worst table in the place the waiter threw me a coaster then a rude loud table of 14 was seated next to us in the already squashed space . The waiter looked embarrassed and didn't even flinch when he asked if we wanted dessert and we just said we are out of here . Just got coffee this morning from the cafe and that took so long it was joke . Bill if this is really you I would be taking my name and running for the hills"

  • "Very very pleased with our experience at this restaurant. Firstly we dined upstairs for dinner, then came back the next day to try the cafe below. Upstairs the service was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. There was one small wait on a particular meal but we were fine with that considering how well the staff handled it. The meals were all very reasonably priced, and generous portions too. The flavours were wonderful too. Downstairs, the cafe had spot on coffee like we are used to back home- very hard to find in Hawaii! Lovely light fluffy pancakes and the service once again was prompt and very friendly. Would definitely go back."

  • "We went for an early dinner prior to getting a flight. The restaurant was almost empty. Ordered 2 main dishes. It took 45 minutes for them to arrive (and only did so once we told the waitress we had a flight to catch). When they arrived the dishes were cold. The Red Snapper filet was pretty tasteless. It was perched on top of a big lump of glue that was supposed to be mashed potato. Not pleasant. On the positive side both main were removed from the bill. I think it's about time Bill got on a plane to Honolulu and sorted this mess out. We weren't the only unhappy punters in that evening and I'm sure there wil be others who will decide not to return."

  • "need some trained wait staff, had to trade meals with daughter despite allergy alerts. staff had no idea of meals for dinner and breakfast a couple of days earlier although great food was poorly attended. Got my own water and cutlery and again no idea of menu inb detail"

  • "My wife and I stumbled upon this place for breakfast (Down stairs breakfast bar). The breakfast food and coffee were good and I liked the cool, casual atmosphere. Even though there was no one scheduled to direct new customers on "how to order" or "where to Sit" (Very Chaoitic and un proffessional) We decided to come back for dinner and try the "up stairs". Mistake. Short Story: We waited an HOUR AND A HALF for mediocre food in a half empty restaurant. The manager refused to even comp our drinks. They are clearly in over their heads."

  • "For a unique experience atmosphere try Bills. The food was spectacular and everything that was recommended to us was a hot. We pizza that a little kick and the curry fish which was full of flavor. The poke salad was wonderful as well. Even though there was no view the amazing atmosphere truly felt like you were in a warm and welcoming place with high ceilings and fun colors. I highly reccomend for those not looking for crowds and a unigue experience!"

  • "Very excited about going to a Bill Granger restaurant. The decor was great and the wait service brilliant but unfortunately the kitchen let us down. The shrimp entree was 5 under cooked prawns on a bed of lettuce with a bland sauce OMG reminiscent of a 1970's prawn cocktail! Couldn't have my preferred meal of fish as the kitchen had burnt the last two and no more available. Settled for the beef fillet but it was served cold and fat congealed. To their credit we were not charged for our mains. Think the kitchen was having an off night and teething problems as has only been opened for three months. We didn't stay for coffee or dessert. We'll give it another try when back in Honolulu next year. We also noted other unhappy diners."

  • "We were seated at a table with the sun blaring down on our backs. We had zero service for 20 minutes, no water, no greeting, no nothing! When we finally waved someone down (the busboy) he appoligized and looked for a server. Apparently the two tables beside us have been waiting longer then we have and had no service. It was very disappointing because the food was delicious but the experience makes me NOT want to go again. Oh and did I mention a bunch of servers were standing around talking and eating, unbelievable!"
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "Server was unorganized and took over 10 minutes to recognize and greet our table, it took even longer to consolidate check at the end of our meal. Server got our order wrong, as a suggestion repeating it back to your table would benefit both parties...we noticed he got the drink order wrong another table too. Server Assistants/Food runners walked past our table multiple times without bussing dirty plates even when the restaurant was slow. Once the staff got busy it was obvious they did not have a good flow, poor team work on the service side and lackluster food. Nice ambiance with the natural lighting and modern decor. However, the food was not well executed and the service was off the mark, I would not recommend this place to anyone."

  • "We took our goddaughters' and their friend (17, 18, 20 year olds) to lunch at Bill Sydney's in Waikiki after church. We wanted to take them somewhere hip with delicious food. From beginning to end, we were not disappointed. Our server was polite, gracious, and helpful with the menu. The three young people began bringing up pictures of food offered on the menu on their iPhones to help with their selections. We shared several starters like the salt and pepper calamari and a mushroom pizza. My husband and one goddaughter had the veal and pork ragu, and I had the parmesan crumbed chicken schnitzel. Our other goddaughter got the avocado and poke. We loved our meals and the whole experience was a home run with our multi-generational group."
