A word from Bill's Bar and Burger
Practice makes perfect...and burgers are no exception. The Bill’s burger evolved from countless tastings, recipes and lots of burger love. The result is a blend of three meats, smashed and cooked on a flattop griddle, served in an all-American seeded bun. It’s your reliable, made-to-order hamburger, plain and simple.

While Bill’s flagship location in NYC’s Meatpacking District opened in 2009 as a small neighborhood joint, it quickly turned heads across the city and was followed by a 400-seat space at Rockefeller Center, the biggest standalone burger joint in the country, and a location ‘down the shore’ at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City. Regardless of size or stature, every burger served is made fresh daily. Grab a seat at the bar and select from a long list of craft brews. Bill’s has got some sweet treats, too, from hand-dipped milkshakes to decadent cupcakes.

Diner Reviews
  • "Perfect first date place to eat. Ambience great to break any first date ice. Variety of great sandwiches, wraps, burgers. Delicious"

  • "Atmosphere and service were very good here. They take food allergies seriously so we knew our Peanut/Tree Nut/Dairy allergic child could eat safely. Unfortunately the Dairy-Free side dishes were quite limited."

  • "Given the normally terrible food offerings in tourist-heavy areas, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Sure, everyone is going to have a favorite spot in NYC that they claim has far superior burgers. But at the end of the day, this was a good burger served by pleasant staff in a good setting. The rest of the menu is good too and the service was quick. All in all, this place is not going to win any awards but it is actually a pretty reliable spot in the middle of the tourist madness of Rockefeller. I will definitely go back."

  • "The brownie milkshake was delicious except for the pieces of so-called "brownie" thrown in. The pieces were hard, dry, stale, chalky, and tasteless. They were inedible. The milkshake itself was great, but if you're going to call something a "brownie milkshake" the brownie part has to be good! Bill's should either: (1) put in real brownie pieces that taste good; (2) take the so-called "brownie" pieces out and call the milkshake something else; or (3) take the item off the menu. The burger was OK except the bun was very small, which made for a big mess. Thankfully there were wet-naps on the table! Get bigger, better-tasting buns please! The steak fries had an off-taste (not fresh oil perhaps?) and the onion rings were fair at best."

  • "Came here for a burger last week and was truly disappointed! Soggy buns that barely fit the burger, tasteless meat (if you could call it meat, tasted more like a meatless cardboard burger), and, worst of all, the service was the PITS! Our waitress walked by and asked how our meals were and, before we had a chance to open our mouths to respond, she was already walking away towards the next table with her back to us. Then, while we were still finishing our fries, she came up to our table, took the rest of our fries and THEN asked if we were still working on them. After she had already picked them up! She was the absolute worst and I wish I could give zero stars for this establishment."

  • "I love how this restaurant can be great for a fun little date night but also a good after-work happy hour spot for all those that work near Rock Center. Plus, I could see it being a fabulous find for tourists."

  • "Surly staff greasy, over-cooked burgers, cold fries."

  • "This place has a menu that you would expect from a Bar/Restaurant except that the food is actually well prepared, fresh, and delicious. The floor plan is spread out capable of holding many people but without stacking everyone on top of each other. This makes it easy to enjoy your meal and have a leisurely drink and conversation. The service is also very good. Attentive but not overwhelming. Best of all the prices are reasonable for New York."

  • "The food was very good and the prices not bad for Manhattan and the service was very fast. I love their red velvet cupcake, did not have a chance to have it this time because we were short for time had to get to a play, but I had it the last time and it was great. Their hamburgers are good and their fries are as well. The only thing I wish they had was specials, but not a big deal. Still a great place to go and love they have 2 floors and you can get to it from the underground or the street. Keep up the good work."

  • "good burger. other stuff ok. surprisingly affordable for rockefeller center."

  • "Although the food taste good, the burger sizes are small. I frequented this restaurant before in Atlantic City and I could barely finish my burger. But at this location, I was almost tempted to order another burger, but u didn't because I had a Sid order of cheese fries to fill the void. Nevertheless, the grilled shrimp burger is especially good."

  • "I was impressed as soon as I walked into the door. The staff was very friendly. We had the mushroom Swiss burger and I must say it was cooked to perfection and tasted soooo good. Our server was fantastic in every aspect. I am from Cali and I know when I come back to see my boyfriend, Bill's Bar and Burger will be on my list of places to go.. Keep up the great customer service."

  • "Expensive basic burgers. Steak fries with cheese not worth it. Tacos were just okay. Shakes were the best part of the meal. You are paying for the location I guess. Kid friendly. I wouldn't bother going back. Shake shack has better food."

  • "This is a fun place if you are looking for a burger joint that is centrally located in Manhattan. We needed somewhere near Rockefeller Center that was kid-friendly and quick. Our waiter was not overly nice or helpful but the atmosphere was lively and upbeat. You can be in and out in an hour so if you are looking for somewhere on the quick side with average food and is a crowd-pleaser, this works!"

  • "We went there with three people on a Tuesday night after work. Convenient mid-town location near several trains. It's an upscale bar food - burgers, chicken sandwiches, tacos, fries. We thought the food was delicious. Service was good although a little slow. Overall good experience and would definitely go back."

  • "My husband and I struggled picking a place to get a good ol/ burger. This place was perfect! We were seated immediately, our waiter was attentive, and the food was just what we were looking for! Nothing over the top, just a good burger, fries, and chocolate shake! Perfect dinner on a cold snowy night! We will DEF return our next time in NY!"

  • "Ate at the Bills in Rockefeller center. Overall dining experience was fantastic. Food was delicious and wait time was very short. Customer service was excellent. wait staff was attentive and friendly. Front desk employee escorted my mother in law to the 2nd level by elevator and pulled her chair out for her to sit. Outstanding young man. Clean and vibrant location in Rockefeller Center. Would recommend Bill's Burgers as a destination for a great time."

We had a reservation for 2pm and didn't have to wait to be seated. The service is fast and the orders always come out perfect. Jalapeño Margarita: 2 thumbs up!! Will go back every time we are in NYC."

  • "We had booked a table at Bills for Christmas night as we wanted to be sure to get a good meal in the area. The menu option looked good and we decided to share some nachos to start, followed by a burger each and some sides to share. No sooner had we taken a bite from our starter than the main course arrived! We were sat with a table covered in dishes. Before we could finish the main course the bill had arrived! We had been hoping for a few drinks and maybe dessert but it was clear that we were being rushed out. Really disappointing for Christmas Day."

  • "I made reservations at Bill's for after a show. I made the reservations a week in advance. You called to cancel my reservation 5 minutes before my reservation time. This gave me NO time to come up with a plan B. It ruined my night and it was embarrassing because I was entertaining people from out of town and when they got there they were turned away at the door. I would never give this place my business or trust them with anyone else's. Make reservations somewhere else... Save yourself the trouble."

  • "Great burgers and shakes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were awesome with my 9 and 6 year old We were there the Monday before Christmas lucky for us we had a reservation. Though the staff kept tables turning quickly it didn't look like the wait was long for walk ins, and we didn't feel rushed at our table. Will dine here again without a doubt!"

  • "I tried the Fat Cat. Very good flavor. Two families in NYC to attend the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Great location. Convenient to the tree and Radio City. Waitress was very cognizant of ensuring we made our show time. We were a little early and visited the bar. Bartender was very attentive. He even went into the back and grabbed kids cups with lids for our two children (4 and 2) without us even having to ask. We would definitely go back."
