Bilbo BagginsGreat even if you've never seen LTRWe've never seen the movie but thoroughly enjoy this restaurant. We even had the rehearsal dinner for our wedding here. Great service. Great spot. Can't wait to check out their happy hour.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMCome for the beer stay for the beerA neighborhood gem, The Green Dragon Pub/Bilbo Baggins World Restaurant has a diverse menu with interesting specials, but the food, while interesting and varied, pales in comparison to the massive beer list (4 pages, small type) from around the world. There is literally something for everyone here, from pub food to higher end dishes, Bilbo Baggins has it all and has the drink to go with it! Recommended.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFamily affairThe staff and customers were very friendly. Good came out hot and very quickly. It was my mother in laws birthday and the whole restaurant chimed in to sing.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBilbo Baggins has a relaxedBilbo Baggins has a relaxed atmosphere, excellent food and smooth service. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived. Despite this, we were immediately acknowledged and seated in a short time. There was no wait for service at our table and the food and drink were excellent. This was our second Mother's Day brunch there and third visit to the restaurant over all. The whole family loves it!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMothers Day BrunchWe were seated at 11:30 for Mothers Day Brunch. Our party consisted of two couples, and a set of 20 month old twins. We were seated upstairs, to the right of the stairs, in the first dining room on the left, at a six top table. The service was quick, unobtrusive, helpful, and good with the kids, who were seated at the end of the table. The tables are somewhat close together, which allowed our children to interact with the family at the table next to us, and contributes to the noise-level grade.
The food was amazing. I had the Monte Kristo, my wife had the raise bread French toast, and our kids shared a pancake platter. My wife also had a side of bacon. When Bilbo Baggins brings you a side, they bring a plate of amazing bacon.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFriendly, family pub in AlexandriaA very relaxed, casual, neighborhood spot in downtown Alexandria. The food is good, beer and drinks up to par, and service was friendly. Inexpensive and not pretentious. We will definitely go back.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a nice visitVery tasty. Howeve two dishes could have been beytter plated. The lamb chops and pork tenderloin were beautifully presented but needed larger plates to allow room for "disassembly" and cutting the meat.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI heard and read commentsI heard and read comments about poor service but that was not the case. We really enjoyed the food selected, service, and beverages.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI love the selection of beers.I love the selection of beers. There is a single stairway in the middle to go up to the seating, it seems cramped.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat beer menu!We chose this kind of blindly because of the bear menu, and because it wasn't far from where we were staying in Alexandria. We were not disappointed!! The food was wonderful and the beer outstanding! The only negative was that it was noisy and it felt kind of cramped for space. It was a Saturday night and very crowded. However, I would go back again in a heartbeat.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSchnitzel was excellent!Schnitzel was excellent! A little crowded at the table for four, but food was worth it. Bread pudding was great.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe sausage gravy over biscuitThe sausage gravy over biscuit (Sunday Brunch item) is delicious..! The chicken and sausage gravy over biscuit (Saturday Brunch item) isn't too shabby either :) Hard to get a refill on coffee in this place, but the foodstuff is (almost) good enough to overlook that. I will come back for sure, and would recommend for Sunday brunch.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighborhood GemVery nice small restaurant 3 blocks from King Street the main street in Old Town Alexandria. Parking is easy to find in the evenings - we found street parking right in front of the restaurant at no charge unlike streets closer to King St. We got seated right away, service was quick and friendly, and the food came out fairly quickly and was very very tasty. My grilled portabello chicken was delicious topped with roasted portabello mushroom cap and sundried tomato tapenade.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to Bilbo's Saturday evening,Went to Bilbo's Saturday evening, had a reservation at 6:30 but got there a little early. We had no problem getting in ahead of time. We ate up stairs where there was plenty of room and rather quiet, the downstairs bar area was hopping. Overall, the food and service was very good, the beer and wine selection was quite extensive. Our entire party enjoyed our meals, although nothing really stood out except the cilantro fries. Overall a very enjoyable experience, would go there again.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a fun little place,This is a fun little place, I wish we had cute restaurants like it in Prince William County. We went for the special Easter brunch menu, but hope to return.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had Easter Brunch at BilboWe had Easter Brunch at Bilbo Baggins. The food was delicious, My friend and I had not been there in a very long time, and we really don't know why. Would return soon.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Easter brunch specialsThe Easter brunch specials were all delicious and large portioned. As usual, Bilbo Baggins' beer list was impressive and had something for everyone's taste. Despite the Easter rush, service was quick and polite and the wait between being seated and being served very short. I would definitely recommend Bilbo Baggins to others, I have yet to be disappointed in the dozen or so times I have gone there.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to Bilbo Baggins forI went to Bilbo Baggins for brunch, their stuffed french toast is delicious! My Mother ordered the pancake platter - comes with eggs, bacon, and sausage. She loved that too. Great service. The waiter was very attentive. Nice old building too.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AM
