The food was well prepared, but maybe a bit too much of it. The portions were large so expect to leave full or with leftovers. We enjoyed the house chips with the parmasesn and oil, nice appetizer. I reccomend tempura lobster tail5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service and food was veryThe service and food was very good- we went on a Sunday evening and they were fairly busy- there was a convention in town and some private parties but they were separate from the rest of the restaurant and our waiter was there quickly and told us about the menu and specials for the evening- we both felt rushed to order and felt like he was more concerned about getting another table to wait on- and get his tip.

One of the reasons this place remains consistent is because the owner/manager is always present and goes to each table to visit with the guests. We sat in the side room with the lower ceilings and darker lighting, which was nice despite the quite loud noise level. 80% of which were from young children talking about their day at Disney. It was about 8:30 when we were seated (we had reservations for 9 but there was an open spot and where seated immediately.) Excellent experience, hopefully we can come back on a less loud night. The food was just okay. We have had better seafood elsewhere. The sushi entree was really marginal. The nori and mesclun mix were chewy and tasted old. The salmon was a bit mealy. The chopped seafood salad was mostly lettuce and had what appeared to be a processed bottle dressing. The best entree was the clams and mussels with white sauce. The key lime pie was good, as was the ice cream cookie sandwich. The service was friendly and attentive. I would have liked to try some of the house specialities. I loved the casual yet elegant atmosphere. The fare is simply the freshest and finest quality cuts. I haven't seen King Crab legs of this quality since my last trip to Alaska. The swordfish steak made me realize that I have never truly eaten swordfish. Bobby Moore, the owner, came to our table personally to see that everything was perfect. It was. What an experience. We had read previous reviews and they were spot on. Our appetizer, the calamari was the best we had ever had and the dipping sauce, a chili-Thai sauce was a nice surprise. The swordfish filet was amazing, never had a portion that large and flavorful without being overpowered by seasoning and spice. The popcorn shrimp had an amazing coating, more tempura-like. The grouper with lump crab meat, a house specialty and favorite, was some of the best grouper I had ever had.
The attentive staff made this visit personable and fun. It has definitely made our top 10 all time favorite restaurants. The food was very good and the wine selection by the glass was respectable. The waitstaff were friendly and efficient. The grilled oysters were a favorite. The blue crab dusted grouper and the salmon Rockefeller were also well-prepared and very tasty. I rated this one 4 stars because, while it is very good, for the price you pay, it should be outstanding! There are a lot of different food choices although the focus is Seafood. I have tried several different dishes and everything is always delicious. It is the perfect Florida restaurant.
