Biff's BistroThe ambiance was electricThe ambiance was electric and we loved the fresh oysters! We can't wait to return.12/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOysters were excellent.ServiceOysters were excellent.Service was great.Food was too salty.8/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulWent with my girlfriend to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. We mentioned it was only our 3rd dating anniversary but regardless, it seemed like everyone in the restaurant went over and above to make sure we were congratulated and felt special. a special message written in chocolate on our dessert plate, along with complimentary wine made our evening even more special. Staff were friendly, but they could have been staffed a little more, especially for a friday night. Couldn't say more positive things about the food or service though!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent and professionalExcellent and professional service. Food was delicious. A little sad that the mussels are off the dinner menu. This means I return for lunch.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe evening started with aThe evening started with a very friendly greeting from the hostess and the manager. Our server was fantastic and spent time with us going over the menu and answered our many questions. The fois gras appetizer was to die for. Unfortunately, when our steaks came out they were the wrong ones. But....no problem. Mistakes happen. We weren't in any rush, and we were surprised when the manager offered us a bottle of wine on the house. We had 2 bottle's of Biff's wine and really enjoyed them.
Overall, the experience was super, the meal was fantastic and the ambiance perfect.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious Poulet ChasseurWhile the food took way too long to arrive (especially for a business lunch) the dish was well prepared and very tasty.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Dining ExperienceAnother great dinner with wonderful food and very attentive service. We have all eaten here before and it was just as good this time as the first. This is a restaurant I highly recommend for consistently fine dining.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and priced rightWe decided to try the special three-course meal (with choices) for $35. I had the duck, which was terrific on a bed of baked beans. (Beans were a bit bland.) My husband had the beef, which was as he described, "melt in your mouth tender". The oysters were phenomenal and even my husband (who doesn't care for them) tried one and thought it was good.
The menu has some unique items such as frogs-legs and if I recall correctly, pigs ears, which were an appetizer. (No, I wasn't that brave or curious...)
I had the house, "Biff's" red wine, which I was told would be somewhat fruity so I expected it to be a bit sweet but was dry.
Overall, a good meal for the price and I would return again and try something new and most definitely the oysters again!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMQuality food and great wines!Quality food and great wines! Staff makes this place!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat bistro!! Simple but deliciousFriendly staff guided us to try some fun things. Warm octopus salad and escargot with smoked sweetbreads were quite tasty! Foie Gras was very nice and the pig's ears were fun. Great wine list - Mersault was delish!bailey and Judith couldn't have been nicer! If we lived in Toronto - it would be dangerous!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper French BistroThis restaurant is a hidden gem amongst Toronto's great culinary experience. It has the true sense and flavour of a classic French Bisto. The Duck Confite is amazing and a must to have. Great place for lunch and super for dinner.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love Biff'sThe food, the service, the room, the location, all good. The waitress asked if we were going to a show later and adjusted the timing on our food without making us feel rushed. She let us try a second house wine after the first recommendation was not to our tastes. The oysters were yummy, and the duck confit and fish soup were delicious. As expected. Thanks Biff's.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMVery pleasant dining experienceExpertly cooked if somewhat predictable brasserie type dishes, but isn't that the point of brasseries? Really great, attentive & professional service, all delivered in a beautiful room & on time - not a small accomplishment considering many diners need to clear out by 7:30 for the Sony Centre performances. My companion & I chose to go with a pre-fix menu @ $ 35 per/person. We both thought that the food was expertly cooked, nicely presented, & not expensive. Note to the chef - can we please have more bacon than one tiny piece on the romaine hearts salad.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways goodWe go to Biff's from time to time even though it is in downtown and we live uptown. Parking is easy underground and you only pay $2.- you don't even have to go outdoor to access the restaurant, this is a great plus considering the headache in parking downtown.
Food are always good. They serve oysters for $1.- which is a great deal even though it's a small one.
Chicken liver parfait is smooth and flavourful, lamb belly melts in the mouth, smelts are crispy. Next time, we'll try the crispy pig ear which looks great on the next table.
Wine list covers old and new world extensively and are priced reasonably.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench Cuisine at its bestGreat oysters as always and wonderful but simple French cuisine. Outstanding personal service as always5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent throughoutWe have been to Biff's Bistro many times. That in itself is a recommendation as we have many restaurants within a couple of blocks of our home. Friends joined us on Saturday night and everyone had a wonderful evening with great food and wine delivered with the highest quality service. Highly recommended for almost any occasion,5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMIts been over 5 years sinceIts been over 5 years since I was last at Biffs and it didn't disappoint my group. The food and the service was great. My 87 year old mom normally complains about restaurant food but she said it is the best meal she has had in a very long time. We will recommend and definitely be back! thanks5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great lunch experienceI have dined at Biff's several times and have always found it enjoyable. The service is above average and the servers are always attentive. The menu is varied enough to provide for a wide range of tastes.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as usual! We have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years! We have NEVER been disappointed! Great service and food! Plus you can bring your own wine with a corkage fee!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-game EnjoymentWe dined at Biff's Bistro mid-week before a Toronto Maple Leaf playoff game and had a wonderful time. The receptionist sat us at our table as soon as we arrived even though we were about 15 minutes early. And our waitress (Leslie) was very helpful with the French wine list and dinner list. The food was very good and brought to us in a timely manner. A great experience!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMProvençal cooking before the showLovely decor, very charming, open, welcoming. Service polite, friendly and efficient. Felt a little rushed, but they knew we needed to be done in time for the theatre. Home style dishes from the south of France with a modern twist. Well-prepared and presented.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat fun, great foodOverall wonderful dining experience, from service to the food!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant. We've been there many times and always had a great experience.
