While the food and service were excellent (the specials always seem to hit the mark and the waiter recommended a truly excellent bottle of Italian Sauvignon), I was taken aback by the overwhelming noise level that made normal conversation nearly impossible. BICE San Diego immediately reminded us of the best restaurants in Rome. The food is delicious, the wines are not overpriced, and the staff are attentive and knowledgeable. Our waiter Stefano is a true professional. Lived in SD area now 34 years and this is one of the best new restaurants to come along in some time. Reminded us of our last time in Rome, very authentic Italian cooking. The use of a delicious buratta in several starters was insured, quite tasty. The bronzino was delicious, with a very creative presentation. The portion sizes were ample, we were too fool to sample the extensive list of great looking desserts. Add in a beautiful room and a gregarious Italian waiter and it was like being home. You must try the cheese course, pricy but just heavenly.
