Bice Ristorante in Scottsdale is merely the latest chapter in one of the oldest family-owned restaurant companies in the world. It’s a history that began in Milan, Italy where Beatrice “Bice” Ruggeri opened her first restaurant (BiCE’s Kitchen) in 1926, travelled to the States with the opening of the original BiCE Ristorante in Manhattan in 1987 — a favorite haunt of the Rat Pack, Calvin Klein and Sharon Stone — to this latest stunner in Scottsdale.

We made a reservation through Open Table and we arrived at 7:00 P.M. and there were very few people there. Within a half hour the restaurant was neatly full and when we left there were no tables available."

The wine list was thin and down-market, a contrast to other Bice restaurants we have experienced. The service was ok but a bit too officious and intrusive. We want good service that is attentive but leaves us alone to eat. Will go back, hoping for improvement next time."

  • "This was our second visit to Bice. The first was in the fall - & they weren't quite ready for us. This time the Chef was in attendance and the food was delicious! We eat our very often, have tried all of the well-known restaurants in Scottsdale, and this dinner was right up there as one of the very best. From the burr ate cheese appetizer with fresh basil, his absolutely delicioso eggplant park - to my veal chop and his filet which were both perfectly cooked, perfect sides and sauces, just top shelf meat entrees. This is now on. Our Favorites list , service was impeccable. Beautiful restaurant for a special night too."

The food was excellent, as always, however, the service we received (or should I say did not receive) overshadowed the whole dining experience. Our waiter was inattentive and almost nonexistent. I was embarrassed as we had brought friends with us to dine. The wine list is very limited and overpriced for the selections offered."

  • "I would never go back here, or refer anyone, friends, family, clients. When we walked in, there was nobody at the hostess stand, the bartender saw us and the gal standing there, yells across the area, "Are you here for a reservation?". The food is like pre-made, boil in the bag meals. I can cook better than this. With this location not being in a busy area what so ever, Bice will be closing up soon, I have no doubts."

We were frustrated that for our valentine reservation we were seated in a booth right next to 10 other couples and could hear others' conversations. The help seemed very confused/busy and didn't really know their own menu options. We thought the food was INCREDIBLE. If the help/ambiance had some work this would have been a perfect experience."

  • "Second visit a distinct disappointment. Perhaps it was the night -- 2/17 -- perhaps our menu selections, perhaps the dirth of other patrons. The restaurant was understaffed, a slow night planned apparently, with only one waiter and one bus boy. Apparently the kitchen was, too, as the food seemed like it was reheated from what was in the freezer. Heavy, definitely not light and fresh. Pretty much the opposite from our first visit. Will give it one more try, eventually, but not happy to spend lots of bucks for a disappointing meal."

  • "When we arrived at the restaurant we were a bit early so we had a glass of wine at the bar. Our table was ready in no time. Once we sat down is when the problem started. After we were brought some bread we were ignored by the wait staff. 15 minutes went by and I finally approched the hostess letting her know what is going on. Although there were plenty of waiters and waitresses around none of them came to check on us. Finally we were waited on by one of the hostesses. Needless to say we weren't impressed. The food was great....service needs some work."

Not to mention I absolutely hate a table where one person faces the wall, poor design in my opinion and I usually refuse these tables but they were packed. Food was terrific as was the staff."

  • "My husband and I had dinner at Bice on his birthday. We had a wonderful time. I am vegetarian and the menu included a number of great choices for me. I got the Beet and Goat Cheese Salad which was heavenly and the Spinach Ravioli which was also really delicious. My husband ordered the Lobster bisque and Scallop Risotto and he loved it. The atmosphere was rich and romantic and included a lovely guitar and vocal duet. The service by Greg was outstanding. We will definitely be going back soon."

  • "We were hoping this would be another favorite neighborhood restaurant to add to our list but were disappointed and unsure as to whether we would return. Waiter was enthusiastic (a bit over the top perhaps) but busboys seemed undertrained, removing our silverware and forgetting to replace it for when our entrée arrived and needing too much constant direction from our waiter. Didn't care for my fava bean salad but that could be just my personal taste. Entrée was tasty (we both ordered the rack of lamb special) but for the same price at other high end restaurants we would receive 1/2 to 2 times the amount of food. Hoping they make improvements to the service and the pricing/quantity as it is quite a pretty restaurant. Or we won't return."

  • "The restaurant is lovely. We were greeted very nicely but after we were seated the experience turned sour. Our waiter greeted us and saw that we had water. After that he must have thought we were no longer there. Another server finally came and took our order. The food was reasonably good but the mussels in one dish were very overcooked. No one came for a long time to ask if the food was OK or if we wanted dessert or coffee. When a manager asked how things had been, his reaction to my response told me he really did not care. I would need to have someone tell me the service was really good before I would return. This was nothing like my experience at Bice in San Diego."

Beautiful dining room and friendly service from the staff. + Starters, pasta, and main dishes were ver good ( Lamb & Chicken) + Dessert to die for + Limited wine selection but good choices at good prices - Service was friendly but there was a mistake - first and second courses arrived at the same time which caused us to need to eat quickly while dishes were hot - Limited wine selection on the main menu, no separate wine menu. - The place was nearly empty on a Saturday night. Overall the food was first rate, as good and maybe better than Bice in San Diego."

  • "This was my 5th time to BiCE. I picked it for New Years Eve as I live close by. I've enjoyed my previous visits to BiCE very much, finding the waitstaff fun, knowledgeable and attentive and the food delicious.. Not so the other night. Don't get me wrong, the food was as good as the waiter was bad. Who wants to wait 20 minutes to be acknowledged after being seated on New Years Eve. And to wait another 15 minutes for the drinks to come? No bread plate when the bread was brought to the table. They cleared the silverware & napkins and brought the next course without replacing them. The waiter was surly. When I asked him to "tell me a little about the Filet" said "it's a Filet, what else is there to say..." That spoke volumes to me."

  • "The products used to prepare the food were of the highest quality and prepared to perfection. The presentation of the meal matched any thing we experienced in Europe. The Chief was on TV showing his wares and my wife was very impressed.so we made a reservation. It was on the high side for our normal meal cost but it was worth it to see the smile on my wife's during the whole experiance. They also have a second level that will have a spectular views and we were next the fire place and it was super. This was our first visit but it will not be our last."
