Old Naples is full of great restaurants but I always find myself back at Bice's on special occasions. The restaurant was reasonably busy but we never felt pressured to rush. We all ordered different entrees and couldn't have been more pleased with each. The service we received was outstanding our waiter was attentive and welcoming. We have eaten at BICE before and were disappointed this trip. I had the clams and linguine with a red sauce and it was good not great. My wife had the tuna and was disappointed thought it could have been much better. My first experience with Bice was at their restaurant in Milan, Italy. Unlike typical American fastfood/chain Italian restaurants, Bice has it's roots in Italy. Bice serves Italian cuisine around the world, from Dubai to Japan. That's why this review was practically written before dining, we knew what Bice was all about.
During our recent visit to Naples we visited the Bice on 3rd and 5th in downtown Naples. It's a beautiful and popular restaurant. You can dine indoors or "alfresco". We ordered the Cesar Salad and White Bean shrimp soup as our appetizers. Our "prima" course was the pasta bolanese and lasagna w/bolanese. The wine list, for an upscale restaurant, is reasonable. It was perfect for our purpose on this particular night, but I would like to choose from a very tempting menu of a wide variety of dishes, and an extensive wine menu in the future.
