Our meals were fabulous. Best brunch ever. The potatoes were the best I've ever eaten. And the price was very reasonable. We love Bibo's and we certainly weren't disappointed this time. I think it's the best kept secret in Portland.

A very enjoyable dining experience, despite the fact that the waitress kept trying to push a more expensive bottle of wine. The pistacio cream sauce on the fusilli was to die for and the shortcake was yummy!

The best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. They were hot, they were perfectly cooked, the sauce was delicious, the ham wasn't tough. The potatoes were out of this world, white and sweet potatoes, lots of herbs, a little bite. The atmosphere/space is nothing special but the food was fantastic.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal. The quality of the food was top notch, the service was very good. The wine list was great. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. The portions were generous, I could not finish mine and my husband was very satisfied with his meal. I can't wait to go back on my next trip to Portland. I highly recommend Bibo's.

Dinner was a very pleasing experience overall. Food was carefully prepared, attractively presented, and delicious. The only item that was moderately disappointing was the appetizer of spring rolls. They were not especially flavorful. Alcohol: We tried to order cocktails but did not know ahead of time that this cafe serves only beer and wine. We appreciated being able to taste wine before ordering a glass. Service: Even though we had told our server that we had tickets for the theater and we had allotted two hours for dinner, dessert and coffee were a wee bit rushed. Pacing could have been a little better. We had to ask for a coffee refill. Haddock and strawberry-rhubarb shortcake were especially wonderful. Good experience!

We had lunch (a couple in our group had brunch) on a Saturday while in town for my son's graduation from the Salt Institute. The waiter was delightful and that set the tone for our meal. The food was terrific! So well priced...I actually would have gladly paid more. Unfortunately we had other plans for dinner but I do think it would be a great spot for an evening meal too! Don't miss it!

Went to a wine tasting-fabulous! The wines were superb and the food was incredible. They do a wonderful job of pairing the food and the wines. Excellent chef! One of the best in the city, if you ask me. A great value for the price. Five wines and five courses for around $50. You can't beat it. We go every month and are very disappointed if we have a prior engagement on the night of the tasting. We've gone to several wine tastings in several cities and this one is the best.

The Madd Apple never fails to impress. It's the go to place when you want great food at fair prices - and to have the "anti-chain restaurant" experience. Just a note, if your name has a hyphen in it, Open Table's system will make your reservation unfindable by the restaurant, so you may want to call to confirm!

We didn't feel rushed and appreciated that they took reservations for 4. I had the special pasta dish, husband had the haddock and the othrs had flank steak. All were excellent. The Bibb lettuce salad was different and delicious.

The staff we friendly and helpful and it simple feels good inside. Madd Apple is much much more than a restaurant to go to before attending a play at Portland Stage.

The atmosphere is warm and cozy, but also exudes energy and vibrancy. The "noise level" for lack of a better phrase reflects lively conversation. The wine list is varied, interesting and affordable. The featured beer and Portland Mead add to the interesting beverage choices. I love the fact that if wine is ordered by the glass the bottle is brought out and poured from, allowing one to see the label. The menu from starters to dessert is just wonderful. There are some hard choices to be made here! We settled for an amazing Pho with duck breast (mmm...), scallops, shrimp, oyster mushrooms, baby spinach in a lobster broth w/noodles. Amazing desserts-apple tart w/cinnamon gelato and a light, melt in your mouth Greek pastry. Bibo's - a ge

Each and every experience has been memorable for the excellent food, the knowledgeable and friendly staff, and the warm ambience. My various companions have enjoyed the experience with equal pleasure and have returned on their own to enjoy the fine seafood, steak, chicken, pork and risotto dishes offered with incredible side dishes to compliment each. I simply can't find the words to recommend this restaurant highly enough. It is absolutely superb! I hope to be visiting the Madd Apple much more frequently in the future!
