Much like her sibling down the hill, Betty serves a rotating menu of bistro-style food using seasonal ingredients. We are centrally located amongst the trendy businesses along Queen Anne Avenue's bustling business district - step inside to our inviting yet eclectic and sophisticated atmosphere, featuring art by Bay Area artist, Judah Thomas. The restaurant offers seating in either our dining room or at the chef's counter where you can watch our talented chefs at work. Betty also has a full bar and lounge and a superb wine list with values from around the globe. Reservations are recommended.Continued

  • "We went to Betty during Seattle Restaurant Week and ordered from the prix fixe menu. I had mixed green salad followed by a Mexican Braised Lamb Shank; my companion started with the pear & Bibb lettuce salad and had the Oven Roasted Chicken for her main. We thought the food was really excellent - well-cooked and seasoned beautifully, nicely presented. The quantity was just right too. For dessert I had the Meyer Lemon tart and she had the banana cream pie, and again they were wonderful. The service was quick, friendly and professional. No mistakes, plenty of attention; water glasses were kept full and my friend's hot tea water was replenished. The server even offered to split the check for us without being asked. Overall a terrific evening!"

  • "The Steak Frites meal continues to be a huge treat. I have steak perhaps twice a year, and this is the spot. Tender, generous, perfectly prepared at med. rare, My husband Lamb shank was so ggood it fell off the bone. Nice moderately priced wine selection also. Queen Anne is so fortunate to have this place."

  • "I've been to some of the bigger, more popular restaurants in Seattle... And as good as they are, none compare to Betty. The food is consistent, sheet perfection. I go at least once a month and every time after I take my first bite, I question why I would ever go anywhere else. The steak and frites, phenomenal; the oven roasted chicken, mouth watering; the Betty burger, juicy and flavorful. From the appetizers and entrees to the accommodating and friendly staff, you will not be disappointed. My personal favorite place to sit is at the chef's counter--the chef and staff are so kind and hard working. It's a fun time!!"

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary at Betty. I had he lamb shank and it fell off the bone and was deliciously tender. The waitstaff was fantastic, very attentive without being pushy, very sincere and knowledgable aboutthe menu with excellent recommendations. Atmosphere is energetic in the lounge so sit in the dining area if u want a more mellowexperience. Very reasonable pricing for the location and excellent food."

  • "It's hard to be objective -- we've been going almost weekly since they opened years ago. What more can I say? Betty is perfect for any occasion. The food is well priced and healthy (low carb, if you watch your intake of their amazing fries). We never feel like we're over-indulging. They're cocktail menu and wine list will make you happy. I could go on and on. Betty forever!"

  • "Early dinner with friends. Service was warm, but not obtrusive. The place was empty when we arrived, full when we left, with a nice energy. Food was very good. It was my first time at the restaurant, so I was a little surprised at the limited menu. If what's on offer is what you want, it will be delicious. But don't expect a lot of choices. The only disappointment was an overpriced cheese plate starter course: a thumb-sized piece of supermarket brie and four thin slices of a decent white cheddar, accompanied by a few raspberries, some artisan-ish crackers, and a thimble of dried cherries. It was what I might set out if my wife's boss was coming to our house for drinks. (We don't like him very much.)"

  • "I took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day and it was the perfect spot. The food was fantastic, the wine was great, and the atmosphere was perfect for a date. It was fairly lively in the restaurant but we could easily hear each other. It was a fairly romantic setting with an atmosphere that made it easy to ignore all that was happening around us. The waitress easily answered all my questions about food and wine and had great service."

  • "Waitress was not very attentive, and actually not very friendly. There was a hair in my french onion soup; she replaced the soup, but only at my urging did she remove the charge from the bill."

  • "Second, time at Betty; V-day. Service was amazing: Sara: friendly, knowledgable, personable, attentive. We ordered oysters, hamburger, pork tenderloin, & English toffee pudding. The hamburger was 5 stars. Absolutely perfect; quality of meat, bun, pickles- everything. Tenderloin was moist & flavorful; never had a tenderloin cooked so perfectly. My only recommendations: the chicories was a little too bitter for me, it was exactly how it should be; just not a fan of bitter. Also, we wished the oysters came on ice instead of salt. Large clumps of salt stuck to the shell and to the lemons; it overwhelmed the taste & texture of the oysters, but the quality was perfect. Dessert: Amazing. So sad, I forgot my leftover."

  • "We've been wanting to try this place for quite some time now, and finally decided to make it happen earlier this week. Sunday through Tuesday, they offer 20 different bottles of wine for only $20, which is a great way to get things started! The food was great and came quickly. The server was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and attentive. Overall this was a great experience and we will definitely be back!"

  • "We walk to Betty's almost every Sunday night. The staff is wonderful. Dan, the owner, is charming and friendly. The atmosphere is cosy and the music is keep at reasonable levels so we can hear each other . The wine list is great and well priced. We love all his dishes but our favorites are the salads, the fish items , the chicken and the steak /frites is Amazing !!! Do not miss this restaurant !!!! Don & Deborah"

  • "I took a friend, my college age daughter, and grad school nephew to dinner at Betty and we had a great dinner and a great time. I enjoyed the evening's special scallops (and they were delicious), my friend ate every bit of the seasonal pork special, my daughter the smoked salmon/potato latkes, and my nephew the Betty Burger. Something for everyone! Great kale salad and organic house salad and good house wine rounded out our dinner. Dessert was ok, but probably could have done without. Service was prompt and friendly. Restaurant was not busy when we arrived at 6 pm on a Thursday night, but we had made reservations just in case and were seated promptly. By the time we left, many tables were occupied. We can recommend Betty with confidence."

  • "Everything was perfect. I generally write a lot, but quite simply, everything was really, really, PERFECT. Service (Rachel was awesome. She was kind and very personable. She took time with each table and never neglected others.), food (perfectly cooked, taste, presentation, portion, price-all delish), ambiance (clean, refreshing, tasteful, simple, elegant, relaxed, but easy to dress up a little and enjoy a special night). Great place for a date or get together. Noise, I love it (no echoing noise; no blaring music). The only improvement I would ask for, cushions on the booth/bench seats. Our meal was timely, but there was noticeable time between each course, so I was a little sore."

  • "I ordered the rib-eye ($25), which was delicious, and my date had the scallops (3 for $26). Both of these entrees, and the wine were expensive, by Belltown standards. But this is upper Queen Anne, and that must be the reason for the price discrepancy. I would have rated this "Very Good", if prices were 20-25% less."

  • "I used to be wary of bringing my kiddo to Betty. The candles and wine glasses looked too tempting. The vibe seemed more adult than not. One date night, I noticed a booth of parents drinking wine and kids eating quietly. What?!? In Betty? Yep. So I started taking the bug with us. She specifically loves Betty's happy hour, where we sit in a small area near the entrance. We people watch and get our $2 oysters on. She loves their Asian ribs, I eat the Asian slaw and hubby gets the kimchi. She could get their buttered noodles (not on the menu) but for $8, I rather get some delicious happy hour item instead. Service is always kind and welcome her enthusiasm for their food."

  • "We sat up at the bar wanting to be able to watch them cook and also get quicker service. Everything went very well, although we were 15 min. late due to traffic and only had 45 min to eat. Our dishes (Cassoulet) were amazing, wine by the glass suggested by waiter (and a tasting prior) was excellent. Glad we came, but wished for more time. It was soooo busy due to the great food, and because we arrived late and had limited time, we ended up only haviing 10 min. to eat ( ballet set the schedule!). At least we had the leftovers for home! I highly recommend this place. The atmosphere was great for single or couple dining."

It comes across as a neighborhood gem, but it has the substance and sophistication to be a downtown high end restaurant. If you like excellent food, a neighborhood restaurant feel and a classy, yet relaxed ambience -- you will love Betty."

  • "there were 3 of us and we asked for 2 orders of clams -- which were HUGE. We barely touched the 2nd order which came as an entree. I think the waiter should have told us it was so big. But he was excellent with the wine suggestions and let us taste a couple before committing. Very nice. Kale salad was great"

  • "We'd made a reservation for 5:30 & got there about 5:20. The table they'd held for us was a two-top right by the front window where it was likely to be cold. When I declined the table, the hostess told me that was all she could give us in the dining room as our reservation came in last. I found that slightly insulting since we were there early and they were virtually empty. She offered us a table in the bar, which did serve a full menu but we still ended up by a door that let in a draft. Our server was sweet and very attentive and the food was quite good except the latkes which should have been towel-drained before serving (very greasy). When leaving an hour later, the dining room was still only half full. Poor judgment call by the hostess!"

  • "We had an early reservation so we could make a show at Key Arena, just a short taxi or bus ride away. It fills up by 5:45 so heads up if you have a 7 PM show. Food was really well prepared, service was attentive and informative. Wine list and menu items are kept small in number but high in quality. Great neighborhood find."

  • "Second dining experience at this local eatery, just up the hill from Seattle Center. Once again, the food was excellent, service was prompt, portions were adequate, and drink selections were diverse. I had an excellent mushroom risotto - piping hot, with generous portions of crimini, chanterelles, matsutake, and oyster mushrooms. My wife had a Betty burger with white cheddar cheese - pretty sure that the beef is ground at the restaurant. Regardless, this is an excellent establishment worth the trip to Queen Anne Hill."

  • "Friday night and it was bustling. Service was spot on and with our reservation we were seated almost immediately. Great strong drinks! Food was delicious: we ordered the mushroom risotto and chicken with seasonal veggies. We loved both entrees! Oh and the meat platter was wonderful as well as our appetizer! Its a warm friendly urban atmosphere with lots of couples or small groups of girlfriends that night. A very nice dinner out!"
