  • "My boyfriend and I went to Bestellen to celebrate his birthday and we had such an amazing time! Since my boyfriend and I love eating steak, I chose Bestellen for its famous Cote de Bouef! We were used to eating smaller portions of steak so imagine his surprise when I ordered the 48oz cote de bouef! Boy was he excited when the food came! Nothing can describe the burst of meaty goodness when we took our first bite. I would definitely recommend this to everyone! For dessert, we ordered a lemon cake and it came with a candle! I requested for a better seat through my online reservation but never did I expect for the waiter to go a step further! It was a simple gesture but it definitely surprised myself and my bf. Top notch service!"

  • "We decided to try Bestellen for brunch last Sunday, we've been for dinner several times but not brunch. The menu had some old favourites as well as some new dishes (for us, anyway). We sat at the bar so that we could chat with Ryan since we hadn't seen him in a few months. Ryan made a couple of wonderful suggestions and boy was he right on! I had the Soft Scrambled Eggs, Parmigiano, Shaved La Quercia Ham & Toast, it was OUTSTANDING. Very rich, mind you, but so absolutely delicious I just couldn't stop myself from finishing the entire plate! My husband had the Breakfast Burger, Bacon, Egg, English Cheddar, Brioche Bun which he also loved. Bestellen has one of the best burgers in the city! Ryan is a wonderful host."

  • "I took my partner to Bestellen as a surprise congratulation dinner. I was a bit worried when I read a few of the poor reviews; however I found them to be quite untrue. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. While we were there the music was an appropriate volume and we could easily have a conversation without raising our voices (but it was a Sunday) Particularly notable were the burger and the cheesecake. My partner usually gets their burger done well but was convinced to order it like a steak - it was delicious. Now I am not a dessert person but the chevre cheese cake with candied oranges and pistachios was absolutely unbelievable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We already have plans to go back."

  • "I had the best burger in my life at Bestellen just two nights ago. I ordered the burger medium rare and it was grilled to perfection with a good Raclette and great burger bun. This one is far better than the Bymark burger, guys. We started with polenta (delicious) and the charcuterie board. The speck was perfect, as was the salumi, but I thought they might have done better with foie gras instead of the chicken liver. One of the glasses of wine I purchased was this spicy and peppery Californian which I count in my top 15 of any glass I've had. The only negative is that they charged $5 for our tap water. We thought that was a bit of a cheeky move! haha. In sum, I shall return to Bestellen and hopefully before too long."

  • "I went to Bestellen on two consecutive Wednesday nights with a few friends. The service is also excellent! There are $1 oyster specials on Wednesday (Malpeques from PEI). The burger is really outstanding... perfectly buttery and sweet brioche with a little bit of sea salt, caramelized onions, arugala, raclette, and a perfectly cooked burger of braised short rib and dry-aged beef. The brussels sprouts were also delicious and light (roasted with ricotta and lemon). The duck rillette that came with the charcuterie board was also great. I am normally not a fan of carrot cake, but the carrot cake here was absolutely perfect... it was warm and covered in caramel sauce and had a side of cream cheese ice cream. YUM!"

  • "The ambience at Bestellen was very nice. Loved the decor and the open space. The charcuterie board and the house made chips were a nice start. The mains took a long time to come (it was a Monday, and though there were a couple of large parties, it was relatively empty). The octopus starters ordered by two people in the party were overcooked (the tentacles were charred very badly) and cold. Scallops were nice and light. The server was nice, welcoming and informative. Though, he should let people know if there is a delay in the kitchen. Will likely give this place another chance but not any time soon."

  • "Bestellen is really outstanding. Certainly one of the best dinners I've had. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food you get -- we spent $100 ($50 a person) for two courses and 2 pints of beer and felt very satisfied. Bestellen has some really excellent beers on tap that pair well with their kind of cuisine (i.e. meat). I'm often not one to obsess over "service", but it's worth it to say that the service here was really top notch."

  • "Earlier in the day, I received a call confirming that we were still coming and to let me know that we only had the table for 2 hours and then someone else was booked to take it. I hate this practice. I know tables have to turn, but it should be seamless to me the customer. When we arrived the hostess made sure we knew that they were very busy. We were informed that 2 of 5 mains were already sold out for the evening because of large parties in the back including one of the dishes we had been looking forward to. How can menus be sold out by 7:30pm due to large groups that surely booked in advance. The food was excellent and the waiter was a delight. But the attitude seemed to be that we were lucky to be able to eat there."
