I had been for dinner before and
it was fantastic, decided to try for brunch and had the same experience. I nervously took a 3 year old but the staff were great and there was no issue when I requested a slight change to the dish that we ordered for her. Great spot, we will be back."

We reserved to try the cote the
boeuf and despite being disappointed about not being able to get one of the smaller portions of steak and a burger, we settled on sharing the 40oz steak (for two). The beef was cooked perfectly and we certainly had enough of the delicious steak."

I really enjoyed my experiece at
Bestellen this week. The octopus, steak tatare, rib steak and hamburger as well as the oysters were all outstanding but it was the excellent service that really struck a cord with me. From the welcome at the door, to the bar staff to our wonderful server....all so invested in ensuring that we had a great time."

This is definitely the best steak
in town and this includes the high-end steak joints like Jacob's and Morton's. The steak for two is a must order and I've never been dissapointed."

We decided to try Bestellen for
brunch last Sunday, we've been for dinner several times but not brunch. The menu had some old favourites as well as some new dishes (for us, anyway). We sat at the bar so that we could chat with Ryan since we hadn't seen him in a few months. Ryan made a couple of wonderful suggestions and boy was he right on! I had the Soft Scrambled Eggs, Parmigiano, Shaved La Quercia Ham & Toast, it was OUTSTANDING. Very rich, mind you, but so absolutely delicious I just couldn't stop myself from finishing the entire plate! My husband had the Breakfast Burger, Bacon, Egg, English Cheddar, Brioche Bun which he also loved. Bestellen has one of the best burgers in the city! Ryan is a wonderful host."

We enjoyed the food and decor, and
the service was very friendly, and efficient -- but acoustics are awful. You have to shout to have a conversation. Some people find a noisy venue energizing and exciting. I don't."

Came here for a birthday second
year in a row, was not disappointed. 2 orders of côte de bœuf was more than enough for 3 people, but still left room for dessert. Will come again!"

The steak? Good. Outstanding? Not
really. The value? Awful. We had a way better experience (and frankly a better steak) at Bar Isabel the week before- for the same cost- we had drinks (had none at best ellen)- and WAY more food. My boyfriend got a cheeseburger after."

I took my partner to Bestellen as
a surprise congratulation dinner. I was a bit worried when I read a few of the poor reviews; however I found them to be quite untrue. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. While we were there the music was an appropriate volume and we could easily have a conversation without raising our voices (but it was a Sunday) Particularly notable were the burger and the cheesecake. My partner usually gets their burger done well but was convinced to order it like a steak - it was delicious. Now I am not a dessert person but the chevre cheese cake with candied oranges and pistachios was absolutely unbelievable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We already have plans to go back."

I had the best burger in my life
at Bestellen just two nights ago. I ordered the burger medium rare and it was grilled to perfection with a good Raclette and great burger bun. This one is far better than the Bymark burger, guys. We started with polenta (delicious) and the charcuterie board. The speck was perfect, as was the salumi, but I thought they might have done better with foie gras instead of the chicken liver. One of the glasses of wine I purchased was this spicy and peppery Californian which I count in my top 15 of any glass I've had. The only negative is that they charged $5 for our tap water. We thought that was a bit of a cheeky move! haha. In sum, I shall return to Bestellen and hopefully before too long."

Bestellen. had it been my first I probably wouldn't have returned. it was just an odd night. predominantly tables of 6 to 8 men. very loud for my date. and the temperature in the room was frigid."

bestellen, it was the first time dining there with 5 of my other friends. we were all very impressed with the quality of food, their service, the server's knowledge of the wines available and suggestions as well as the ambience. Def. will return!"

I went to Bestellen on two
consecutive Wednesday nights with a few friends. The service is also excellent! There are $1 oyster specials on Wednesday (Malpeques from PEI). The burger is really outstanding... perfectly buttery and sweet brioche with a little bit of sea salt, caramelized onions, arugala, raclette, and a perfectly cooked burger of braised short rib and dry-aged beef. The brussels sprouts were also delicious and light (roasted with ricotta and lemon). The duck rillette that came with the charcuterie board was also great. I am normally not a fan of carrot cake, but the carrot cake here was absolutely perfect... it was warm and covered in caramel sauce and had a side of cream cheese ice cream. YUM!"

The ambience at Bestellen was very
nice. Loved the decor and the open space. The charcuterie board and the house made chips were a nice start. The mains took a long time to come (it was a Monday, and though there were a couple of large parties, it was relatively empty). The octopus starters ordered by two people in the party were overcooked (the tentacles were charred very badly) and cold. Scallops were nice and light. The server was nice, welcoming and informative. Though, he should let people know if there is a delay in the kitchen. Will likely give this place another chance but not any time soon."

Bestellen is really outstanding.
Certainly one of the best dinners I've had. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food you get -- we spent $100 ($50 a person) for two courses and 2 pints of beer and felt very satisfied. Bestellen has some really excellent beers on tap that pair well with their kind of cuisine (i.e. meat). I'm often not one to obsess over "service", but it's worth it to say that the service here was really top notch."

been here many times, but never
had their signature cote de boeuf until this weekend. always wanted to, but it's huge and too much for my wife and I since we always want to order other dishes as well. finally went with another couple friends and we all shared this with a few other dishes. fantastic. one of the best steaks i've ever had! love the burger. pastas are always delicious"

Not sure what to make of it when
we walk in but everything was very good. Service was very professional. Charcuterie was brilliant. oysters too. we both had a top sirloin cooked sous vide. really, really good. Desert was crazy good. this place is on my "go to" list now for sure."

Earlier in the day, I received a
call confirming that we were still coming and to let me know that we only had the table for 2 hours and then someone else was booked to take it. I hate this practice. I know tables have to turn, but it should be seamless to me the customer. When we arrived the hostess made sure we knew that they were very busy. We were informed that 2 of 5 mains were already sold out for the evening because of large parties in the back including one of the dishes we had been looking forward to. How can menus be sold out by 7:30pm due to large groups that surely booked in advance. The food was excellent and the waiter was a delight. But the attitude seemed to be that we were lucky to be able to eat there."

Went with gf and another couple
who had raved about it in the past. After the meal we all agreed would be our last time. Was disappointed since had heard good word of mouth from several sources in the past. First, the menu was completely different than the one posted on OpenTable. When brought to the waiter's attention he shrugged it off, acknowledged it was completely out of date, but could not accommodate our request for any of the items from it. Also their current menu prices significantly higher than their OpenTable menu. We're young professionals and like happening places, eventhough the dining room was only half full on a Friday night, we found it difficult to carry a conversation for some reason. Food was just ok, over-salted."

This place has an elevated relaxed
atmosphere-it manages to hit some kind of sweet spot in between hipster and old school. The food, drink and service are definitely the focus (the old school) but the music, the staff and decor are cool and fresh (the hipster). Try the charcuterie platter and the meatballs to get going and end with the chocolate boudino for dessert. Both the beef and lamb specials of the day were also outstanding. The meat is cooked sous-vide which does end in a perfect result, but there is also as much attention placed on the veg garnish and sauces. Cocktails are a serious affair here too and the wine selection is unique-you can choose daily white or red offerings from 3 price points written on chalk boards on the wall."

This is my third time here, and
every time I've gone it's been a real treat. The steak (shared between myself and two guests) was to die for - equally as much as it was the first time I had it. The 32oz Côte de Bœuf with Bone Marrow and 2 sides is the dish to get. The guests I brought had never been, but were blown away by the flavor and experience. Service was top-notch too - the server that evening knew his stuff in great detail, from drinks to apps to main courses (the origin of the food/drink, why he would recommend one over the other, etc.). Can't wait to go back!"

Food-wise, we ordered the: * pretzel bun w/ mustard butter :: Yum! * tempera fried zucchini blossoms :: greasy, tempura batter was too heavy for the delicateness of the zucchini blossoms; would have preferred some sort of filling * Bestellen burger w/ caramelized onions/raclette/house-made brioche & frites :: O-M-G deliciousness; consensus: easily one of the best burgers we've ever had, fries were also really awesome! * steelhead trout w/ bacon lentils/buffalo yogurt/red watercress :: trout was under seasoned; bacon lentils were super tasty & the best part of this dish * Butcher’s Daily Cut (8oz. striploin) :: was okay Overall, highly recommend this place and we would definitely go back again."

We had a great experience, the

This was an enjoyable meal but not
fantastic. We say at the front and it had to be one of the most awkward and uncomfortable stool and high table combo I have experienced. We did try the $1 oysters between 6&7pm and they were very good. Then we had the 32 oz meat for two. It was good and prepared as ordered. A little too much salt on the outside but overall pretty good. Good thing because their menu is somewhat limited. No dessert as they only had two options which didn't appeal to us. For the price I expected more. Servers in jean shorts and a casual approach would in my opinion be more appropriate in a place charging a little less. Good not great."

Had a great meal for my hubby's
birthday. We shared the 32 oz cote du bouef, with the bone marrow and sides. This wasn't as big as I thought but still couldn't finish it all. They have a good selection of wine at reasonable prices as well as a great reserve list. Our server was well versed with the food and the wine. We were told that the burger is amazing so we'll have to go back soon."
