We ate at the bar and where Jen mixed up great, innovative cocktails. The service was friendly and superb. Food is outstanding- the trout tartare was to die for. Very cool atmosphere. Love that they have 3 main price buckets for wine which are all listed on huge chalk boards on the wall. Our waitress were great and knew her wines.
Def a must if you like meat. The team in the kitchen, behind the bar and in the dining room all exude their passion for food. We have taken a number of out of town guests there when we're looking for top notch food but in a comfortable, approachable atmosphere for people who may not be comfortable with formal dining.
The 32oz Cote de Beuf is a crowd pleaser and the burger is an unexpectedly delicious find. The menu isn't large, but we have never had any trouble finding something for everyone.
The drink menu is also alluring. Everything on the menu sounded so tasty. Lots of people were ordering the Bestellen Burger and it looked delish. Will be ordering that next time. That is, if. I can resist ordering the trout again. So yummy with creamy mashed potatoes, fiddleheads and lots of fresh dill. My hubby had the sirloin of the day with spiced buckwheat. Also so good. The starters we had were lamb tartare and seared scallops. The deserts were nice and yummy too. Good vibe., great service and an overall wonderful meal. We will be returning! The food was excellent!
We had the menu item called "The roof". Aged steak on the bone with two sides. It's carved for you and wonderfully presented, even with the marrow.
For dessert, we had chocolate pudding with meringue and whip cream. That too was excellent!
The decor was great! Very nice design.
I am a whiskey/bourbon guy... they have an excellent selection.

We walked in and the staff were really accommodating because I didn't like the table they had for us. We moved to a communal table but it was quiet and we had it to ourselves. The cocktails were inventive and delicious. My husband enjoyed his rack of lamb and I absolutely loved my burger! This place has got their act together. The service was stellar - probably in my top 3 experiences in Toronto ever. Food was stellar, dish after dish and we had a hard time deciding what to order. The grilled octopus was divine. Almost embarrassed to say I had never tried beef tartar before - this was certainly the place to do it. Melted on my tongue.
