Our dinner was magnificent! My strip steak was the best that I have ever had very tender and delicious especially the sauce. My husband very much enjoyed the lobster boil. The service was impeccable. Perfect night.

Thai
Virginia Highland
About the restaurant
According to Zagat, This "excellent" local spot where Va-Highlanders meet is known for its "great patio" and "good, reasonably priced sushi and Thai food"; it's a mystery why it's "rarely crowded", but "those who love it" and want to keep it all to themselves "hope it stays that way."

We took a chance on something new, and I’m so glad we did. From the stylish decor to the perfectly mixed drinks, every detail exceeded our expectations. The food was outstanding, the service even better, and the whole vibe made it feel like we’d discovered a best-kept secret. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu—this place is a true hidden gem!

What a lovely gem located in Alpharetta! My wife and I wanted some place special to celebrate our 51st wedding anniversary and the many positive reviews led us back to Nahm. We had dined there many years ago and had a lovely experience but that was all pre-COVID and many restaurants did not survive the pandemic. I am happy to report that Nahm deserves all the positive ratings and reviews it has garnered. From the minute we were greeted and seated to the wonderful and attentive wait staff we knew that Nahm was thriving and showcasing the elegance, standards and quality of a fine dining establishment. The noise level was a bit high but not unpleasant - something we attributed to it being a Monday with the after-work crowd coming in to enjoy great drinks, good times and a first-class meal! For appetizers Paula had the summer wrap, and I had the fried calamari, both excellent dishes and each large enough to be shared by two people! Bar service was first class. I judge a bar by the quality of its dirty vodka martinis, and this was the best cocktail I have enjoyed in years! Our entrees were the Sesame Orange Shrimp for my wife, and I had the Jumbo Prawn and Scallop special. The dishes were generous and delicious! I wanted my seafood flash fried rather than grilled and spicy - it was out of this world! I really want to give a shout out to our server, Katie, who treated us like royalty! She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and thoroughly professional and deserves recognition! She's the best and we will ask for her on our next visit! As we were preparing to leave, Katie showed up with a complimentary desert and a fresh bouquet of flowers that she made for my wife. This is a very special place for those very special experiences. Everything about it speaks to the quality the owner expects from her entire staff. Highly recommended, it is easy to see how Nahm has garnered so many effusive ratings and reviews! Well done, Nahm!

Basque
West Midtown
About the restaurant
Cooks & Soldiers brings the cuisine and cultural experience of Spain’s Basque region to the flourishing West Midtown area. The menu is divided into “pintxos tradicionales,” or tapas-like snacks served atop toasted bread; “pinxtos especiales,” or Basque-inspired small plates; “asador” including a variety of wood-grilled fish, meats and vegetables; and a selection of unique and modern desserts. Behind the bar, Cooks & Soldiers offers guests an extensive collection of Basque and Spanish wines, txakoli and ciders, in addition to craft beer and signature cocktails. The cocktail list places a heavy emphasis on gin, offering a seasonal selection of house-infused tonics blended into gin tonics and other popular libations.

Fusion / Eclectic
Downtown
About the restaurant
We know the word "fusion" has been wielded about to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like sea bass and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). He has created innovative dishes, approached in much the same way, leave the hands of Calvin Phan day in and day out. His dedication and attention to detail are evident in each dish and dessert. You won't be disappointed.

This was our first experience at il Giallo. It was recommended by a good friend and was it a great recommendation. Service was appropriately attentive and allowed us to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. My wife had the Scallops and was extremely pleased. While I had Eggplant Parm which is not on the menu, but they graciously prepared a delicious serving for me. We enjoyed a bottle of wine from their wine list and they have a sommelier on staff ready to answer questions or provide guidance on your wine choices. We had a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo that was excellent. Our dessert was a delightful Tiramisu. Would highly recommend il Giallo for a special evening out with someone special in your life for an enjoyable meal and conversation with excellent service.
