A word from Besito - West Hartford
Besito (Little Kiss, in English) serves authentic Mexican food and is home to tableside guacamole and the Besito Patron Margarita. Besito serves lunch and dinner everyday. Food specialties include classic tortilla soup, tamales with shrimp and chipotle adobo, ceviche made daily, boneless short ribs of beef and enchiladas suizas. We serve over 60 world class tequilas in our Agave Lounge in an atmosphere of old, rustic Mexico and sophistication bringing back memories of your last Mexican vacation!

Blue Back Square is Besito's first location in Connecticut. Our two other locations are located in Long Island, New York. Besito - Huntington opened up in February 2006 and Besito - Roslyn opened in January 2007.

  • "I have been to Besito twice and each time is an experience to remember. Between the vibrant food and the unique drinks it is definitely something to write home about. In fact I did, and my second visit there was with my mother and brother for a birthday! At the end of our dining experience we were surprised by one more! The waitress brought out probably one of the best Tres Leche cakes I have ever had with a candle glowing on top complimentary for my brother’s birthday. I hadn't requested this service but it was fantastic! I highly recommend Besito to anyone looking for an experience."

  • "When we were seated, my husband ordered a margarita. The waiter said that one wasn't good and ordered him another instead without asking. The drinks are about half the size that they were. We had some type of floutas for an appetizer, the steak tacos entree, pork carnitas entree, and jicama. The floutas were okay but not much flavor. The jicama was clearly old and wasn't the nice fresh crunchy texture you expect; it was also loaded with chili pepper and basically inedible. Both the carnitas and the steak tacos were completely unseasoned. Out of the entire meal, the black beans were the most flavorful and they barely tasted like anything. The place was also barren on a Friday night, with only about 15% of the tables having guests."

The drinks are unique and always incredibly complex and tasty. Service was responsive to our needs and the outdoor seating was just as luxurious as the indoor dining experience."

  • "Discovered Besito recently for lunch with my husband. We really enjoyed the shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and freshly made bar drinks, and decided to try it for dinner along with a friend. All three of us unanimously gave a thumbs up to the food, service and ambiance. It gets a little loud when the place was full, but it was not enough to be a turnoff considering how good the food and service were."

  • "Great little find. The atmosphere is great. Loved the room. With the high ceilings I'm sure it helps to keep the noise level down when crowded, not a problem for us at lunch on a Sunday. The tableside Guacamole service was excellent, prepared to your liking. Menu was diverse. I had the Jaiba - an organic mesculin greens salad with roasted corn, tomatoes, jicama, queso fresco and avocado green chile dressing topped with a crispy spicy crabcake. This was very good, although I would have been happier with it minus the greens, a crabcake on top of the vegetables with a dressing that was thinner for drizzling. The other party had the Mixtos, 3 tacos (beef, shrimp, chicken). A great way to try them out. All in all I would go back."

  • "We were seated outside on a beautiful evening which is always nice. We have eaten here before and have always enjoyed our meals. However, this particular night one of our entrees, swordfish, was undercooked and practically raw on the inside. It was sent back and came back pipping hot. Not a big deal but everyone else at our table was almost finished by then. Usually the food is well prepared. Will still go back since we do enjoy this restaurant. Service is always good."

  • "This was our third time dining at Besito and I found that the food was spicy, but not tasty this time. We dined with friends this time as we recommended this restaurant based upon our initial experiences. We bragged about how great the food is, but we were all disappointed this time. Perhaps this time was an exception (a Sunday), the master chef's day off, so we'll give it one more chance. The consistent quality of the food is most important to us, so if the food doesn't meet expectations next time we won't be returning."

  • "I have been to Besito's several times for dinner, and it never disappoints. I am not usually a fan of Mexican food, but Besito's is really high end Mexican food and delicious! The guacamole is amazing; we always order more because one is never enough! The ingredients are always fresh; I have never had a mediocre meal, I highly recommend it! Also- went with a group of women, and the waiter was able to separate the bill per person. That's impressive!"

Everyone was happy with both shared foods and their individual meals. Excellent! Taste, temperature, presentation...all were wonderful! Other than the gimmick of making glaucamole table side, it wasn't really any better than a typical chain restaurant, my wife's tuna was over cooked, and my enchiladas were just a pile of goo, with rubbery hanger steak. The service and ambience were fine, but it's not worth a return trip."

The waiter took about 10-15 mins to greet us. When he did there was no "hello" or "happy Father's Day", rather a "can I get you a drink". The food was good but nowhere as good as the two times prior."

  • "Besito's was just okay. The tableside guacamole was tasteless, it lacked any acidity or spice. I recently had tableside guacamole at Geronimo's in New Haven and it was outstanding! the food was presented beautifully, but was definitely lacking. I had the shrimpt skewers and they were cooked nicely, but it was on a pretty plate with pico de gallo and i think diced squash. probably needed some rice underneath the plate. Pricey Mexican food, but had a delicious margarita!"

  • "We discovered Besito by accident a year ago and go to lunch there once a month - the drive is just over an hour. The décor is outstanding - similar to a typical Mexican restaurant as Mexico's presidential palace is to a typical Mexican home - as is the ambience. The food is the best Mexican style food we have had outside of top end Mexican restaurants. We ate dinner there with friends on Saturday night. Food was amazing as usual and the staff very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was busy and active in conversation but the staff coped flawlessly. Our guests spend part of the year in Puerto Vallarta and compared the food to the best restaurants there."

  • "Besitos is unlike any other Mexican restaurant we have been to. It is very upscale and feels more like a 5 star restaurant. The prices reflect this, but are in no way overly expensive, especially for the quality of food and great service you get. Even though they were busy on a Friday night, they honored our request for a booth and we were sat right away. Everyone from the hostesses, waitstaff, and bus staff were all very welcoming. I just ordered appetizers since I don't eat a lot and my husband got the Chicken Mole Pablano Enchiladas wich were outstanding! We were especially impressed by how quickly the food came out and how delicious it all tasted. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!"

  • "I went with a group of six for dinner as a going away celebration for a friend. I have been there before for happy hour which was excellent. We asked if we could sit outside and they said no, only tables of four can sit outside. The inside of the restaurant however is very nice and upscale. The service was okay we did not see her often as everybody joined us for drink orders etc. The food was my main concern; I did not get what I was looking for. The tacos mixtos came on a pan of melted cheese which was nearly impossible to eat and get off the plate and they barely gave us enough taco tortillas, which we had to share among the six of us. For the pricey options they have the food was overcooked and underwhelming. "

  • "Tableside Guac was fresh and tasty. As somebody that lives in Texas, taking a client's recommendation for Mexican food in CT was probably the only reason I'd try this place. However, it pleasantly surprised me. Great looking restaurant, enjoyable food (my mahi-mahi was a little dry, although a co-worker had the same dish and loved it), very relaxed atmosphere and totally suitable for entertaining clients. The horseshoe booth was perfect for our group. Would recommend and could see myself returning."

  • "Besitos is a winner! Gets the stamp of authenticity from my Mexican friend and travelers in the know. A local favorite hat never disappoints. Definitely offers sophisticated fare far above the typical Tex-Mex dishes of most Mexican restsurants in the US. My Yucatan spiced chicken with was do tasty and my son loved the mole poblano. Excellent selection of margaritas, tequila, beer and select wine choices add to the fun. Atmosphere is noisy but festive. The large, high ceilinged dining room evokes a different time and place. It's always fun at Besitos!"

  • "I've eaten here on several different occasions. This was the first time on a Saturday night during prime dinning hours. Our waiter "Bruce" was really rude and rushing us through dinner. There were several times the manager was out in the dining area seemingly rushing all the waitstaff to get their parties in and out. If I'm going to pay for overpriced Mexican food I'd at least like to enjoy it, not inhale it."
